I love the 5 mins! I don't wanna spend 10 mins of my time watching something that could be explained in 5. You get the gist of what to do and then can make your own adjustments. keep it up guys!!
Tami Ceballos yes I agree. Every recipe I've ever used has been adjusted as I cook but these videos seem so simple that even the most inexperienced of cooks can benefit also. These guys are great!
Love, love, love your channel. I wanted to suggest perhaps doing 10min meals vs 5min meals. The 5min limit adds a slightly uncomfortable vibe. I'd love to relax an fully enjoy what I'm viewing, not feel stressed and like I'm striving to turn in a late exam paper!! Great job guys, your dishes and personality are brilliant!
Erin Jones I get where you're coming from but it is pretty entertaining. I was laughing when they turned the flames up so high to speed up the process.
Erin Jones I think the 5 minute style is ace. I love that they leave in all the errors like the blender being crappy, they talk over each other alot too. It ends up being fun to watch
Love watching these guys but totally agree with you Erin. Five minutes is a bit of a misnomer anyway. It would take a good few extra minutes to assemble the ingredients, setup the processor, open cans, measure and prep etc, etc. Reality is for most of us mortals it would be at least ten minutes! All that said I enjoy what they do and love the end results.
I love this episode, I admire the realities you are making. Specially when the food processor is jammed, you showed your ingenuity when you make it in the bowl...that is something true and authentic...love it guys
While some ppl urge to get better food processor I keep thinking that you shouldn't. Simply because many folks will only have wee crappy processor and it's useful to see how you can still manage to make great recipes sans expensive equipment. I prefer recipe using raw chickpea and breadcrumbs but I ll admit this recipe is faster.
I love these five minute videos. When you're new to veg or vegan cooking, some videos on You Tube are long winded with the explanations. It doesn't matter if yes, the preparation time might add more than five minutes, it's very motivating to see that you don't have to take hours to try a new vegetarian recipe, it motivated me to try more recipes because of the Happy Pear because they made it look easier.
Hey Gents, just wanted to give a shout out! This recipe was amazingly delicious. Of course mine was no where near done in five minutes, but that's fine. I've been off all oils for almost a year, so by just blasting them in the oven before I coated them with some bread crumbs they were super crunchy. As always thank you for all your videos, its much appreciative. Cheers
Just wanted to share the RSA u - tube lecture on How Cooking can Change your life. Thanks again for making cooking healthy, fast, fun, meat free and delush.Keep up the great work, lads.
You guys are the cutest and funniest twin vegan chefs ever! Love your channel and your good vibes are contagious. Thanks for putting out so much good into the world.
I LOVE Falafel and my belly is rumbling big time haha! and I will definitely be making this for the weekend :-) thanks a million for sharing Dave and Steve and sending you guys tons of love and heaps of happiness from Waterford to Greystones for a BRILL weekend ahead XXXX
You guys are amazing!! I am a huge fan! I love the five minute videos. I've tried your burrito, bolognese, black bean sauce, chickpea curry and they all taste fantastic.. love your short quick healthy videos .. my house of meat eaters are enjoying your meals .. thank you!!! I'll be trying your black bean burger tonight *big fat grin* Jayda from Australia
Guys your only brilliant . Every cloud has silver lining, self isolating is an opportunity for learning . I just started vegan journey and was going to give up as interest and skills in the kitchen very little ( plus I tried vegan store bought cheese and 💨 that much thought I was going to poo self ) ha . But you have inspired me and i m even going to try make my own cheese . Woo hoo . I could not believe how easy it was to make your soya yogurt . I m thinking the shops now are taking the Michael . This makes massive difference as I m in achill island now and I just can’t be driving hour to get it as often not in local store . When it is its 2.35 like noo can’t afford that . So THANKYOU so so much .
ive watched a few of youre videos now and everyone thinks you should slow down but i like the 5 minutes! almost like watching the video sped up withought the squirrel voice. i get the gist of what youre doing and youre flavors plus you guys are very entertaining. thanks for the creative cooking inspiration!
Haven't tried even one of your recipes yet (no food processor and no money for one at the moment) but am eager! Lol Did put an order in to the city library for your book though and suspect they will order it (the hard over is sold out on Amazon!). I'll be the first to borrow when it arrives! 😍
Perfect guys, back to school/work after the Easter holidays and always looking for something vegan, tasty and quick to make, these are on my list for next weeks packed lunch :-) xx
Woow I just found you guys yesterday I already subscribed and watched like almost all your videos😍😍😍😍 your personality guys, your simple kitchen, the recipe and Iloooved how you work together! God bless you and keep just being you❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗
Definitely going to make these haven't eaten meat since I did your healthy heart course in April and am struggling a bit at the minute think I'm just bored eating the same stuff
I can’t imagine what is was like in the house when they were growing up!! The flame guys... “Jesus I’m scorchin me eyelashes” I shake my head the rest of the video! It’s all I see. Love you guys!
I think if you're frying falafel the dried soaked chickpeas work much better. You can get them really crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. I understand using the cans for a 5 min recipe though.
Totally my scene in kitchen when cooking new dish, especially exotic ones and we don’t have many ingredients available sometimes so have to come up with nearest matching ingredients and prepare and it will be a whole messy kitchen much to my mother’s chargrin
This is the best cooking video! If your ever in Australia …there’s accomodation and a kitchen here for you to shoot in 🎥🎬 Right by the ocean in Sydney Cronulla!🏄🏻🏄🏻😊
Loved this vlog - Felafel is one of my faves and your recipe looks and sounds delish - But, Please, get yourselves a real food processor! One with a few more horsepower! You deserve it! Lots of love!
Where did you guys get the vegan kimchi? Any asian shops I've looked in have the original korean recipe which contains fish. Did you make your own? And if so, do you already have (or could you kindly make in the future) a video showing the recipe please?
Hi Guys, great job with everything that you create 🙌 . Just on question.. do you have the possibility to upload your book 📚 on IBooks ? I haven't found it :(
kimchee with my homemade houmous (i skip the chickpeas, stronger that way and makes in seconds in a mortar and pestle!) and felafel, it's gotta be done!
hi, do you have any food processor recommendations? I imagine you've destroyed a few in your restaurant, so it would be cool if you could recommend any, or a handheld? Thanks!
I love your videos your videos are top, it looks succulent, it is simple and fast 👌. On the other hand I do not always understand what are the ingredients used (I am French). Could you write down the names of the ingredients below the video that would be great.
Tinned chickpeas release some of their protein and starch into the broth when cooked, so they bind less and are more prone to fall apart in falafel. Adding cashews and coconut cream introduces some of that lost protein so they bind better. Traditional falafel are made with raw soaked chickpeas so it isn't a problem there.
Yawn...You need neither more protein NOR (more importantly) the substantial FAT added by both the cashews and coconut! Can the anecdotal myths and avail yourself of current evidence based nutritional science. Meanwhile the ground flax seeds are a natural binding substitute for eggs in all recipes. (Start with Caldwell Esselstyn, T. Colin Campbell, John McDougall and the published research summaries at NutritionFacts.org.)
My Ninja processor would have ripped through that lol...I would of got out a potato masher and mashed it lightly to recover it. Looks absolutely delicious
Wonder if anyone has a recommendation on a good blender that is up to the task of blending thicker mixtures. I have the same problem making Falafel and other things like vegan ricotta (to put in vegan lasagna) and pesto.
just the blender on a stick (don't know the english word). Same goes for hot stuff, a normal blender will explode and paint your kitchen under the warm air pressure

With you on this. Maybe people could get a little bit more au fait the pause button!

I think their food processor looks so cute and it's perfect for small kitchens
For making things like that or veg burgers takes a more powerful processor.
Yummmi! I would love you to write the ingredients down in the box information, please! Thank you
Same here :)!
I was thinking the same - sitting here with my notebook & pencil!

That looked really good, a bit of prep but looks easy enough, ty for the recipe! Cheers!
It's a great one, enjoy it! 😄👍
Beautiful and really easy! No more shop bought falafels for me..one question..can I bake them instead of frying them? Thanks.
Absolutely Aisling! Bake in the oven for 20 minutes at 180°C. We were just a little strapped for time so we stuck with frying! 😉
Excellent food. I tried both the chickpeas and the Falafel. Keep up the great work.. Thank you!
ive watched a few of youre videos now and everyone thinks you should slow down but i like the 5 minutes! almost like watching the video sped up withought the squirrel voice. i get the gist of what youre doing and youre flavors plus you guys are very entertaining. thanks for the creative cooking inspiration!

Just made that. My friends and I loveed it! It's cheap, easy, tasty! Keep going!
Amazing!! So glad you made it with friends. We love the idea of people making the recipes together. :D Did you time yourselves. :D
Haven't tried even one of your recipes yet (no food processor and no money for one at the moment) but am eager! Lol
Did put an order in to the city library for your book though and suspect they will order it (the hard over is sold out on Amazon!). I'll be the first to borrow when it arrives! 😍
Brill to hear!!! 😄😋🙌
Love the 5 minute challenge. 10 and 12 min would be fun too.❤️🌱🌱🌱❤️🌱🌱🌱❤️

Great idea! 👍
Woow I just found you guys yesterday I already subscribed and watched like almost all your videos😍😍😍😍 your personality guys, your simple kitchen, the recipe and Iloooved how you work together! God bless you and keep just being you❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗
This is my 4th attempt at making falafel and I keep having the exact same problem with my blender! I am glad it's not just me!
Definitely going to make these haven't eaten meat since I did your healthy heart course in April and am struggling a bit at the minute think I'm just bored eating the same stuff
I love you guys. Your show is awesome. Love from Sunny South Africa.
I can’t imagine what is was like in the house when they were growing up!! The flame guys... “Jesus I’m scorchin me eyelashes” I shake my head the rest of the video! It’s all I see. Love you guys!
Woo hoo! I'm your 1000th like! From Ontario Canada -- love how you make being vegan quick easy & cheerful!
Ah wow thank you so much Judith!! Sending lots of Irish love to you over in Canada! xx
I think if you're frying falafel the dried soaked chickpeas work much better. You can get them really crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. I understand using the cans for a 5 min recipe though.
ailish086 I was just thinking that. I have the dried and I was afraid that they will be raw bcz they take longer to cook. hope ot works
Totally my scene in kitchen when cooking new dish, especially exotic ones and we don’t have many ingredients available sometimes so have to come up with nearest matching ingredients and prepare and it will be a whole messy kitchen much to my mother’s chargrin
Looks so good! Must try :-) Very happy to have found you crazy Irishmen here on TH-cam!
Please do, Tracey!! Thrilled you found us!! 😄😋🙌

That was great! I'm going to make these. 😅

Loved this vlog - Felafel is one of my faves and your recipe looks and sounds delish - But, Please, get yourselves a real food processor! One with a few more horsepower! You deserve it! Lots of love!
I really need to get your book! Love you guys! And love the fridge! You are winners! 5 minutes 10 minutes who cares? Do you do Irish stew?
These look great. Could they freeze?
Absolutely, great idea to have a stash of these in the freezer for an even quicker dinner!
Just made these. So freakin tasty. I baked mine like it says in the book. I wonder what the best way of reheating is??
Gather a lot of wood and start a Bon Fire until the flames reach a third story building and then just throw it on!
Hahahahaha technical difficulty. Thank you for not editing out! It’s nice to see real life issues and real life solutions.
I just want to know if those falafels could be batch made then frozen in servings,so that they could be thawed out and cooked when the mood arises?!
Love the recipe! I have a nut allergy. Can you suggest an alternative for the cashews? Or, can it be made without the cashews?
Eyelash40- can you eat seeds?
hey guys, great videos! is there anything I can use other than coconut butter? I can't seem to find it locally only oil. thanks so much!!
U guys r awesome. Thanks!
Can't wait to try this!
The poor food processor is just over-full 😆 If anyone else has this size machine, try doing it in two half-batches xx
Where did you guys get the vegan kimchi? Any asian shops I've looked in have the original korean recipe which contains fish. Did you make your own? And if so, do you already have (or could you kindly make in the future) a video showing the recipe please?
You guys are amazing, and I am a mother of twins also! 2 crazy funny 9 years old guys!
Every time I watch your 5 min videos I find myself yelling hurryhurryhurry! lol!
Hi Guys, great job with everything that you create 🙌 . Just on question.. do you have the possibility to upload your book 📚 on IBooks ? I haven't found it :(
Hey Alex! Thanks a mill, we'll look into the eBook for you! 😄👍
kimchee with my homemade houmous (i skip the chickpeas, stronger that way and makes in seconds in a mortar and pestle!) and felafel, it's gotta be done!
Would melting the coconut cream first have helped in the blender. Or does it not melt?
Awesome! You guys rock it!!!
I just recorded a video for you two ;) will post it tomorrow!
any suggestions if you do not have a food processor like yours? can this work just chopping things together and maybe a decent blender?
Absolutely 😄👍🙌
I need this in my life. 😘😘😘
A man who can and loves to cook! Lovely.
mmmm i need these so bad!
Dudes, I like your flame!
hi, do you have any food processor recommendations? I imagine you've destroyed a few in your restaurant, so it would be cool if you could recommend any, or a handheld? Thanks!
This is super cute!
Hey lads, love your work! What could I use as a substitute for coconut cream concentrate? Thanks!
Hi. Is there anything I could use instead of coconut cream? Thanks
I love your videos your videos are top, it looks succulent, it is simple and fast 👌.
On the other hand I do not always understand what are the ingredients used (I am French). Could you write down the names of the ingredients below the video that would be great.
Thanks for everything 😉

Will do 😄😋👍
Couldn't you have just added a little bit of oil to the blender mixture? Or water, or even the aqua faba from the cans?
Sure we could have! 😂😂😂
Lool you guys are amaaazing
You're amazing Sarah 😄😋🙌
So yummie!!! The food as well as you guys :-)
Food processor: the struggle is real! Ha ha! Great video definitely going to try this soon
Let us know what you think when you do! 😄👍🙌
You two love the food I love :D x
Could I use coconut butter instead of coconut cream? I can't find coconut cream in a block..thanks :)
Why the cashews and the coconut cream? I am from the land of falafel and we don't use either!
I am wondering the same. I've never used either.

(Start with Caldwell Esselstyn, T. Colin Campbell, John McDougall and the published research summaries at NutritionFacts.org.)
Cooking is a form of art and art has no boundaries.
Haybat Crawbuck these are Irish vegan falafel... Not the Arab ones
What can I use instead of coconut cream? I can't use flour or the linseed/flaxxseed because of food sensitiveness. Any help thanks in advance
Recipe link doesn't take me to the recipe and I haven't been able to find it from browsing your website! Is there a new link?
It's this one thehappypear.ie/recipe/5-minute-falafel/ 😄🙌🙌
Great recipe but I was a bit worried for your safety in this !!! 💕🌹💗
Instead of the kimchi, try with pickled turnip if you can find it, yum!
Pickled turnip? We will be tracking that down or making our own, sounds interesting.
The Happy Pear it is the traditional pickle for falafel
What other dressings would you suggest?
I hope you guys get a new food processor for Christmas this year - yeesh that's painful to watch! Love this 5-minute series though!
love, love, love these vids!! so fun to watch, haha :D
My Ninja processor would have ripped through that lol...I would of got out a potato masher and mashed it lightly to recover it. Looks absolutely delicious
What can i use instead of coconut cream?
I think they need to invest in a decent blender.
I was thinking the same 😂
the positive side of it is that they are working with the same situation as most of us at home :) which is nice :)
They just stuffed it too full
Do you know you could actually add lemon while the blender is on? *idea*
Chickpeas fava bean green coriander cumin garlic chilli that's how to make falafel and baking soda to give it the crunch
