I think I it’s for the bare minimum and can you make a video of why your cruelty free please! :) I know about skincare just not what cruelty is free and the behind of it all
I like Cerave because I want to be compliant with doctors orders but after I run out, definitely taking some of the cruelty free options for approval. Thanks always for what you do!
Cerave is exactly what I'm wanting in a skincare brand. Effective, no fragrance, the ability to BUY IN BULK(I hate when brands don't allow that!!), and a great pricepoint. I use their cleansers, moisturizers, and SPF. Then I target other concerns with my retinoid, alpha arbutin, and BHA.
@@allmapasic5620 Every medicine you use were tested on animals before having human trails. And the covid vaccine was also tested on animals and humans.
@@allmapasic5620 no anima testing doesn’t mean a product was ethically sourced, plus, determining something as “cruelty free” is not reliable. Companies pay to use the label and they aren’t inspected to see if it’s true they don’t test on animals most of the time.
I love CeraVe, basic straightforward ingredients without all the added garbage. I want to pay for ingredients that help my skin, not for the bottle that looks good on my shelf.
@@konstantinkostadinov5441 I can't stand their products. My skin reacts to it. The body lotion I can handle. But even at that no thanks I'm good. Their face wash their face creams. No thanks no thanks no thanks. Clean ingredients. I'm laughing. No thanks no how no way. My skin is a great barometer my body doesn't like toxic products. Whatever is in that product, my skin is like nope. I listen to my skin. And of course my inner dialogue crying oh my God this isn't supposed to happen. Nope get it off I'm done. Trash. As someone with super dry and sensitive skin, I love that I can slather on the cerave cream every night and morning and not feel guilty about the price! The fact that it’s simple and minimal is what works for me. And it doubles as my full body moisturizer and hand cream!
Because after twelve years of adult acne, I finally found products that work extremely well for my skin in conjunction with prescription medication. My dermatologist recommended them. Seriously, I’m 33 years old and this year I’m officially acne free. Cerave is great.
@@marianaleontina5195 The same for me. My skin has become at some point so reactive... I couldn't use any skincare product. I tried CeraVe because it has a simple formula and it saved my skin.
@@morgianasartre6709 well i dunno but im definitely a real person...and i can say that i went to three different dermatologists and they recommended expensive acne medications but they only worked temporarily (1-3 months) cera ve kept working.
@@traciltorres5507 I just saw this comment! I don't use their makeup removers but they have cleansers wipes and an oil-- I use Ponds unscented cold cream to oil cleanse and then wash it off with Vanicream
Small correction: The brand was independent and made by NJ company Valeant, until about 2016/7, when it was purchased by L’Oreal , which rolled it out internationally. It’s simple. It’s accessible. It works. Maybe not for *everyone* but that’s true of everything.
I was recommended Cera Ve in 2006 by my dermatologist and I have used it ever since. It used to be a really well kept secret and very reasonably priced. Now, because of all the hype it is often sold out and the price has skyrocketed. I will still be using it though because it remains my holy grail moisturizer.
A 59 year old problem disappeared thanks to CeraVe. Tried EVERYTHING from dermatologists. My daughters have the same skin issue and I was thrilled I could give them a bottle of CeraVe each that helped them. Now I’m trying out the SA smoothing cream on my scars with a formidable good effect. After several operations the skin around the scar is suffering, the delivery of nutrition to the skin seems to be disturbed, and the skin is always dead, grey and dry. I have tried it all, without any effect. The SA cream dissolves the dead skin cells within hours and lets new soft skin appear. It doesn’t treat the CAUSE which is on a cellular level, but it gives me joy to get rid of the dead grey skin. Sometimes the least impressive bottles are the ones that is worth gold. Like CeraVe, The Ordinary and Niod.
I'd use CeraVe if it wasn't so damn expensive in my country 🤣 CeraVe is considered almost luxury brand here 😂 It's always so funny to see products that are affordable for you out there being one of the most expensive products here.
exactly!!!!!! people in usa/uk are often recommending grand like vichy, la roche posay, avene and etc as “affordable drugstore brands” but here in brazil those brands are as expensive as skinceuticals
@@joaogabriel1820 none of those brands are cheap in the US just so you know the people who are saying those are cheap don't know what not being middle class is
@@angelicsailor1st Same in the UK. Even Cerave is like £10 for 200ml of cleanser (Which to me is quite expensive). So many skinfluencers don't understand what the word "Affordabe" really means and just assume that because it's sold in the drug store then it must be affordable when in fact it's not.
@@jenblack98 la roch posay is very pricey here $30 usd (a round 40 pounds) sometimes even high for the better products "affordable" means something different to everyone. Like you said some think if its drugstore its affordable but it's really not it's just readily available and over priced
I just love how simple and safe their products are, as a tretinoin user I always go for simple fragrance-free ingredients, and it's just perfect for that.
For me, I had tried everything else in the past, and thought CeraVe was kinda boring. One day I decided to give them a try, and-anecdotally-CeraVe just works for me. Sure, I wish they were cruelty free, but their products just work and I even happen to like the packaging.
My skin and I love CeraVe. There was an actual noticeable difference since I started using it. Living in a hot/humid climate it's not greasy, absorbs right in. Never made me breakout. Used SA cleanser, Resurfacing Serum and Moisturizing Cream on face and all over body.
It’s such a shame they’re not cruelty free, I love that they’re affordable and their formulas are not pretentious, when I’m having a really bad skin moment I know I can just use their cleanser and basic moisturiser and I’m good to go without further irritations
@@nnahler I hear ya plus it is hard to find at least for me. Only place in my area that sells it is Whole Foods and they only sell two of their products. Yes she is the best. I was worried about if she gets payed by some brands thou. But I think even if she gets payed she just honestly recomends what she actually loves for herself
I never used to use Cera Ve and then I found their SA cleanser and it genuinely made my breakouts nonexistent, and my skin is so soft. I hate brands that try to over-charge for basic products in the makeup and skin industry.
I absolutely love Cerave because it’s very effective and fair priced I don’t care about packaging what matters is the product working … not it looking pretty on the bathroom counter🙄..those are the products that don’t work 👎🏻 …Cerave Is a dermatologist recommended brand so it’s made to really be effective and help people understand ingredients and what they help with ..and their products are fragrance free.. 👍🏼 Hope Cerave never stops selling 🤗
I struggled with a huge break out last year, tried different benzoyl peroxide cleansers but was disappointed until I found Cerave's BP cleanser. Hands down best acne cleanser! I noticed and felt the difference within the first week of use!
I mainly use CeraVe because after several years of trying out many products, I finally found something that was compatible with my skin. There is really only one of their products that I'm super obsessed with, and that's the "Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser".
It's my favorite cleanser I've ever used. I've spent so much on cleansers in the past and for it to be so affordable for such a huge bottle I was blown tf away by it
I just got back from NYC, and the cleanser I brought with me absolutely WRECKED my skin the first night. Just wasn't right for the climate. The next morning I walked down to Walgreens and picked up a CeraVe moisturizing cleanser bar and a bottle of daily moisturizing lotion, and ah the RELIEF. the gentle, no BS ingredients was exactly what my skin needed. I wish I knew about them years ago!
I had the exact same thing happen when I went to NYC to work. I have ALWAYS had crazy super oily skin living in the Deep South. Got to NYC and my skin had a full on temper tantrum, lol.
I've never tried Cera Ve because I only buy cruelty free and vegan products. Luckily in Australia we have two brands, Ego Pharmaceuticals (who make QV products) and Dermaveen, who fit in with my ethics and sell really gentle, soothing products with ceramides.
@@Joanne_FijiGirl SO affordable! I recently replaced my old night creme with a Dermaveen moisturiser - $20 for 250ml! I can now afford more Korean serums!
Ive gotten great results from it personally. Ive been using it for years but I only use it overnight and with retinal by the ordinary. Besides that my daytime moisturizer is different except in the winter time. Vanicream facial cleanser has also given great results. I try and keep it simple and have improved my skin a lot!
I just started using this after several years of suffering rosacea and dermatitis and within a week my face looks completely different! I’m grateful for this product bc nothing else has worked! I’ve tried other fragrance free face lotions and they burned but this makes my skin so soft and I have zero reactions to it!
I love that you're honest about whether products are actually useful based on their ingredients, despite if you like them personally or not. And, sticking to your values! Not accepting money just for the sake of it if they don't follow your value of being cruelty free. Very inspiring!
My whole skin was basically acne free but my chin. I ended up switching my lotions and picked up Cerave, it cleared my chin acne within a week or so. I love it so much😩
@@sandra383sandra I used to use cetaphil, i used to love it but I switched my lotions once they came out with their new formula. It felt more thick and oily which lead to my breakouts. I also use paula choice exfoliant Wednesday’s and Sunday’s. Hope it helps :)
Basically means that they aren't tested on animals, example, normally a large part of an animal is shaved, a cream is only put on one half of that area, it's exposed to radiation for hours that burns the skin on the side without cream, sometimes even the side of the cream will hurt the animal because of chemicals. Today living tissue can be created where these chemicals can be tested without the need to use animals. Having the "cruelty free" logo doesn't guarantee that it's 100%, it doesn't guarantee that it will not harm animals in other ways, but I think it' a good way to start becoming aware of the problem
The wash breaks out my sensitive skin as well as Cetaphil. Not sure why. But! Even though the vast 80% or more of what is in my drawers for skin is cruelty free. I do use cera ve spf 30 w/ ceramides. I have such a hard time finding a sun screen that does not break me out. And a smart girl named Cassandra said that “the right spf is the one that you will use” hehe.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and a month of radiation turned perfectly good skin into the consistency of fried chicken. CeraVe was recommended by the docs who said to keep my breast always extremely slathered in moisturizer.
I hope you heal quickly. Have you asked your doctor about taking the supplement L-Glutamine? I take it for digestive issues but read it can help people recover from surgery, radiation treatment, burns, or muscle recovery. It's an amino acid.
@@kathygann7632 yes unfortunately there had been a link with parabens and breast cancer . I’m sure if you Google it there will be some info , good luck , did the cream work for you tho ? I have the worst chapped hands ever
I appreciate this video very much. I have acute eczema since childhood and for years my dermatologists were giving me samples and encouraging me to lather in Cetaphil. By the age of 25, living in the Caribbean my skin barrier was so damaged and dry because no matter how much amount of Cetaphil I lathered in the morning or after shower, no matter how many cortisone creams or allergy pills I took, my face and body skin erupted badly. It was after a full allergy test in an Allergist Center that I found I was allergic to many food items including nuts. Cetaphil had Macadamia oil and my allergist suggested to switch to CeraVe. My life changed the moment this happened. Cannot understand why doctors prescribe or encourage these items when they don't work for everybody. No brand is perfect and I wish there were many more natural, eco-friendly options to try and proven by science that do not damage my skin but so far I have not been able to find a brand that meets all the boxes. CeraVe works for me so far but after this video, I am left wondering what other options are out there that care for the planet and earth and are not animal tested, will start researching more... thank you for sharing this.
I like Cera VE products, but also use items from other brands as well, most of which are cruelty free. It has a degree of importance to me but isn't a complete deal breaker. I do hope that they make that move in the future. I reside in the Upper Midwest with often subzero winter weather and lots of forced air heating and Cera VE has been better than a lot of the products I've tried to combat that.
I love CeraVe. It is literally the only brand that doesn't break me out. In my country, unfortunately, there is nothing similar to CeraVe, at this price point. I try my best to choose cruelty-free cosmetics, but when it comes to CeraVe, there is simply no alternative where I live.
I remember when Cerave was hyped up on social media my Target was out of Cerave products for weeks. I loved the BP Acne Cleanser but had to find something else since it was not in stock. The PM moisturizer was my first face moisturizer I loved years ago. My BF suffers from acne, oily, and sensitive skin so Cerave’s cream cleanser works great for him and always goes back to it when he tries something new. As an affordable no frills this what you get line it’s pretty good.
Cerve was my starting point in good skincare. I was always into skincare but didn't know best. I'm a millennial and i used stridex, st Ives, clean and clear, and sometimes Neutrogena, and no sunscreen thinking i was doing an amazing job because at least i would always wash my face at night. But i have learned thanks to my cousin who became an esthetician and showing me your channel which then showed me other skinfluencers like Dr. drey and Hyram.
I may be wrong but I believe CeraVe does not test on animals themselves, but they do sell in countries that require their products to be tested, but for the United States they do not test. So the testing is third party as they want to sell in places like China. It becomes a moral grey area because in order for the brand to stop testing entirely then have to stop selling to entire countries which would limit access to people who may need the products.
It is not unreasonable to ask brands to stop selling to countries that require animal testing or to enter into new agreements that prohibit animal testing. I believe this is happening with some brands that do business with China for this very reason (i.e., consumers don't want to support animal testing and China doesn't want to lose access to these goods). But to your point, it's not a moral grey area. For example, if you pay a company tthat happens to have someone shoot dogs for them in another country, you're still responsible because you gave the company money, which they used to support their dog-shooting practices. Your dollar is your vote, so if you give your money to companies that test on animals, you're saying it's okay and that there are no economic incentives for them to stop testing on animals.
I've mentioned several times on this channel how much I love the face&body Cerave cream. Started using it yrs ago because I was looking for an affordable cream for my dry skin with mild rosacea. Cerave was at the bottom of my list of creams to try just because I had to order it online, and couldnt get it in store here in Croatia. But when I did get to it, I never stopped. A year ago it finally arrived in stores here, so it's even easier for me to get it. Don't have the urge to try other cerave products just cause I already have, for example, a great afordable cleanser. No need to change it
I had to use it recently, as my normal moisturizer wasn’t handy. I was impressed by the ingredients, but put off by the lack of animal cruelty endorsement. That one should be a no-brainer for any cosmetics company, IMO. As for Skinfluencer culture, I find it deplorable that there are people who know literally nothing about what they’re putting on their skin, but have access to great photography, makeup, lighting and filters, and tens of thousands of people LISTEN to these idiots. It’s mind-boggling. I’m happy to have found this channel. It’s so nice to have a Skinfluencer with a brain and standards! Keep it up!!! Side note - I’m so over L’Oréal buying every decent line out there. Is it every emerging skin company’s exit strategy? SMH.
I love CeraVe, well my skin does, as much as I am trying to go cruelty free, every moisturiser irritates me, breaks me out, or something else..... tried half of products you have recommended instead of CeraVe in other video (other half gets too expensive to get shipped to here), but time and time I find myself going back to CeraVe. So I think CeraVe is popular, because its very price accessible and it does what its says it does.
I have been using Cerav for three months. My eye bags have decreased and wrinkles around and above my eyes have demished. Carav also has a product that addresses skin breakouts. The sun screen is not pasty, it is spa 30 with Vit. C. The products contain 3 Ceramides which is the "glue" holding the cells together. It also has peptides and I use the product that contains Retinol serum. You will have to be careful with Retinol, it can case irritation and pealing, I use the skin renewing Retinol serum, it has caused no problem for me. Each person has to decide which products best suited for their skin type, I just wanted to give you the other side. Blessings
I love CeraVe. My sensitive skin reacts to other moisturizers (even for sensitive skin) but CeraVe is just a soothing, cooling cream. But I love animals so it's the inkey list next
I had a horrible experience with Cetaphil which made me skip cerave until much later and turns out it's my safe go to. Similar simple, non irritating skincare that I reacted to so differently.
I had such dry and skin barrier damage, I decided to buy this moisturizer and the first moment I put this on my skin I felt a relieved in my skin . I’m already seeing such a difference and feeling such a relief and the redness and inching is almost gone. Thanks to cerave
I'm 45 years old and been using various products (olay, ponds, etc), lol. 😄 Until i discovered proper skincare early this year (yup, at 45 years old!!). And Cerave totally made an amazingly huge difference in my skin.. 💞
I started using The Inkey list products about a month an a half ago after watching your videos and love, love, love them!! Cruelty free!!! I even gifted my youngest daughter who's 18, my nieces and my younger sister their own skincare routine from the Inkey list for Christmas!!
Hi! Loreal is now cruelty-free. Does anyone happen to know if this applies to all of the brands they've acquired, including Cerave? Additionally, China does make some exceptions in terms of animal testing for well-tolerated ingredients. All of this seems like a confusing grey area. Would love to get some more facts. Thanks for all the information.
I started using CeraVe after watching Dr. Dray about a year ago. I had not seen a friend for several months. When we finally got together she asked me what I had done "dermalogically" I laughed and replied "I wish!' She literally thought I had something done to my face because me skin looked so good. Literally, the only change I made was using CeraVe SA cleanser (with my Clarisonic *gasp*) and the regular moisturizer. Never going back to over priced skin care. New to your channel - thanks for the information!
I am right there with you! It's a perfectly fine product, but I refuse to purchase anything by a company that is still not cruelty free! I stopped buying L'Oreal products years ago. There are many products that are as good, if not better, that have better moral values as well. Thank you for bringing this up.
I use several products from CereVe, but I don't use CereVe exclusively. I have to use fragrance free, so finding products that work is a challenge. In the past I've bounced around using the "next big thing" (i.e. the Inkey List) and I'm usually disappointed. CereVe rarely disappoints.
100 %! I don't think anything is worth buying if it's not cruelty free. Like you said there is always an alternative. I appreciate you so much Cassandra. Can't get enough of your videos. 💗🐶
Thank you so much for calling this out hun.. great video and I hope that this is the year people will really start to think about Cerave and whether it actually works for them or whether they are just buying it because of influencers supporting them.. Cruelty Free rules and I hope 2022 is the year we finally do away with animal testing. Love xxxxx
Honestly, It worked great for me. I tried everything, then like your said , it was everywhere, so I figured I'd try it. My gave b had never felt softer and it just feels nicer , but I'm here to learn!!
Honestly if there's any brand I'm suspicious of in the "skin-influencers" world it will be ( The Inkey List ) they're mega releasing products with very vague percentages, their products are always out of stock, the worst part is everyone keeps praising talking nonstop about their products claiming they're the unsung hero that saved their skin, I'm so over seeing them in YT videos, I'm glad Sarah over NoBsBeauty pointed all of that out in one of her videos, I think Rob over Mad about Skin did another video about them so that's a sort of relief I guess to c ppl r noticing what's happening with them
I put The Ordinary over The Inkey List all day any day. TIL formulates its products to lighter textures so that they give a better feeling when applied. Other than that, The Ordinary wins every other aspect. Talking potency, variety of products, informativeness, etc.
Yes, I’ve tried to love The Inkey List but their products felt like they were lower quality compared to The Ordinary. I started to side eye the people who were trying so hard to discredit TO
yes!! i also hate how they’re lumped in with all of the affordable brands, when a lot of what they sell is so small that it ends up being way more expensive :/
I love CeraVe. I have oily skin but also very dehydrated skin. A weird combination to have and I've always struggled with really large pores and texture. Going even one day without washing my face makes my face feel like oily sand paper. The new Hydrating Foaming Cleanser CeraVe came out with is the only cleanser I've ever used that has both calmed the redness, hydrated my skin and cleansed it all at the same time. It might be a super basic brand but it's the most effective I've personally ever found and I've tried SO much.
The CeraVe Baby was the only thing my son's dry eczema skin would tolerate when he was a baby. It was far better than even the Aveeno eczema line. I've liked the regular line for my uber sensitive skin. Honestly I'd rather use it than most expensive brands.
I've had atopic dermatitis since I was a baby, for 25 years. I never had found a lotion that really worked for me. My entire life I jumped around from one moisturiser to another because nothing ever worked. When I went to uni, my skin got so much worse and it wouldn't get better. Eventually I accepted the worsened condition as the default and gave up. But!! My brother who lives in the US brought me CeraVe for me to try. And Boom! Dermatitis gone. Now I use it every night and every morning, and my skin doesn't bother me any more. Sometimes when I get lazy and forget to apply for a while, and I feel my skin getting dry and starting to break out again. So I'm reminded to apply again, and usually after a week it goes away.
I started using Cera Ve in 2020 when I was on accutane and since I haven't dared using anything else. I've been suffering from acne for 10 years (Acne free for 1) and I still have that fear that anything could cause it to come back :')
I'm one of the people who never knew about Cerave until I heard the influences talking about it. I tried it and I LOVE IT. I love the simple ingredients and it's not irritating to my skin. I'm 53 and Skincare has been important to me so I've always invested $$$ into what I thought should be good & beneficial products. Some were great, some not. I'm thrilled to have discovered Cerave and plan to keep using it because I like it so much.
I have very sensitive, dry skin but would never try Cerave because it’s not cruelty free and contains petrochemicals that my skin doesn’t like. I’m loving the Ceramedx line, especially the one you listed.
I didn't know Cera VE was highly recommended, or that there's any controversy about it. It's just a moisturizer. I tried it once when I had some dry skin issues and was looking for a good lotion. I liked it but found it a bit greasy. It did help my skin. I've bought it a few times since then, but I found I actually prefer Gold Bond Pure Moisture Body and Face Lotion. Not greasy at all and no fragrance, which I always look for. Can't stand fragrance in products.
Unfort no cruelty free brand has been able to replicate the simplicity and effectiveness of CeraVe's basic moisturizing cream, at least in my experience. They all add these bells and whistles that don't need to be there.
@@emmaquaghebeur5325 they sure do 😭 if I could get a tube of a cruelty-free basic moisturizer with petrolatum and ceramides for less than $10 per ounce that would be excellent

Hi Cass it doesn't work for me. I live in the UK (Scotland) and cereve appeared here a couple of years ago. I was excited to try it after seeing it everywhere in the beauty social media. I bought the hydrating cleanser, the night moisturiser and the large tub of cream. The cleanser is ok on me, but I like others far more. Both moisturisers really stung/burned on my skin of the face/neck/chest, although I used them up on the body under my richer eczema cream. I have both rosacea and eczema - so my skin is very dry and ultra sensitive. it REALLY doesn't work for me at all. Testing on animals for cosmetics has been banned in Europe for decades and before accessing social media re beauty products I hadn't realised it was still so commonplace tbh. I prefer to buy cruelty free, although I have had to decide not to let what China does influence my purchases - so many of the European brands I have used so successfully do sell in China. Many are taking advantage of the new workaround re testing and will be fully cruelty free very shortly though. I don't get the cereve hype tbh, as there are many many products/brands i like better. i often don't really get on well with hyped products though, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Best wishes.
Hi could you suggest some products/brands that work for you because I have your skin type and I hated Cerave it stung my face and gave me red patches on my cheeks. Thank you.
@@saralibby4686 Hi Avene and LRP sensitive skin fragrance free lines work well for me, as do some of the Korean beauty brands eg cosrx, dear, Klairs etc. I also like some niod and Paula's choice. Trying mini's/travel sizes is a good way not to waste too much money if they don't suit. Often I can use it on the body if it's not suitable for the face. Ingredients like allantoin, panthenol and centella are often god on my skin. What works for me may not still work for you unfortunately. I live in the UK, so that plays into my choices too - different brands cost various prices depending on where you live. I hope that helps.
I like them,it is affordable and does work here we don't have a lot of skin care brends,a lot of them are incredibly expensive or well bad so it is nice to have one that is good for my skin and my bank account
I’ve been using CeraVe for decades. I’m 56, and was born with horrible eczema. It was so bad that I was hospitalized at times. I outgrew it by the time I was 18, but I still have dry skin. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream is a lifesaver. Not too thick and goopy, and absorbs into my skin without leaving greasy residue.
I used the CeraVe eye cream and it felt like it burnt my eyes and I got it with the moisturizer with 30FPS because I'm normally indoors but the absorption was terrible and left an oily look on my face I used it twice and hated it, but the girl that recommended it to me loves it so you are totally right on how people' skin react differently to products
Although it wasn’t until very recent that I had bought skincare from drugstore…I am with those who don’t know what the hype is; however after hearing Hyram sing it’s praises abundantly I was in a pinch and needed some skincare so I decided to try it. Don’t know why it has the following it does, but I am not a fan of CereVe since it did nothing for my skin.XOXOXO
I 25 F, absolutely love cerave. I use the 4% benzoyl peroxide foaming cream cleanser, the makeup removing balm, the hydrating cleanser and the nightly exfoliating treatment, although even though it says nightly dr dray says it can be used night and day paired with a sunscreen, which is what I do. I used to have really bad acne and I cleared it up with combination birth control pills, but I still have acne scars, texture problems and I would get small blackheads/white heads here and there. Ever since I started using cerave products, especially the acne wash and exfoliating treatment I’ve noticed a HUGE improvement in my breakouts, clogged pores and skin texture. I don’t break out anymore and my nose and chin pores have cleared up a bit as well. Im going to try and incorporate their skin renewing retinol serum at some point but im really happy with my skin right now and im happy with sticking to this routine for the time being. My AM routine is: cerave hydrating cleanser, then I put on the benzoyl peroxide cream cleanser ON TOP of the hydrating cleanser and rub it in together. I found that putting the hydrating cleanser on first helps the acne cleanser not be so drying and stripping to the skin. Then I use the cerave nightly exfoliating treatment, I top that with aveenos oat gel moisturizer and top that with Tulsa’s mineral magic spf 30 liquid sunscreen. PM routine: cerave makeup removing cleansing balm, I wash that off with the cerave acne cream foaming cleanser (I don’t use the cerave hydrating cleanser at night), then I use the cerave nightly exfoliating treatment, I seal that in with the Dr Jart Ceramidin cream. Sometimes I will use a clay mask from ZitSticka, I like Peter Thomas Roths 21 peptide exfoliating pads (it’s a rinse off treatment), I like the ZitSticka press refresh exfoliating mask as well it has AHA, BHA & PHA in it so it’s a really nice mask
Honestly I'm not sure you can really overhype a product that's affordable and effective for the vast majority of users. Is there a product/brand that's truly more accessible and beloved than the CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion? Hard to overhype the best (in the simplicity and accessibility realm at least), right?
Annoyed that I’m not going to get the time I spent watching this video back. Cereve has changed my skin in the last year and a half. I use their face wash and night lotion with sunscreen in the day, that’s all. It’s super affordable, fragrance free and straight to the point. Nothing you listed as a cereve alternative is as affordable as Cereve.
I agree! I've been using the night cream for 4 months now, and it has been amazing for my skin. I have sensitive dry skin with a few small dark spots, and it has helped immensely with that!
I do love cerave but I didnt know they weren't cruelty free. Definitely going to check out your video on similar products. I hope there's products that are affordable cuz I'm broke lol
ive been trying to find info on this and apparently it depends on where you are. as of 2021 september they dont contain animal derived ingredients (some used to contain ingredients made from beeswax or wool) and in 1989 L’Oréal completely ceased testing its products on animals (claim made by brand) what many people label as misleading is the fact that they do say that theres exceptions by third parties where required by law, but i dont think thats misleading. in the us and eu products, theres been no animal testing
I tried a Cetaphil cleanser and lotion and it tore my skin apart and made it go numb. I then tried Cera/Ve and it healed my skin with the lotion and I have been using the Cera/Ve ever since and it is healing my rosacea and I am really happy with it!!!
lol never really understood the cruelty free movement I mean sure you care so much about animals but you are willing to buy something made in China that is basically made by slave labor... or the chocolate we buy from the store (look at netflix documentary Rotten) again basically slave labor --> the brainwashing 😂😂😂
I bought the moisturizer because of a Dr Dray recommendation and was majorly impressed how it lessened the appearance of my smile lines literally overnight. I guess since it moistures so well. It has become a staple for me!
Lmao I remember using all these types of fancy cleansers and other stuff. Literally tried the CeraVe Foaming facial cleanser and it honestly helped calm my skin more than anything I've ever tried. I suffer with acne and irritating fragrances and loaded products irritates my skin.
I appreciate CeraVe although it bothers me in some ways. Like that it claims to be formulated for "very dry" skin which I have, yet all of their creams and lotions together aren't enough to moisturize my face sufficiently. It also really bothers me that every product has hyaluronic acid in it, I feel it's the thing that irritates and dehydrates a lot of people's skins, including mine. I really wish they would bring out some heavier creams with things like squalene, panthenol, oils and shea butter and that they would leave hyaluronic acid alone. I like the pm lotion in the summer as a day moisturizer and i like their basic cream for my hands and sometimes body. I love the price and accessibility and that there are no fragrance and bullshit ingredients in it. I see how people who don't have a desert for their face absolutely love it.
I have very dry skin as well and i find that using a hydrating toner before applying a thick fatty moisturizer is what made a difference in my routine.
Looking forward for this one, i like the products and they worked great for me, but it's just a skin care brand, one of many, no need for people to obsess over it😅
Tried to like it, but gave me a terrible irritation for at least two weeks. Love ceremedx, I still use it when I need a break. Will use inkey which is great!
Okay, so every specialty in healthcare has product reps. Dentistry has them too. We get no incentive from the company for recommending their products. In fact they have no way of tracking how much we recommend products. So this is what happens when product reps come in…they come in give us free samples. Want to talk forever. Try to tell us all the Latest products etc. we get annoyed bc they’re quite literally wasting our time. We hear them out bc everyone loves samples. But our opinion on products come from patient and personal satisfaction as well as the science and research (not provided by a rep). These OTC products aren’t paying us big bucks. They’re paying us nothing, but free samples.
I have used CeraVe for a long time, both their cleansers and moisturizers...but...since I started watching your videos I have become more aware off what I'm putting on my face and body and being a good student as I am I turn and learn. So I looked into CeraVe more thorough and saw that they are not cruelty free...so no more CeraVe for me.
CeraVe is a solid brand, and if it were cruelty free and vegan I would probably have stuck with it. That said, I actually prefer some other brands, including Ceramedx, which doesn’t get the mainstream love it deserves. If I were in a situation where I needed to buy skincare in a brick and mortar drugstore in a pinch, I would absolutely but CeraVe, but I reorder products I like before I hit pan to avoid that.
Cassandra!!! I have been using cerave for a long time because is so recommended, cheap and sells everywhere! However I did NOT know they were not cruelty free. I am vegetarian and against companies that use animals for testing. Never again will I buy this brand and will make sure to spread the message... This is why I love your videos and your morals!! Thanks a lot for opening my eyes, love you ❤️
I have naturally dry skin. I’m also a full body shaver which dries my skin out even more so I need extra moisturizing. I heard so many good things about Cerave. Picked it up at the store. Was even given a “good choice 👍 ” by the Walmart employee who handed me the bottle lol But i was surprised to find that Cerave did nothing for me. My skin dried just the same like I had nothing on. Typically I use thick ointments like Vaseline or Aquaphor because they work. But recently I’ve been trying out lighter cream moisturizers and so far, Eucerin Advanced Therapy is what works for me all day. I don’t like putting on too many products. Just one and done. And Eucerin delivers.
*What do you think about the hype?* 🤔

I think I it’s for the bare minimum and can you make a video of why your cruelty free please! :) I know about skincare just not what cruelty is free and the behind of it all
You talk about importance of studies. So how do you have studies that’ll be creulty free?
I like Cerave because I want to be compliant with doctors orders but after I run out, definitely taking some of the cruelty free options for approval. Thanks always for what you do!
Do you have an alternative for the Cerave Resurfacing Retinol Serum? Thank you Big Sister!!

I was recommended Cera Ve in 2006 by my dermatologist and I have used it ever since. It used to be a really well kept secret and very reasonably priced. Now, because of all the hype it is often sold out and the price has skyrocketed. I will still be using it though because it remains my holy grail moisturizer.
amazon always has it available.

I would love a video on what it actually means to be a “cruelty free” brand
I dont think this is the channel for that. Theres plenty of info out there for that.
@@persia888 it’s probably the person making the videos that decides what kind of content they make and what feedback they want to listen to..

Ceramedx ....cruelty free "dupe" for CeraVe
@Cheryl Reitz where do you get it, i havnt seen that anywhere
I love CeraVe. It is literally the only brand that doesn't break me out. In my country, unfortunately, there is nothing similar to CeraVe, at this price point. I try my best to choose cruelty-free cosmetics, but when it comes to CeraVe, there is simply no alternative where I live.
The same happens for me, it's the only thing that was worked for my keratosis pilaris
SMH.
I love how your explanation of the moisture barrier and soap just immediately made me think of a cast iron pan.
Blessings

I love that you promote using cruelty free 💜
Love xxxxx
Cera Ve actually works for me. I have sensitive skin and I don’t buy into hype / fads. I also majored in science for my undergrad degree.
@@jivillain strongly agree ❤
@@jivillain agree 100%.
@@emmaquaghebeur5325 they sure do 😭 if I could get a tube of a cruelty-free basic moisturizer with petrolatum and ceramides for less than $10 per ounce that would be excellent
but one's life is worth more than skincare
@@mapofthesoultagme7143 true! But I think it's erroneous to put the responsibility on the consumer and not the companies. Even so, I am trying to switch to all cruelty-free... It's just really hard to find good simple products
@@egnicole what about finding things online? I agree that there are people in special circumstances but people should still try their best even it's not perfect. Even if you step on a person's foot or cause a car crash accidently, for example, it doesn't mean that you should do it on purpose.

CeraVe face washes and creams are a lifesaver. They have helped me so much and I will continue to keep using them. They are amazing.
I like them,it is affordable and does work
here we don't have a lot of skin care brends,a lot of them are incredibly expensive or well bad
so it is nice to have one that is good for my skin and my bank account
I’ve been using CeraVe for decades. I’m 56, and was born with horrible eczema. It was so bad that I was hospitalized at times. I outgrew it by the time I was 18, but I still have dry skin. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream is a lifesaver. Not too thick and goopy, and absorbs into my skin without leaving greasy residue.
I love how you stand for cruelty free skin products you are a great example ♥️
Cruelty Free CereVe Dupe: *Ceramedx* Ultra Moisturizing Cream, Fragrance-Free
I honestly think cera ve is a lil over hyped but cera ve indeed has good formulations and it's affordable
Same! Its just like… the base ingredient for lotion and skincare minus the bells and whistles like perfumes
@@Kiterpuss mhm I agree...
Yes I unsubscribed months ago. I'll have to find a way to block seeing the videos.

@@kadzo6614 that was not called for, grow up.
ive been trying to find info on this and apparently it depends on where you are. as of 2021 september they dont contain animal derived ingredients (some used to contain ingredients made from beeswax or wool) and in 1989 L’Oréal completely ceased testing its products on animals (claim made by brand) what many people label as misleading is the fact that they do say that theres exceptions by third parties where required by law, but i dont think thats misleading. in the us and eu products, theres been no animal testing
I tried a Cetaphil cleanser and lotion and it tore my skin apart and made it go numb. I then tried Cera/Ve and it healed my skin with the lotion and I have been using the Cera/Ve ever since and it is healing my rosacea and I am really happy with it!!!
I enjoy the facial cleansers by Cera Ve but I REALLY wish they were cruelty free! Thanks for always sharing alternatives - I will check them out!
Me too the cleansers work so well on sensitive skin!
Aren’t most of the medicines are tested on animals?
Yes, I wish everything is cruelty fee. But still love CereVe.
lol never really understood the cruelty free movement I mean sure you care so much about animals but you are willing to buy something made in China that is basically made by slave labor... or the chocolate we buy from the store (look at netflix documentary Rotten) again basically slave labor --> the brainwashing 😂😂😂
@@tudor_trader I guess they dnt know that slave labour thing and they just wanna feel like doing something good.
@@Yulia.chandrika true, but IMO we live in a society out of sight out of mind.
I use cera ve but did not know its NOT cruelty free. I'm going to watch your video on cruelty free products. Thank you!
Not being cruelty free is the nail in the coffin for me, there's just no excuse for that anymore.
Looking forward for this one, i like the products and they worked great for me, but it's just a skin care brand, one of many, no need for people to obsess over it😅
Just started on CeraVe. I struggle with hormonal acne on combination dry skin and I'm at my 40's, and I must say, so far so good... I'm in SA🇿🇦
Tried to like it, but gave me a terrible irritation for at least two weeks.
Love ceremedx, I still use it when I need a break. Will use inkey which is great!
Ceramedx is GREAT
Okay, so every specialty in healthcare has product reps.
We didn't have cerave before in my country. Then loreal bought it and WHABAM! it's everywhere!!
I prefer Eucerin to CeraVe... my "luxury" skin care isn't helping my dry skin, Eucerin has though. $11. Win win!
Thanks a lot for opening my eyes, love you ❤️
Check out Ceramedex! I love their moisturizers, haven’t tried their cleanser yet!
u should probs check ur other products
I have naturally dry skin. I’m also a full body shaver which dries my skin out even more so I need extra moisturizing.
I heard so many good things about Cerave. Picked it up at the store. Was even given a “good choice 👍 ” by the Walmart employee who handed me the bottle lol
But i was surprised to find that Cerave did nothing for me.
