    Hi Cody,
Excellent video, well balanced with pros and cons.
I own a 2021 model 3 LR . I had to drop it off for service and they lent me a 2020 model Y std. I am very impressed with the extra room and higher ride position, but one thing that put me off is the road noise coming from the tires on the Highway. I seriously thought there was something wrong with it. I don't think i could handle it on a daily basis. It wasn't the Performance model, just std range on 20 in rims. Our M3 on 18 in OEM rides a lot better and is quieter. Hopefully they can improve on this in the next couple years which is when we would like to trade up to a Y.

  • @noobystok

I can, and always have been able to, run the AC on both upper and lower at the same time, so either user error or you need to get it serviced. Maybe a reset would help as it seems like you've never done that before based on not knowing how to reset with the no connectivity issue. For the glovebox, just hit the right scroll button and say open glovebox...same voice controls work for nearly everything you'd need to do on the screen while driving. Even adjusting the AC.

To each their own but for me the bumpy ride makes a big difference when you're paying 70+ k for a car. The dang ride should be smooth as butter which it is ... as long as its on a flat road/freeway. I transitioned from a Toyota Highlander to the Model Y and while the Highlander wasn't the smoothest of rides I could feel the road ALOT less on the toyota. A friend has the model X and when I drive her car its nite and day with regards to the suspension but its substantial difference in price tag.

Just for the sake of comparison, I had to pay $2800 for the charging system I have here (Norway), granted it is a 400V system. but still, What's eating up your savings is buying a car for 67k, not paying $400 for an upgraded charging system :P

The model Y costs over 90k in Canada now. The model 3 is around 70k for the standard RWD. These cars are ridiculously priced these days. The cars themselves are not even CLOSE to that cost. The model 3 is closer to a 30 or 40k vehicle.
At a 70k budget, I would rather buy an Ionic 5. You get more bang for your buck with that and unlike the Model 3, is a properly well designed vehicle with good quality materials and build. The ride is way better too. You even get more tech than a Tesla, which surprised me.

Greedy UK government trying to eat their cake and have it. They’ve always over relied on excessive fuel taxes from motorists, to shore up the finance coffers.
Did you know UK motorists are taxed TWICE for each fuel fill up? They’re heavily taxed on the price of fuel; they pay £0.579 fuel duty per litre of fuel, and then the total amount per litre is taxed again at 20.7p (value added tax).
      Blatantly shameless rip off.
They’ve lost so much income tax on electric vehicles and hybrids, so now they’re trying to claw it back with cynically punitive financial penalties for buying an expensive zero emission vehicle - pure and unbridled stupidity if you ask me!

You spent 67k on a car and are having trouble with a $400 charger cost?

That was my first thought! He should have the money to get the Tesla Charger installed in garage!

LR with the app power boost seems a smarter buy to me. It's almost as quick and longer range, more comfortable (slightly) and a lot cheaper still.

Did you try pressing both scroll wheels while pressing the brake pedal to reset? I think that takes longer though. It might be your phone connecting to other Bluetooth devices.

My wife wants one simply because it has “dog mode”. Lol

The dog mode is pretty awesome actually. The ability to leave the heat/a/c on is on of my favorite features

Thanks for the review on the Y. It really made me rethink about getting the Testa, you really highlighted a lot of (small) negatives, for that price you would not expect so many issues. I think I will have a detailed look at the Rivian instead.

The fit and finish issues have improved in 2022.

The Rivian costs a lot more and doesn't have the charging network. There are also many small negatives with the Rivian, as there have always been for all cars.

@@elianashannon5214 - this is true I helped a friend take delivery of a 2017 model x and the fit was all over the place. they didn't even know how to address the issue back then .. I took delivery of a 2022 model Y had no major issues with fit. I still see some very minor stuff but not a deal breaker.

Had a 2013 Nissan leaf, loved it only the range was not quite there. So I ordered a Tesla Y model. I like the fact it’s like an SUV and it sure doesn’t need gas like my Land Cruiser. Can’t wait to get it

You don't really get a lot of extras with the performance. $10k into upgraded self driving would've been a better investment then nicer brakes
