This game was and still is wild. I can't really be arsed to grind that much anymore so i got the mod where you get 15 cards for winning a duel instead of 1.
@@skylerbehunin7777it legitimately takes forever, and several dozen you can't get at all. Blue eyes ultimate, perfectly ultimate great moth, gate guardian, black skull dragon, blue eyes. All unavailable
Can I just say, separate to everything else, Yugioh FM has one of the best soundtracks to *any video game* I have ever played. Still! It's so varied and complex and intense. Makes grinding way more enjoyable than it would be otherwise.
The real trip was the memories we made along the way. Hence why they are forbidden. Also taking a moment to appreciate how incredibly on-point SA's impression skills are. Always a treat to hear just how well he can mimic voices.
Bakura to Yami Bakura gave me massive whiplash, he legit sounded like Bakura's dub VA until Yami and then he sounded like the villain in the first Wreck-It Ralph movie
I loved this game as a kid. You're not kidding about having to grind. I did a playthrough a couple of years ago. I had about 600 duels of grinding between Pegasus, Jono 2, and Low Meadow Mage.
I remember this game. Any deck with multiple Dancing Elf cards was... serviceable, at the very least... because they could fuse with most other monsters.
First game that comes to mind when I think of "so bad that it's good" game design. Talk about difficulty curve, each battle was like 100x harder than the last one, along with the CPU confirmed to be cheating their hand each turn. Still ridiculously fun, even with the hours of grinding required to get one good card.
Dude I remember as a kid I couldn't figure out how to get the rendered attack animation. I remember doing it once by accident and couldn't figure it out again. Also had no idea how fusing worked, would just press up on my entire hand and prayed lmao. I must have been like 6 years old or something. Rented it from my local Family Video.
I remember watching a friend playing this at his house. He got stuck on the first fight after waking up from dream world, lost a duel and had to restart from the start.
You should definitely play Yu-Gi-Oh The Falsebound Kingdom for the Gamecube, it's not great but it's one of those super random and whacky Yugioh spinoffs like this one
This game is hard as balls, too. From what I understand it's one of the most RNG-dependant games to be speedran out there. Also, I always found the ancient Egyptian stuff to be incredibly lame as a kid. Compared to the modern-day setting of the rest of the story, it made me stop watching the anime. The manga is also whack before the trading card game took over the series. Yugi just killed people regularly and it was awesome lol.
🗣HEISHIEN CAN LOSE THE FIRST FIGHT! YALL WERE SUPPOSED TO NOT EVEN START YOUR JOURNEY UNTIL YOU HAD 3 MEMORY CARDS, TRADED ALL THE GOOD FUSIONS UNTIL YOU COULD BEAT PEOPLE, AND TWIN HEADED THUNDER CHEEZE YOUR WAY INTO EASIER/HIGHER RANK WINS AND GOOD DROPS🗣

You didn’t just get all the cards unlocked?

It’s amazing. The nostalgia I get from hearing the ost, to this day, is insane.

Playing this again? Hell yeah.
I still haven't beaten it. I probably have 300 hours in it by now. One save file for like 20 years

I remember farming the Field Mage for days on end because he had so much good shit

Love this game!! Still play it to this day.

I love how you can construct a deck like what you have in real life
I like how it's like the original Yu-Gi-Oh show where everyone can summon shit willy nilly despite its requirements
Loved this game so much! Music is SO nostalgic
Was just coming back for another look at your elden ring list and spotted this. Iconic. No poly fusion summons man

Dude I loved this game. I remember playing this before I knew what gamefaqs was and just writing down fusions I discovered. I played it so much
Man I was so invested. This better get a part 2.
Did you ever know there is a Model for the monsters? you can initiate a model vs model fight of each of those monsters.
Ah yes, the Yugioh game where the AI always has the millennium eye!
I loved this game so much 👀👀
This is one of the first games i remember playing
Unlocking some great memories.
Free Duel OST was my jam.
do you know about the dynamic battle mode? just press square or any other button (except the confirm button) when you want to attack a monster card.
*sees video and clicks on it. Grt hits with nostalgia.*
This was a fucking trip down memory lane holy hell
I would love to see a full playthrough of this game
I’m shocked it took him this long to do anything with this game
Good to know I'm not the only one who thought this game was bonkers. Do this day I don't know how rituals work.
I remember watching a friend playing this at his house. He got stuck on the first fight after waking up from dream world, lost a duel and had to restart from the start.
Mystical Sand homies unite!
You got any plans to play the sequel, Duelists of the Roses? I'd die to see that, it even has the same fusion system
This game broke all the rules lol. Fun times back in the day.

One of my fave games in PS1. I choose to get cheat codes in internet to get the good cards rather than grinding lol
being rock hard for mystical sand is the equivalent of this one dude i watched debating being a furry for nekogal 2
Forbidden Memories had more made uprules than Season 1.
I've never heard a single person in my life ever pronounce raigeki as raijeki...
Yeah I've watched speedruns of it
This game was equal to the best and worse of acid at the same time.
more of that
Classic 00:
Please play the whole game. I will waste my life and watch the entire thing.
Please do a play through
I'm surprised you haven't tried Speedruning this yet. I'm sure you'd love it
