Ah, that flat “grass shelf” is part of the ancient earth works for the defensive boundary of the ancient hill fort! 😊 Also, directly below you was the abandoned former road which the council tried to repair several times in the 1950s (I think) but the excessive landslides forced them to give up! It had lots of alpine style switch backs - you can walk the road and see the asphalt all ripped a part. That’d make a cracking video! 👍
Liking your stuff mate, youve got a new sub here. Ive never thought that you could camp up Mam Tor, but well done for getting the win. Loved the Winnats Pass one, gonna give that one a go soon.
I've done mam tor a few times with the wife and daughter. Great place to camp but can be very windy. No one is bothered about you camping up top ❤ I camp a couple of foot of the track a bit further along 😊
Top video👍🏻 I've camped on mam tor 3 times, twice on a ledge to the right of the path leading up from blue John mines and once on a flat shelf below and to the right of the ridge heading towards hollins cross overlooking castleton, I had a great sunrise in the morning.
@@GoodBlokeOutdoors it'll definitely be quieter in winter 👍🏻....having said that, myself and a group of mates/colleagues from go outdoors (when I worked there years ago when it was owned by John Graham) went for a night walk along the great ridge in the snow....we saw several tents along the ridge lol.
Nice one mate stunning little spot. Love your tent. On my list one day ! I’m just waiting for it to arrive S hand Abisko lite 1 looking forward to that. I’m a short arse 5.9 so should be ok for me. Atb G 👍
Cracking sunrise there Liam! Belter of a morning - some places do get very busy now, Angle Tarn up near me is like Glasto on a weekend in the summer months!! Nowt wrong with people enjoying the outdoors but I wish they would take their crap down with them. I always end up carrying more rubbish down than I generate
Looks less than 5 minutes to the summit, guessing that's why there was quite a few for the sunrise. Speaking of which, was effing awesome, what a view🏞👍. I was wishing for smellivision during the cooking haha, bet that tasted pretty decent. Good job on the video mate🤘
Another entertaining video Liam 👍🏻 Will you be going to Lavvu on the farm next month ? Looks a cracking weekend camp. If you fancy doing a woodland camp in a tipi with a stove, your more than welcome to use mine, im only about an hour away from you. ATB Daz
aye man ive pitched up there (pretty much where i started my wild camping on my own) round the base when the camper vans etc are and seems they fionally finsihed the bottom of the stairs when you started as a few months back that was disintregated and just mush! but the views are awesome oh man that sunrise was sick!
Great video as usual mate. The problem with Mam tor is , that it is so close to the road that people literally drive half way up it, and its full of fat people wearing converse, telling everyone that they went for a hike and posting on social media. Far to busy Winnats pass is one of my favourite roads though

Brilliant again! The best wild-camping content on TH-cam by far. This lad knows how to make a video.
Oh mate what a legend , thank you for that!

@@GoodBlokeOutdoors yeah man! People walking by my tent at 11pm and people up on the summit at 4am to watch the sunrise. Crazy how busy it was!

Yeah plenty places to pitch down there, can’t imagine how busy this place would get on a weekend on a sunny day!
@@GoodBlokeOutdoors mate its mad how busy it gets sometimes you cant see the top ghahah

Yeah exclusive to Asda for now
Would love to camp in that spot but I couldn’t be doing with all the people 🤯
Yeah well busy, luckily nobody could really see my tent where i was.
