Looks like they started at Miller Canyon Staging Area. From there, head up the hill to the Pilot Rock Trail 2N33 then head east to Pinnacles OHV Staging Area. Keep on 3N34 eastbound and you'll come to a junction where you can either go to 3N34D Devil's Hole that is a little farther up the river or continue on 3N34 Crab Flats and follow the signs to Splinters Cabin and you'll get to the same river just further below.
