Atleast half of the money goes to fox and sram.. you can get a decent frame for the Same amount as the fork on this add the rear damper you get a awesome frame and that is the most expensive drive train one the market could switch it in RS airshock and a fork for just that.. but Yes awesome bike i like the rear triangle and the design of the frame but it's specked with only the absolute most expensive components..
I’ve ridden with Dustin and known him for a few years now. NOTHING but 100% quality in everything he builds. This bike is dialled from top to bottom and the fact it performs so highly out of its class is not a surprise. This bike destroys Trek Slash or Hightower or insert whatever 150mm travel 29’er you want. Sugar (the trail they were testing on) is classic roots, rocks and some steep downhill sections. The fact it outperformed bigger travel enduros is a huge accomplishment, but not a surprise. The ridiculous speed Dustin rides at means this bike has been out through the wringer. Premiering at the top of its class really is no surprise. Great work WR1 staff. Can’t wait until you release a big travel 27.5” bike. I’ll be here waiting impatiently. 🤘🏼
Sounds like the ideal bike if you can afford it. I hope they compare it to the Guerrilla Gravity Smash which is a carbon frame made in Colorado, so they’re in the same niche.
Might be a bit polarising but I absolutely love that it doesn't have any flip chips or geo adjustment, from working as a mechanic for a few years I always saw those chips coming apart and just making it unnecessarily complicated, it is such a breath of fresh air to see a company just do away with it
Almost every bike review with a flip chip, the reviewers put it to "Low" or "Lower" or "Lowest" or "Really Really Low"... and like that and leave it there... hmmmm? Could the "Flip Chip" be a marketing widget??
@@Bigmountain73 yeah I honest reckon it is, I have tested messing around with some of them and I couldn't tell the difference, most of the time I found when customers started fiddling with them they only caused more problems. And most of the time the reason their bike was riding weird was due to their suspension not being properly set up
I have a Stumpy evo. The adjustment is what made me buy it. I do park and enduro in lowest setting. If I know something has some hell climbs and time is of issue a less slack head angle might make up time. If I ride trails that are rocky and really super tech up and down you can have 1 inch of bottom bracket clearance with the rear flip. Which is a lot.

I'd like to see you compare this bike to an Ibis Ripmo. It looks at a glance to have a similar suspension setup. I tried to find a suspension kinematic graph for it but was not successful. I love that they are building it with materials that are close by too.
If I had the cash this would be the bike for me. Nothing but respect for the We Are One crew for making some of the best MTBs, wheels and components here in Canada.

Awesome bike for sure, but..... I wonder if it would still have taken the fastest (dh) time in a more realistic enduro situation with just one practise run where you inevitably take some dodgy lines. Possibly the beefier bikes would carry through those moments better? On a track you know like the back of your hand the lighter/steeper/less travel bike can easily be quicker.... Just saying. Whatever, not trying to criticise, Its clearly still an incredibly good bike and I'd give my right arm to own one!!
The bike is really promising, no doubt - The company is cool and has got really fair replacement programs too. But I think 10 to 13.000 loonies is maybe a bit too ambitious. But maybe I´m wrong and do underestimate material / labour costs and it´s just what you have to pay for a carbon bike made in Canada.
Something else to consider, what would you change? Like seriously, best wheels, best bars and stem, drivetrain. Honestly all you would change is saddle for personal preference and maybe you like a different brand of brakes? That’s it. With the other bikes at $6-8K, you’re upgrading a ton of shit. Wheels have lifetime warranty. It’s $10K and just ride it. There’s no way you can build a CC Hightower with the same components for the same price. 🤔

Replace the carbon wheels with something more wallet friendly and would the price be comparable? Would the ride also be hugely affected???? Just s thought
You could also run less expensive drive trains etc. Lots of things they could do spec wise to lower the price, but I think for their launch they are just targeting one particular market. If they are successful I wouldn't be surprised to see less expensive models
Totally agreed it is aimed at a certain price point etc. I just wonder if all the bikes had those wheels would this bike stand out quite so much. I know it's a full bike test but being so much more expensive does it make it a true apples to apples if you catch my drift
i absolutely love the fact the normal pivot bikes are faster than the stupid HP bikes. the best part is all the sheep will buy the HP bikes and leave me to buy the faster, better bikes.
Looks really nice but the components make it way too expensive They should have the option of selling you the frame only,,, if you're not sponsored who wants to use the most expensive drive train on the market on techy trail's ,,,i would like to just get the frame and put on some cheap Shimano drive train like deore 1x11 and a RS 35gold fork but have the magura 220mm mt5 front brake and a sram guide 203 in the back crank brothers carbon wheel's with tubeless maxis aggressor/dhf mix then the bike would cost about a third of the price but be very close to the same experience .. let us build our bikes fitted to our wallet's

tooootally. GG are a lot cheaper than the We Are One, but also has an alloy rear end.

That is a great looking bike. The H2F axle path doesn't look great though, these VPP bikes have weird two stage movements..
But if it works then it isn't bad, if it was bad then it would've likely been mentioned or showed up in the timed testing results.
So is it $8900 or $18000? had to turn on captions and indeed 2 prices were stated, thats astronomical.

There's 160 and 150 mm of travel. No way you can tell how vertically compliant the rims are....
