  • How To Replace Fuel Injectors. This is a little DIY project that was a long time coming. In this video you will learn how to get to your fuel injectors, how to remove old fuel injectors and replace them with new ones. The engine fuel injector location is pretty common in most cars.
    In my Chevrolet Lumina which has the GM 3.1 (3100) SFI V6 Engine, they were located underneath the air intake manifold. In most cars this DIY project will be more simple. Watch the whole video for the Fuel Injector Replacement.

    As a note to others watching. These spark plug wires CONSTANTLY break off when removing the end that goes to the spark plug. I highly recommend only pulling off the ends attached to the coil and flipping it over the front bumper. Still well out of the way and you won’t end up making a trip to the parts store!

      I for some reason could not think of fuel rail while editing! Yes the brake booster hose now makes sense. If I would have went back into the engine and taken a look. It was a long time between doing this job and actually editing it and putting it on YT.
      So I’m guessing the MAP sensor you are speaking of is the little unit box connected to the fuel pressure regulator with that thin hose. I actually did not know that thank you.
      Thanks for helping. People who hate I don’t let get to me because most haters don’t ever even try to make videos themselves to help others out

      @@AutOdometer yupp thatsbthe map sensor that connects to the fuel pressure regulator if I'm not mistaken that hose sucks vacuum into the map sensor and then the engine. Also, for next time there is a specific way to remove and put back those bolts from the intake manifold. If you don't do it in the specific cris-cross method it'll tear/break the intake gasket hence another leak. But great job for your first time👍

      The o rings can be lubricated with a slight amount of engine oil. Eases insertion of the loaded fuel rail. Also that line that hooks to a hard line is a for the transaxle's vacuum shift modulator (4t60-e).

      If you took that hose off of your fuel pressure regulator and smelt gas that’s sometimes a sign that’s it bad. It has a diagram inside that sometimes goes bad. It can give misfires, ruff idles and sometimes your car won’t start right away or die after a few seconds.

  • @jasonaldenhaley1

    if that gasket gives too much grief, switch out the 12 that surround each runner to studs and flanged nuts. I'd go grade 5 and look for ones that are turned to a diameter on one or both ends. You'll see that alot on bolts that screw into motors, castings specifically. Reason being a full thread, bottomed out then REEFED DOWN can (usually does) crack the casting....maybe not right then and there, but run a few heat cycles through it so when you're on that 700 mile trip to see Gran-Gran, intake (in this case) cracks through, allowing way more air than it should, thus making that cylinder more lean than a 70's Arnold Schwarzenegger (with equally catastrophic results).

      Oh great! I'm in the middle of putting my engine back together after replacing head gaskets. (actually just needed to replace intake manifold gasket - they're the ones that actually go bad and leak coolant into engine, but what the heck, I was already down there). I'm wondering if I've got the injectors seated correctly. Going back to check it out this morning. Do you smell gas? Maybe you didn't push them in far enough? He didn't really show replacing the things (injectors) on the fuel rail. Could be easy to get them not aligned properly. They said in one video you have to pressurize the fuel rail by holding the key to ignition to the right a few seconds and do that several times before trying to start the car. Please post your solution. Good luck

    Bogus from the git go. As you pull spark plug cables you do not label what cylinders they are going back to. That would be a problem of misfire at the end especially when spmeone is working with V8 engines.

    • @patrickmcmahon1110
      @patrickmcmahon1110 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just marked the top of the loom holding the spark plug cables, they are connected left to right aslong as you know which side of the loom was up when you started you shouldn’t have any misfires. That’s a poor explanation but I can’t think of a way to phrase it better.

    • @randywilson3572
      @randywilson3572 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not bogus. 1, it’s not a V8, 2, the back plugs are 2,4,6 from left to right and the front is 1,3,5 from left to right. If you can’t figure that out you probably shouldn’t be changing your fuel injectors. 😂
