Hi Liam, got out in derrybawn mountain, couldn't find a place to camp, all bogs. Had a great day and actually thought of you on my way around. 18 km. First time in 30 years. Love watching.
Thats a shame you couldn’t find anywhere to camp mate! But glad you got out and out, hopefully next time you can find somewhere to pitch up 👍🏼 thanks for watching mate
It's a cracking camp the views and sunsets and sunrises are amazing 360 views it can be very busy at weekends but the summer hikers will start to drop off then the winter comes and only the hardy ones take it on
I just subscribed to your channel. This was my first and it was a very enjoyable video. Thank you for letting me come along on this adventure. I'm looking forward to many more. Dwayne
Ace video again, thank you. I love Helvellyn, been up it a few times but never camped up there. I went up quite late once with my daughters and it was very quiet, its definitely the time to go up.
Lovely Sunset and well done on Striding Edge still on my list. Fell that you pointed out was Lonscale Fell to the right of Skiddaw with Blencathra in the cloud
Another ♠video young man, I love the outdoors and wild camping (I don't get out as often as I should) I just wished I'd started when I was a lot younger, I reckon what you do in three days would take me about a week. Just a note on your windy side of the hill, I took up hang gliding in the mid to late 90s and we had to learn about the weather for obvious reasons, what I think you were experiencing was what's called "Eddies", If you know what Eddies are stop reading here. If you camp on the opposite side of a hill to the direction the wind is coming from it can sometimes be worse than camping in the actual wind that your trying to avoid, the hill causes the wind to squeeze past it so gets compressed, then once it gets past the hill it rushes back to fill the void created by the hill, it's like a stepping stone in a river, the water has to go round the stone and once past it the water rushes back towards the center of the stone from both sides creating 'Eddies', in the case of wind it's just air blowing in all directions this is why you couldn't work out which direction it was coming from, link below (if it works) that shows the effect of the hill on the wind as it travels around and over the hill. Any road, enough of me blurtin on, another crackin video, crackin camp, keep entertaining and keep on trekking .🤘 learn.weatherstem.com/modules/learn/lessons/161/13.html
Thanks mate its a stunning location and can’t wait to get back up there in the winter! Never knew that about the wind, i’ll check out the link mate and read more about it.
Stumbled across your video on the Scottish Highlands and loved it. I'm new to your channel but I absolutely love your videos. Look forward to getting through them .
Mate - stunning colours there!! Striding Edge is one of my faves, especially in winter conditions (go with a mate if proper snowy) cracking camp Liam 👍
Awesome views, I've been up and down Helvellyn quite a few times but I've never had the pleasure of camping on it. You've given me the incentive to do it👍🏻
This was another great video mate and a great follow on from the pov👍 cheers for sharing your adventures 😊 stay safe Liam, keep smiling, keep shining and keep showing the world how great you are 💪 God bless you mate 🙏🙏😊
Never camped up there but hiked it twice now, first time was many moons ago with my Dad, up striding edge down swirrel. You getting up there now with the big boys pal, decent walks and camps. Tope bloke🤙
I’ve been bingeing your vids for the last few days now, even during my breaks at work haha they’re too good. Planning on tackling striding edge this summer at some point finally 👊🏻
Absolutely great video brought back memories from when I was on Helvelyn but in different condition and came down Swirral Edge after a camp on the summit, went back up Striding edge but on the side path not the top, that was years ago late 90’s Keep up the amazing videos ⛺️⛺️ wish I could post a picture looking up from Red Tarn but can’t ⛺️
Swirl edge is definitely easier than striding , which is more exposed and steeper . Scared me to death striding and swirl I felt quite comfortable. But can be done like you say taking your time.
Amazing video ❤. You have really inspired me to pay a visit to Hellvelyn next weekend. I don’t think I am brave enough to do Swirral Edge though. Keep them coming.
Omm Halo Smock, 1 of my favourite pieces of gear 👌🏼 and no I film in 4K 99% of the time.. occasionally if i use the Hyperview then thats recorded in 5.3k but will still then be edited, exported and uploaded in 4k 🤙🏼
