Did this trail as my first off-roading experience a few days ago, on a Sunday, in a Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness. The road/trail conditions themselves aren't too bad, but certain parts were definitely not beginner level easy per se. Those spots where it gets super narrow, due to the hairpin turns/switchbacks with no visibility, and few spots to get out of the way of oncoming traffic. I did it mid-day on a Sunday though, and learned a lot. Next time I'm going to do it mid-week mid-day, with less traffic. Great trail though, despite certain semi-stressful moments with oncoming traffic, and a great experience overall. Gonna try out the other Santiago Peak trails at some point soon. I'll add that even though it was probably a busy day, I still only encountered maybe around 20 oncoming vehicles throughout the entire round trip.
