I ride We Are One Union wheels with I9 hubs on my SC Tallboy and I absolutely love them. Amazing hubs and wheels combo… expensive but not overpriced for carbon and I9 tech. Everything but the spokes and CushCore are North American made. The wheels “disappear” into the ride allowing me a full focus on the surroundings and the ride. Great bike review, much anticipated and well thought out. Keep up what you are doing!
Great to see another review out on this awesome bike. FYI, correction at 10:48, its a Fox 36 not a 38. I've owned this bike for about a month now and love it and this is my 3rd set on WR1 wheels and they have all been fantastic. I also currently own a V2 Ripmo (same suspension, rims, general set up) so I'm comparing these 2 bikes primarily. In a nutshell, The Ripmo is the more efficient climber by a small margin. On my first couple rides on the Arrival I was also wishing for a little less pedal bob on the climbs but once I dialed the shock settings in better it made a big difference. The Ripmo also feels a bit more lively and playful. However the Arrival is the quicker bike on the descents, it carries more speed with better confidence. And for the Vittoria tires, I don't mind them, good traction cornering and flat, my only real issue so far is that they are a bit soft in the side walls. In cornering they get a bit squirmy if I'm running the same pressure that I would normally run in my Maxis EXO Plus tires so I run about 3-4 psi more in the Vittoria's.
Whoa this is sick! I had no idea you had the chance to review this bike until now! Solid review, killer bike! You ever get the chance to review any other boutique or unique brands? Inquiring minds want to know....there are some bikes out there that probably deserve your perspective too
I have a set of Union Rims from them and love them. Looking at the Arrival now and considering getting one. Any insight into how it compares to a Switchblade? keep up the great reviews.
Loved the video, seriously considering one of these bikes... Just a side note while going down the rabbit hole that is wheel research I watched your video on carbon rims and the comments of the stiffness of the we are ones made me pause on buying them. You might want to put up a pinned comment or something for others looking for wheel reviews that there was a bike issue
Yeah I would 100% agree but I did buy them despite what they said cause others have said such good things and I’d agree that the WAO wheels have blown me away and I would recommend them to anyone. But I agree something to maybe note on their previous review about them cause I gotta believe it has turned away a handful of people.
Amazing looking bike. Really impressive what WAO has done. Curious how it compares ride and handling wise to something like the Canyon Spectral 29 CFR (or the CF8 you already reviewed) as they have the same travel and both seem to be on the more light feeling, playful and responsive end of the Spectum.
This is a solid option, Fezzari La Sal Peak is solid, Santa Cruz Bronson if you want something like that, or Nomad for bigger burly stuff, Pivot Switchblade or Firebird, Specialized Stumpy Evo alloy... in no particular order.
DK,.....I have a Rocky Mountain Instinct I use in St. George, it works very well there. I also have the Vitoria Mazza tires and they work well in that terrain.
@@dakotakirby5673 ,....Yep, both front and rear. Both 2.4, and I think they are very good. I personally have not seen any disadvantage from something like a minion dhr/dhf.
This is fun, but i'd probably want more travel for riding there. They just released a 170mm version, which i'd suggest looking at. Also like the Fezzari La Sal Peak, Pivot Firebird possibly, Specialized Enduro, Santa Cruz Nomad...
@@TheLoamWolf ,.....Very good, I will defiantly bee looking for that one. I have a 2022 RM Instinct and I put Mazza's front and rear and so far they have worked really good for me. However, I have only ridden them in ST. George UT.
Do you have any affiliations with the brands of bikes and gear you're reviewing? Or are they truly unbiased? This is very important to know, to be able to know whether the review is trustworthy or not.
We do not charge money to make our reviews nor are we sponsored or affiliated with any bike industry brands. We pride ourselves in having the most honest and trustworthy reviews out there. If you visit our site you will see it is our mission statement.
Why supporting an american brand is better than supporting a chinese ora indonesia one? That nationalism is a very bad reason to choose a bike or any other product.
We disagree. Shopping and buying local is great for a number of reasons...For example it's great to reduce the need for fossil fuel burning cargo ships transporting huge containers across the oceans.
Supporting your local industry, craft, shops etc isn't the same thing as nationalism fyi, someone *could* be doing both those things but they are not the same thing!
Looks like every other bike made in China. Built and assembled means they get the parts and then build it, big deal, purposely misleading marketing. The industry price fixes so it's the same cost as every other carbon MTB made in China with 150mm.
You clearly have no clue what you’re talking about. The bike frame and all of the hardware, rims and bar and stem are 100% made in Canada right at their Kamloops location.

Berd spokes would make it more “American “ 😜
Santa Cruz is Chinese made
Cool that you acknowledged the mistake in first impressions of their wheels. Keep it up guys. 👌🏼
It seemed the only thing to do after getting more time on them on a different bike. We try hard to be thorough, but we’re not perfect.

MR T,.......Thanks for the review and comparison, this is helpful and appreciated.
Always love the honest feedback. That is refreshing to hear about a bike
Thanks Matt! Great to hear from you.

Friend Just bought that beast. Looks amazing
@Paul T How are they feeling about it now a year later? I still really think I want one!
Subscribed!! Amazing bike!! Can’t wait to own one of this!!
Awesome! Thank you!

Not to worry. I ride WAO Union wheels since last summer and they are fantastic.

We’re actually just about to publish a correction video on that and we will be linking. Thanks for sharing though.
Agreed. Check our comment below. Thanks for sharing too.
I would like to see a longer travel edition of the bike! Pedal strikes with the low BB?
We are one just launched a 170 and 130 variant at sea otter- all with the same frame but different links you can buy separately!!
@@AlexanderBallot Wow, didn't know that, thank you!
Thanks for the review!
Thanks for watching.
Bike looks sick!
Thank You.
You're welcome and thank you.
Fork is a 36 no? You said 38... Good review though!
Don't cost anymore then a SantaCruz (made in china) shows that most mtb (made in china) are way overpriced considering that the WAO is made in Canada
Would love to buy one if it were possible (not in stock online or anywhere I know of) :P

Jersey is sick
Thanks! You too could own one and support American Made jersey manufacturers. 🤘
Might have an issue finding wheels or hubs. I mean unless there was say a company that made wheels that also made bikes :D
Stealthy bike 🥷 I like it ! Drew what size jersey do ya wear ? Large ?
Thanks! Yes I’m wearing a a large
That bike looks pretty unique.
lol, really? Isn't that a SC? No an IBIS? No a specialized? No a Trek? Oh, it's different...no stickers! So unique.
Have you ridden either of the Spot Mayhems? If so, how does this compare to them?
SICK BIKE,an it's Canadian, yeaaah love Canadian products as I'm Canadian 🇨🇦
Amazing review as always! What would be your non eBike of choice for St. George type riding?

I do the majority of my riding in Simi Valley/ Rocky peak. What bike that you have tested works best there? Both climbing and descending.

Looks like the paint doesnt stick really good to the frame, true ?
It cerokoted from the factory
All these new sexy bikes... is my sb150 getting long in the tooth?
Sounds like a prime candidate for Bike Giveaway???
What trails in simi valley / thousand oaks do you ride? I live in Simi Valley :D
Right on man. Rocky Peak, Woolsey, China Flats/Dead Cow Sui and love the Los Robles stuff for getting longer miles in.
I don't like how it looks, eye catchibg, sure, bit the rear linkage area is too busy.
that looks like an EVIL Offering V2 - albeit a more robotic version of an EVIL Offering
What did you think of those Vittoria tires?
Stand by for that review… Good in some terrain but we wouldn’t buy em.
