I got 12 unexpectedly included with my car when I got it. My current WRX was a replacement car since my original WRX was accidentally totaled when the shipper delivered it. The new WRX came with the carbon fiber STI trunk trim on the back. It’s pretty cool.
@@AutoEnthusiast Okay so this is my first WRX and I ordered it online/through my dealer. Took forever, longer than the dealer was expecting. It finally gets to the US and the transport person forgot to lower a rail as my car was being unloaded and it rolled off of the top of the truck. This incident got all the way up to the regional Subaru guys because my car was a limited with CVT and just about every option on it. My original WRX was a smokey grey and the replacement WRX is a very lovely WR blue pearl. Ironically it’s the color I originally wanted, but I’d gone with the grey. Sadly they totaled/crushed the first car. I was really hoping it would’ve been sold off so someone could fix it up. I’ve seen worse on TH-cam! I never got to see the grey one in person so I don’t know how bad the damage was. They sent me pictures and it didn’t look that bad to me, but I don’t work on cars. You listed a lot of cool mods here. I definitely want to try some on mine!
@@AutoEnthusiast It was super crazy for sure!! I’m loving it! I’m hoping we get some snow on the roads that sticks around. Got five inches on Christmas Day and it’s all gone already. 😔 Definitely giving some mods a chance!
Dude unintentionally made his brights useless lol. The housings are made so they reflect the light and amplify it, but if thats matte black now that will absorb alot of the light and make them not as bright.
Red LED cup holder inserts(pucks). I installed the set I had for my prior car that was totaled and the red matches perfectly. Nice little effect to see water bottles lit up.
I'm not a fan of the front plate location to be honest .. I'd keep looking for something better such as one that's thin and can go in between the grill area in the center.. offsetting in my onion makes it look off
I purchased a Perrin shift stop soon after I bought my 15 wrx. My wrx came with a sti short throw shifter. Now, I could never install the shift stop because it wasn’t enough clearance for me to shift into first and second gear. I tried everything I could think of to make it fit. Still have the shift stop somewhere in my car.
@@AutoEnthusiast my wrx is the only wrx I’ve driven so I haven’t had an opportunity to compare to the regular shifter. People online say it’s shorter than the regular but not as short as the after market ones.
@@edwinlasalle3115 interesting! I haven't ever actually considered doing a short through. I am pretty happy with the current shifter, but I guess I lack the perspective.
@@AutoEnthusiast TBH the shifter feels pretty much like any other manual car I’ve driven before. Most people tell me that after market short shifters are better. Future video idea?
So, today I learned that my state requires a front plate. I'm almost 30, and I've been driving without one since I was 17. What I'm saying is, you probably don't actually need one. That, or cops in my state don't care. I got told my tint was too dark a dozen times, but nothing about a front plate. No ticket, no warnings. Not even a comment when I was getting a ticket for something else. I honestly had no idea it was required.
texas is like that too. i’ve never run a front plate nor heard of anyone getting any trouble from cops about not running one. seems like if you don’t give them a reason to be looking at ya you’ll be alright!
All of those mods are tacky as hell lol keywords to this video "cheap" "inexpensive" and it shows. I'm so sick of seeing these cars with plastic slapped around every corner. They're classy whips with OEM parts on. You can buy genuine Subaru rain guards, floor mats, things like that which will hold up and keep your car looking classy. Just my input, I have a Limited so the headlight mod was never on my radar but if I had a lower trim I wouldn't cheap out and paint them I'd buy new headlights all together if I cared that much.
Although I generally agree, as this is supposed to be cheap parts. The OEM parts you mentioned are very much bad examples, because they are all just injection molded or stamped parts, and the 3rd party options are quite literally the same or better. Just and fyi as someone that works in the automotive manufacturing industry.
@@AutoEnthusiast I don't disagree but when you go to resell the car later on buyers love seeing OEM parts. Example; I bought my WRX with a tacky shift knob I immediately ordered an OEM one. It was a red flag to me, personally. The rain guards I do find that the genuine Subaru ones look nicer than aftermarket. My point is, less is more with these cars. If someone wanted to mod it's far better to keep it OEM for your investment. I'd never buy a car that has tinted tail lights or a rainbow glitter Subaru logo on it lol. A larger example would be tacky off brand wheels. Why not spring for the STI wheels if you wanna upgrade the look?
My dad has a 2015 sti launch edition with a tad over 100k miles I was wondering if there’s any decent performance mods I should do. I’m 95% sure it has the stage one Cobb tune (he has the computer for it) what do I need to do for stage 2. Sorry if what I’m saying doesn’t make sense just excited cuz I will be getting the car for when I go to college
There's no such thing as "stage 1" or "stage 2". Those are at best, performance packages that retailers offer to sell a bundle of parts. My suggestion, get through college without the car blowing up. It's already 9 years old with 100k miles. Best things you can do, is anything to keep it reliable. Air Oil separator, radiator upgrade, TGV delete, and since it's an EJ, get a cylinder 4 cooling mod done. Change the oil timely. Then, after you get done with college and can afford a newer, reliable daily, focus on the mods. There's nothing worse than having a car you love, that you can't drive because it blew up and you have no money to fix it. Safe mods would be your basics: intake, exhaust and match the tune accordingly (talk to a reputable tuner, not just an off the shelf tune). A bigger top mount intercooler can help reliability as well, but stick to name brands like Cobb, Grimmspeed, Perrin, TurboXS.
question..... why not? My take is that it doesn't do anything. If someone really wants to know who I am and where I am, easier ways to do it that trying to run a plate. Just my two cents.
Under a $100 dollars but a few are well over a $100…. 🤦🏻♂️ And please level the music you play with your voice level… about blew out my eardrums when you started your first video of your car….
All these cheap mods are not expensive but they are a waste of time and they will draw un needed attention to your car because it will stand out! The smart is to make your car look like all stock like a sleeper so it does not attract attention.
