    Love it👍🏼
    I just built up a 2023 ibis DV9 i wish TH-cam had more reviews on it.
    It’s an amazing hardtail

      Thank you I appreciate it! But yeah I do think there is a gap in content for a lot of hardtails! Good to hear it is awesome though!

      That would be awesome! What park of August are you coming through? I do have a couple of trips in August so hopefully its not during those!

    Very first thing to get replaced when I got my SP2 170 was the dropper, got the shop to do a take off and put on an AXS Reverb. \m/

    • @dialedmtb
      @dialedmtb  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah good call! The only 2 things I would change on the SP2 would be the dropper and brakes. How are you liking the 170?

    • @dehumanizer21
      @dehumanizer21 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dialedmtb The next upgrade will def be to the RSC and HS2 rotors. I'm not in a hurry though. The Code R and Centerline brakes work well.
      I'm loving the 170. I do a good amount of trail riding as well as riding park. I have no problems pedalling with this bike. Money well spent!

    • @dialedmtb
      @dialedmtb  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I think the bike climbs way better then anyone would expect. Pretty amazing for sure!

  • @jmard24

    Im late to the party but I believe part of the reason for the arrivals composure is the 157 rear spacing. The bike is super stiff. My pivot is the same way. You notice it most on off camber sections and at speed.

    For the ibis bars, I’d buy an extra set of aluminum inserts for the ends and then cut them down a few mm at a time to test out. Then I’d prob just settle at 750mm haha

    • @dialedmtb
      @dialedmtb  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha yeah, I tried the 750 and just couldn't get along with it. I have ran 760 on my older Tallboy and I did get used to that. But I run 780 on everything so it is tough to change.

    • @JinPheh
      @JinPheh ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dialedmtb I'm pretty sure Ibis intended for the aluminum ends to be cut down. The idea was that you could buy new ends if you cut them too short for way less money than a whole new bar.

    I ran only Fox suspension for 25 years, but I'm a Rock Shox convert since SRAM merged w them. Run a 2023 Pike Select 150 now to replace the stock Fox 34. It was an excellent move. Stiffer, lighter, and more travel.

    • @dialedmtb
      @dialedmtb  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah RockShox is pretty dang great right now. They really are super close and it's personal preference but today I like Rock Shox better. Fox will come out with something in 6-10 months that could be better though. Which is what is awesome about bikes, things keep getting better and better.

    • @petedog9581
      @petedog9581 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dialedmtb Fox is more of a racing oriented outfit now. The mid to upper level suspension market is for them. The difference between the brands to the Avg Joe feels negligible.
      The price difference is significant between the brands for similar fork/shocks. RS blows them away. RS also includes extra volume spacers and a fork fender when you buy a new fork/shock... But, but the Kashima coating looks cool. The RC2 Charger damper is great.

    • @tinshield
      @tinshield ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I prefer Rock Shox as well

  • @whitest_kyle
    @whitest_kyle ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think the Arrival is my next bike after my Santa Cruz Bronson V3. What's your height for reference on Arrival sizing? I'm 5'9 and I think it would be hard to choose between the medium and large Arrival.

    • @dialedmtb
      @dialedmtb  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will love it! I am just over 5'8 and I am on a medium. It is a tiny bit smaller then other mediums but I only noticed it on the climb but once I got used to it, it was super comfy everywhere. I think you could easily get away with a Large too but I would say if you ride tighter trails the medium might be better, if you ride faster more wide open trails the Large would probably be better.

    • @ChipGeek0
      @ChipGeek0 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm 5'8" and have a large Arrival. I prefer my bikes a little bigger than most people do. I think either will work but you have to decide if you like your bike a little bigger or a little smaller. My LBS did not have any demo bikes so I had to order before riding. That said, I REALLY love my 170mm Arrival w/ 180mm ZED fork. It's awesome for riding in places like Moab but I'm liking in even in Trail or XC style of trails too. I went large because I wanted it to blast down tech & chunk in Moab and similar places. So in my mind a little larger would suit that better. Don't think too long about it. Just BUY it!
      Edit: And yes, I'm WAY over biked for my normal XC style trails near home. But my old XC/Trail bike is collecting dust.

    I had to switch back to the 160 mm bikeYoke on my Ripmo with it, slammed all the way into the frame on big compressions. The back tire would rub the back of my Ergon saddle.

    • @dialedmtb
      @dialedmtb  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh dang that is a bummer, didn't know that was an issue.

    • @nicholashines7686
      @nicholashines7686 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean only on the biggest largest landings just your average jump. It wasn’t an issue, but when it bottomed out it would rub the back tire.

    • @dialedmtb
      @dialedmtb  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that makes sense

  • @machine7767
    @machine7767 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    So TRP brakes are your preferred brakes? What rotor and pads do you like? Do you prefer 200mm rotors front and rear?

    • @dialedmtb
      @dialedmtb  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So I actually like Magura MT7's better, just didn't have them on these bikes. The TRP's and Shimano 4 pistons are right behind the MT7's though. I would happily have any three of those on my bikes.
      For rotors, on my trail bike (120-130mm of travel) I run a 180 rear rotor and almost always a 203 front unless I am going for a lightweight short travel bike and am counting all the grams. For 140mm and up of rear travel I just go with 200 or 203 front and rear and be done with it. You can easily over hear a rear 180mm rear rotor on longer/steeper descents and once you do that the brakes never work as good until you replace the rotor.

    How does the we are one compare to the Sentinel?

    • @dialedmtb
      @dialedmtb  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have only rode the aluminum Sentinel.. I would say between those two though that the Sentinel is definitely more ground hugging and wants to stay on the ground more then the Arrival, they both eat up chunk super well though but the Arrival just is a little more fun while being able to take anything you throw at it. I would expect the carbon Sentinel to be a little closer to the Arrival in playfulness but probably not quite as much.

  • @pwdt4r313
    @pwdt4r313 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It’s weird hearing you describe the ripmo as “ground huggy” since you’re about the only person to say that. Almost everyone calls it very poppy and that’s been my experience as well, even with a coil on it. Maybe you didn’t tune the suspension right?

    • @dialedmtb
      @dialedmtb  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So I believe I say its ground huggy yet poppy right? Maybe I missed that part but I think I talk about how its also poppy yet feels very planted in a great way in the Wrap Up videos that will be coming out on Sunday or the Final conclusion video that will be coming out the following Sunday, July 2. I would say the Arrival is a little bit more poppy though then the Ripmo though surprisingly.
      I do think its a poppy bike for its travel and for the suspension it has. But I also think it has a lot of plushness and traction in steeper rougher terrain as well. Best of both!
