What Cassandra said about sleeping with that salicylic acid thing on, so relatable... I mean, how many of us overused a product or did something stupid (in hindsight) when we were younger, hoping for a miracle, for a speedy magical result, or piled something thickly to cover up everything. I'm 36 and my mother did not allow me to wear any makeup, so just imagine my suffering... I have had my 12 year old on a skin care routine since she was 9. I started with acne around that age and she was starting to show signs. She loved the idea about having a routine like mommy. I started her on a simple one. Cleanser is the vanicream gentle cleanser, and oat so simple face cream and then SPF. That’s for the AM. And at night she uses cerave SA because it’s gentle and helps her oily skin so much. Then again oat so simple at night. She’s got beautiful skin. Less is more for the little ones.
I have put my 7 yr old into skincare and spf, only drawback is I have to make fake TH-cam video for her to to do it. Hahah, do not want her to go through what I have been with. So, I do not mind.
This is perfect! I was looking for an easy and gentle routine for my 9yo (he's starting to show signs of acne as well) and I just happen to stumble across your amazing comment. Definitely using as inspiration🥰tyty💕
I think they took it down because it looks like she’s using a skin filter. They recently banned that in the UK, as in you’re not allowed to use a beauty filter when advertising or using skincare or makeup. It does look like she’s using one she has no pores and her eyes are exaggeratingly bright
She's not using a filter, she just has a ring light 10 centimetres from her face. That will blur out any pores and make your eyes shine like you're dropped an E.
She’s definitely using a filter. The mole above her right collarbone lightens & completely disappears sometimes. Dead giveaway, only a filter will do that, especially with as much light as she has on her
@@bums009 In many European countries the mention of a product is considered advertising. Germany’s law for instance, demands that influencers disclose as “unpaid advertising” any posts/videos where they mention product, even if they bought it themselves. It’s a matter of legislation in the country that has jurisdiction over the public figure/content creator ;)
Love that you brought up how sometimes we aren't taught things and not doing them becomes a habit! Sure, we have the responsibility to learn things ourselves at a certain point, but the factor of early education is so important!!
Even the thought of having a responsibility as you get older needs teaching, If you don't know what other people are doing then how would you know to do it yourself. Humans don't just "figure things out" we either see, hear, or are taught. I love the acceptance of this channel because people tend to treat not knowing as this horrible thing when really it shouldn't be.
I know life is unfair but I just have to say this. It's so goddamn unfair that some of us are so careful with our skin, do countless hours of research on skincare, use products with minimal ingredients (no fragrance, no essential oils etc.) and still suffer with acne, large pores, redness....and then you get people who literally just wipe their face with a nasty ass makeup wipe and still have perfect skin. Like why universe?? 😑
@@luxmuse5973 I second this. I get hormonal cheek acne with gluten/wheat. It only takes 12 hours after eating bread and bam! A stupid deep blind pimple that never erupts and out stays it's welcome far too long! Definitely worth finding your triggers. Generally for women the Endocrine system is a bitch. So higher sugar intake equals higher insulin, which affects the thyroid and the ovaries. It's all linked to Thyroid and PCOS-ey like symptoms. Higher sugar means high androgens and high estrogen. Hence by BEAUTIFUL moustache and chin hairs too. 🤦♀️
I believe that sometimes you can take caring too far, like leave your skin alone for a while and see if it gets better. I had eczema on my arms and I used to put all kinds of creams that were recommended to me on it in hopes that it would go away but things ended up getting worse. Finally I put everything down and just left my skin alone (except for taking showers of course) and it actually cleared up after a few weeks.

Just a little thing: There is actually a long-term study (LINA by the German research centre Helmholtz-Zentrum) that involved pregnant women who used various paraben-containing products during pregnancy. The butylparaben seemed to have led to epigenetic changes in their infants, which then led to a lower sense of satiety and excess weight (compared to babies whose mothers didn't use products containing parabens during pregnancy). This correlation was also found in studies with mice and their offspring. So parabens in cosmetic products are probably fine for grown ups in general, but pregnant women should probably steer clear.
Yeah I recently learned about the EWG, parabens, lilial, etc. I know some of it is bullshit but if pregnant I'd imagine it's better to spend money to avoid all that tbh. I only looked into this because I plan on getting pregnant hopefully soon. I'm not going to buy products that are a bit questionable any longer.
I think I need to call my mom up and thank her for teaching me life and practical skills. From a marketing perspective, I think maybe reason they took it down its because Anne talked about that initial moisturizer and how she doesnt use it anymore. Cassandra mentioned how other celebrities had been endorsing it on that platform too. But, personally, that was just her being very authentic and honest like, genuinely, a really good and relatable routine overall so I don't think it needed to get taken down for that reason. Weleda is not a brand that heavily advertises so I doubt it. I’ve been using their products my entire life, as my mum was using organic everything way before it was hip and it’s a brand that has a long-standing solid reputation. They’ve been making pretty much the same products since I was a kid, and I’m pretty sure some influencers now ‘discovering’ some of their products is more something that just happened to them than anything else 😅
I found her extremely relatable. She was honest with what didn't work for her & what works for her now.. She wasn't trying to push expensive sponsored product which i found to be so refreshing.
I am gonna just go call my mother 💗💗 bless her heart- she taught me to take care of my skin when I was 14... For what skincare was in the early 90's (she was only 35) taught me to save, how to balance a checkbook/bank account and indeed how to file taxes.
Lucky! I was 15 when I noticed girls in my school had soft hands and legs ( catholic schools made us wear uniform skirts and shirts with really long and thick socks) but you could see the knees and mine where ashy and darker and my hands crusty and ashy I felt so ashamed and sad... When I told my mom she then also REALIZED she never ever taught me to use cream or anything then when I discovered it I have never stopped taking care of my skin and actually I look a lot younger than those girls now... Yet still new on new face routines to improve my routine.
I loved how genuine Anna Marie was in the video. And I look at her skin, hair, eye color, and as a cosmetologist, I cannot fathom why she wants to be tan.
That sunscreen is mineral in the US, but in the UK and Europe where she got it, it's a chemical sunscreen with La Roche Posay's proprietary EU filters, actually amazing in sun protection quality!
@@N-HTTi It's not greasy at all! It's one of the most popular spfs in the EU for a reason. It instantly melts in to the skin and is easy to apply. No sticky or greasy texture, great for oily/combo skin. It's not a gel consistency though, its a runny liquid sunscreen.

That La Roche-Posay sunscreen is known as the "Shaka Fluide". It's not mineral, and not readily available in the US market because of the advanced filters used. People in the US still manage to obtain this sunscreen though with a bit of effort.
I love this sunscreen. But I don’t get why people say that it isn’t greasy. That’s not the case for me. Maybe the initial first layer but when reapplied during the day it sure is greasy haha.

I have sensitive dry skin with eczema, so I don’t use heavy exfoliant, or chemical ones, because they start to burn. If I try something and it burns, other than my lotions(which sting slightly when out on patches of eczema, all of my lotions have done that), than I wash it off, cleanse, and moisturize without that product

Back in my day (circa stone age days) we had mandatory home EC classes that taught us general skin care routines, house cleaning skills, sewing and cooking basics. Guys and gals took it and we had a lot of fun. We learned how to do laundry and a write checks, all the basic things you needed to go to survive.
We had something similar when I was in middle school (2010s, not stone age lol) but we didn’t have skincare or financial stuff, only cooking and cleaning.

Really happy for you now. You are (and have always been) amazing. Wish you the best.
Cassandra, you’re doing so such a great job in educating. I’ve learned so much from you! Love watching your videos and love your personality! Also, I really need a version of you that is into hair products, so that I can stop wasting my money on products that don’t work😄
Many people (including me) complain that they were not taught basic life skills by their parents or school, but yet the applaud our modern society. As recent as the 60s and 70s school home economics taught everything from basic home making (meal planning, shopping, cooking, cleaning, organization, money skills) and many schools have done away with it because it was labeled 'sexist'. Our society is degenerating
I took a home ec class in middle school and loved it but since I was on the "advanced" diploma track I never got to take any more classes like that or shop, those classes were for the "dumb" kids. I now know that sentiment is BS, real life skills > than most college degrees. Starting work and businesses immediately after high school really gives a leg up. I hope people can get over the fact that having a worthless college degree+100k debt only to work in a cubicle is the way to advance in life.
honestly her skincare routine was kinda like mine lmaooo i use avocado oil or jojoba to remove makeup, cleanser, and then moisturizer. sometimes i use an under eye cream, sometimes a sheet mask here and there. but my skin hates when i use too many products so i’ve learned to keep it super minimal
Honestly, I bet they just uploaded the video early and it was meant to go up the next day or at a later time. I've seen a few channels who post their videos too early or wrong day and will delete until it was when it was "scheduled" for.

The video seems fine and I don’t know why it would have been deleted. But more importantly, I was struck by why you would go through all this trouble to dig up a deleted video, but you wouldn’t put the time into researching a company like The Body Shop. To my knowledge it has NEVER been an MLM (not that being an MLM company is bad anyway. Some MLM,s are scams, but not all). The Body Shop was founded by Anita Roddick in the UK in 1976. She started the company to help support herself and her children while her husband was abroad. She helped pioneer the concepts of sustainability in cosmetics through refillable packaging, use of natural ingredients, responsible sourcing of ingredients, fair trade and NO ANIMAL TESTING! The company got bought by L’Oreal in 2007 and then by Natura & Co in 2016 and still maintain the same values that Anita Roddick implemented in the beginning ( minus the refillable packaging). No, their ingredients might not be considered “clean” ( I don’t really know as I’ve never analyzed them), but I don’t think they’re the worst either. To say that The Body Shop was at any time an MLM company is inaccurate and disrespectful to the woman who not only founded the company, but was also an activist who was responsible for starting a movement for social and ethical change in the cosmetic industry.
Anne-Marie is so down to earth person. She doesn't really like to apply makeup much. I've seen alot of her without makeup pictures ( without filter, without ring light)
I've tried to teach my mom skincare but she's not really interested. She usually doesn't use makeup, but when she does she uses makeup wipes, no moisturizer, and then complains about how dry her skin is 😅 and washes with soap and water. To each their own!

They couldn’t handle how adorable and real this video was 👏🏼❤️
I have had my 12 year old on a skin care routine since she was 9.
What do you mean by "then oat"?
@@fi879 oat so simple is a product I believe.
This is perfect!
I was looking for an easy and gentle routine for my 9yo (he's starting to show signs of acne as well) and I just happen to stumble across your amazing comment.
Definitely using as inspiration🥰tyty💕
@@fi879 Oat So Simple is a face cream by Krave Beauty. It’s fungal acne safe, she sometimes gets outbreaks so this is perfect for her.
They probably expected her to be performative and ‘perfect’ but I love the fact that’s she’s real and down to earth. ✅
I think they took it down because it looks like she’s using a skin filter. They recently banned that in the UK, as in you’re not allowed to use a beauty filter when advertising or using skincare or makeup. It does look like she’s using one she has no pores and her eyes are exaggeratingly bright
It can maybe be the light on her face, and most of the videos of harpers bazar have color correction and light balancing (i think is called like that)
What was she advertising? I don't think it's a legal issue if they're not being sponsored or paid to advertise a specific product.
I think she wasn't spending enough money on her skincare. Some of the people they keep instead defy logic
To be honest my biggest mistake when I was in college was to use St. Yves scrub every single night. lol

Spread the word and spread the love
How’s your diet? And do you drink alcohol?

The Welsh Twins are super silly! They call it a telescope in the video.😂
Did they continue the study with breastfeeding women?
interesting, I'd love to know more
Yeah I recently learned about the EWG, parabens, lilial, etc. I know some of it is bullshit but if pregnant I'd imagine it's better to spend money to avoid all that tbh. I only looked into this because I plan on getting pregnant hopefully soon. I'm not going to buy products that are a bit questionable any longer.

Btw love LOVE love you Cyster!
She said she still uses it in the morning. It’s just that it’s not ALL she uses anymore
She said at the end of the video that she does use. It is just that is not the only thing she uses.

I am gonna just go call my mother 💗💗 bless her heart- she taught me to take care of my skin when I was 14... For what skincare was in the early 90's (she was only 35) taught me to save, how to balance a checkbook/bank account and indeed how to file taxes.
This warms my heart. I have a little girl and I hope to teach her all the important things like your mom did! ❤️
That's awesome😊
Our daughter calls us out of the blue to thank us for teaching her how to live. ❤️
I loved how genuine Anna Marie was in the video. And I look at her skin, hair, eye color, and as a cosmetologist, I cannot fathom why she wants to be tan.
She's wearing sunscreen though.
That sunscreen is mineral in the US, but in the UK and Europe where she got it, it's a chemical sunscreen with La Roche Posay's proprietary EU filters, actually amazing in sun protection quality!
Is to greasy?

yes I was thinking that too! I think she was reading from the wrong procuct site. The one she used is like you said organic and untinted.

@@123michimi The body shop has legitimate stores yes, but they also have an MLM branch called "The Body Shop at Home"
