Easiest purchase decision. Just tell the wife it's just the new air purifier.

Good luck fitting an RTX 4080 in there lol. Even the Pro-Art from Asus is 2.5 slots. you'd have to go custom loop and custom mounting bracket to fit a 4080 in this reasonably. What a shame.
@@christophergonzalez5552 one of my friend said he dont care as long as he can put in a 1650 super which is more than enough for him

A movable spine would make this case an absolutely no brainer, but limiting to 2 slot GPUs in order to fit in an AIO feels a bit of a letdown.
Utterly stupid decision by Fractal. What's the use case? Who needs a 280 on a CPU and a 2.x slot GPU? 1080p esports?

Classic fractal
@@steilkurbler4973 there's no space for full custom loop
The size limit for the GPU being only 2 slots in a 20L case is a hard pass. Such a shame. :(
Exactly. 2 other gripes are: 1) they could have made this a dream for a custom loop with the space to mount a top 180mm rad and, 2) the PSU should be rotated to exhaust upwards to vent out hot air, otherwise it's just causing mass turbulence when the fan is running within the same compartment as the CPU.
he used card thats close to 3 slots.
@@vailpcs4040 A lot of GPUs, it seems, have issues with being mounted in that orientation. The heat pipes/vapo chambers fail when vertical with the bracket at top

Not being able to put a 3 slot card in there is a very strange choice for modern GPUs.
To me the actual benefit of fancontrol is that i can make my casefans spin based on BOTH Cpu and Gpu by using the "mixed" curve tool with the setting "max". You can add multiple fan curves to that "mixed" curve and the output curve equals the value of the highest input.
Blocking off unnecessary ventilation areas is a good thing in any case. If there's an open area next to a fan it's going to pull air from there, and if it's an exhaust fan next to a mesh panel, it's just going to recirculate outside air most of the time. It's actually amazing how good PC cooling is in general with how half assed the cooling solutions in anything other than ITX cases are.
So ITX has good or bad cooling?
@@victorong7907 He's saying ITX cases have good cooling. If you think about it, ITX cases have to have good cooling since there is barely any internal space to get any good air flow. Larger cases can just force more air flow with extra fans or larger fans.
This is not true for this case at all, plenty of reviews have showed the major airflow issues with this case. Engineering wise it makes little to no sense either when it comes to cooling or performance. You’re getting a case that looks and sounds as loud as an air purifier and the 360 mesh fabric wrapped around a tiny metal case, would go against a well thought out cooling design

what this guy sees: revolutionary pc case
Seems like a serious oversight to not design the bracket in a moveable fashion... 2.5, 3 slot GPUs are almost the norm these days, no?
Eh, not really, only the 4080 and 4090. It clearly did fit a 2.5 slot card in this video too

Love it. About time someone starts making a premium case that doesn't pretend the PC internals are a show piece.
Considering my last case stayed with me for about 10 years and this fabric stuff does not seem to usually age really well, I think I'll wait for at least a year with this thing on the market to take the jump. Though it does look great.
I would love to see a 180mm fan from Noctua. They skip from 140mm to 200mm. Just not many 180mm fans, and Fractal now has several cases with 1800m fans. His sweatshirt matches the case, BTW.
My broken ass read title:

If you do a follow up video, would really appreciate seeing how well the fabric holds up in a "cat test". I'm really tempted to do my next PC build in this case, but my two cats clawing at the fabric is my biggest concern here.
The lack of spine shift is this case's Achilles' heel. Edit: I bought that SAME GPU and the specs list it as a 2.5 slot card.... at 58.5mm! Lies!
GPU slot sizing is based off the slots it takes up via the bracket NOT how big the card is in dimensions that they block the PCI slot below.
@@IcessassinFalse.
@@1stRanger truth. Its how many slots of the mobo it takes. 2.5 cards essentially tell you it will cover an internal slot. 3slot cards require you to remove 3 pci covers from the case.
@@Icessassin OK, then this is a 2.925 slot card... still not 2.5 slots.
@@Icessassin That makes no sense. I cannot remove 2.5 slot covers. It's either 2 or 3 and even if you only have to remove 2, it won't fit in a case with anything less than 2.925 slots available, so listing it as 2.5 is misleading at best. My bad for not confirming the actual width in mm, but is there such a thing as a 2.5 slot case and if there is, will this care fit in it? Not to my knowledge.
I need the sauce for the hoodie 🙏
The fabric series X
That negative pressure is gonna make the front fabric into an expensive air filter. I'm foreseeing a lot of cleaning that front part 😅
If they made this with an adjustable spine it would be much better, a slim Cpu cooler with that negative airflow should be fine and leave you way more space for GPUs
As a second PC for home theater, I love it. But for my main rig, I actually use all the VRAM on an RTX 4090 while rendering so this is a non-starter. Most SFF are non-starters. That being said I think I personally prefer the look of the Terra. It is clean but is still unapologetically a PC case. I like that. If I am trying to hide my PC so it disappears into the furniture I have better ways to do that that are also quieter.
You need a DeEsser. Your audio is very piercing.
Yeah, the compression is atrocious with that nasty ess noise
Sounds really bright which is fatiguing my ears a bit
I am Fractal Design loyalist at this point, I had a Meshify C from 2019 till 2023 when I changed over to a white Torrent, I enjoy that FD does both in that they can do cases like the one you show here but ALSO the crazy spectacles... my torrent is a show piece that has actually made other people consider custom PC building.
Totally agree on the aesthetics of the new Fractal case. Despite being tad large, the clean design really makes it appealing. Would love to see how they could improve on this.
Was just looking for a case for a new build I'm planning. Too bad this will not fit 3 slot cards.
I'm not sure if you will read this comment, but please continue doing videos in this living area with the beautiful natural light coming from the videos. I love it!
For me, it's the CPU limits that matter. 110mm is simply not enough for great cooling. Liquid cooling works, but there's always the risk of leaking and eventually the pump will give out, so they don't last as long, it's just a matter of time, and pump noises are more annoying than fan noises. The last good case that fractal released that could support a full sized heatsink was the Node 304. The crazy thing is, it's actually the same liter size as this case, at 19 liters. So it's very much possible to build a case under 20 liters that can fit even a Noctua D15....they just keep making stuff that ignores larger heatsinks, in favor of centering things around liquid cooling if you want anything bigger than a small heatsink, which is just a bad design path to go.
Been waiting for a more in-depth look at this case, thank you! I like the smaller footprint. I've always thought the regular cases waste so much vertical space, ever since top-exhausting became the golden standard.
Honestly I think the ridge is a better case overall. From what I have seen this case is a mess to deal with
Love this case. I've built a few PCs for the living room -- not counting HTPC -- over the years but eventually repurposed them because they looked so ridiculous. Personally, also not a fan of RGB and always turn that off regardless of its intended location. This case checks all of the boxes minus the option for having better flexibility for GPU sizes. The case would fit in nicely between a subwoofer and a set of speakers while also providing useful ports on the front.
5:52 Mind sharing where you got that media console your TV sits on?
Looks like the Raphael from Temple & Webster. I think they only sell in Australia
@@mattyice7x thanks!
This looks like a nice clean option to recommend to friends looking to build an ITX system for the first time -- it seems easier to work in than a sub-10L. That said, if they only gave it 3-slots for the GPU, a new builder would've basically not have to worry about GPU compatibility while A GOOD AMOUNT of cpu coolers would still be compatible.
this case is beautiful, not exactly what i go after for myself, but if i was going to build a pc for a living room, to play games on a TV, i absolutely would go for a case like this
what's that case at the end?
probably ncase m1evo
M2
Appreciate the love given to fan control. Truly one of the best software an enthusiast can have on their pc.
The Fractal Ridge is for me still the best console/media center case for anyone who wants a good looking and powerful machine to play any game on TV. The 4090FE fits perfectly.
0:10 keycaps name?

It’s probably the X-ray keycaps
Pretty sure they’re Highground’s Snowstone Topograph, they have highground branding all over them so not worth it IMO
5:50 I'm never able to hear these sound tests, because my pc sounds like a washing machine on drying mode, 2 rooms away (like a reaaaaally quiet hair dryer basically) but thanks for trying 😂
First up awesome video as always.
Second thing: I’m always on the lookout for minimalist clothing and I like your style a lot.
So what brand are both the shirt and the hoodie?
Would appreciate a lot
Fractal design always cookin 🔥🔥
My immediate first thought was: my cats will destroy that thing in precisely 13 hours from installing it in the livingroom.
Wish they'd make a home server version with 6-10 HDD bays. People living in apartments usually have to place their server in their living room. Something that looks like this would be perfect.
Fractal is absolutely KILLING IT and I've appreciated the quality of their products for years. All of their cases are ones I would recommend
Gamers Nexus just tore this thing apart lol, ouch
"I need to update the living room PC anyway." Sounds like an awesome tour video coming our way.
How are those thermals tho? 🥴
Terrible.
Amazing
In a 20L PC Case, I'd like a version without the sandwich layout, to save money/resources on the connector, and having one less part that can fail or might need an upgrade eventually.
I saw someone point to it but this is the video I was waiting for. I'm disappointed it is that large and doesn't have a movable spine. The 180mm fan is what I had planned on doing to try to modify one of the printable 3d cases, but just haven't got around to doing it.
Really wish it was smaller. Not having an adjustable middle segment makes it much less versatile than many much smaller cases.
FanControl needs way more love. That piece of software is absolutely amazing. You can adjust fan speed by lowest or highest common denominator in terms of GPU and CPU temps. A must have for any entusiast.
As an aging gamer, looks of components suddenly matter, while costs move more to the background. This looks so clean, if the AMD strix halo is as good as they claim, a setup with this and a huge fitting CPU (APU) cooler could be awesome.
Think your slippin. Bad thermals equals less performance. We all know you and your latency minutia. What gives here? Gamers Nexus ranked on this case big time.
Guy is a salesman
Pretty cool case indeed. Maybe fractal should consider making the side that are not ventilation with some acoustic material inside like on the Define 7Serie. That would help with noise reduction
OMG that cliffhanger. Don't tell me you're dropping a new wooting keyboard case AND a custom PC case xD
would you do a more detailed review with the temps? like you’ve done with other cases
It looks nice but I actually would like a larger version of this, same style but that can fit a regular ATX board and of course- 3 slot cards. I also don't like these cases that doesn't expose the back of the power supply so you can't flip the switch and turn it off, which is much better than just pulling the cord. Still, it's very nice- Fractal has been making some really interesting stuff lately. I really like that case with the Wood which you showed a few clips off in the vid- I've been considering it as my next case.
The air intakes only being front and rear is a big mistake, it doesn't maximise airflow through negative pressure, it will mean that air will take the path of least resistance which is straight up towards the fan following the sides of the case, if they had perforated all 4 sides then they would have created a greater suction effect.
Looks cool until it frays or something spills on it lol. If you've got a pet with fur or even worse, claws, then forget it!
Aesthetic is Unsyncronized Full RGB Gaming PC
I like the looks of this case. But for me the best looking PC cases are really the ones you can see your build inside. Where you can see the parts you have chosen and admiring them regardless of being rgb or not.
They built an air purifier and put a computer in it 😂
Finally, a proper, quality air purifier PC case
To be honest, Steam Streaming means I have a pretty lightweight setup in my lounge (5600G and no GPU) and rely on my study PC which has the horsepower. So I'd love a movable spine, but for the opposite reason : to get rid of the GPU compartment, and have a taller tower cooler which is nearly silent.
The desing and the interior of the build makes my brain tingle
I really like these. Would totally fit in with scandinavian interior design style.
Love this look. My HTPC is in a black Cooler Master NR200P case, and I love that too. AMD 7700 and a 3090TI FE.
Non adjustable spine is a deal breaker. The only reason i would consider switching to this case is to fit a gpu that's over 2 slots. If 2.5 slots is the limit, ill just stick to my current itx setup
I love how this looks. Never thought I'd build a PC just for the case..
Cool looking, but so disappointing on the GPU clearance, they really should have taken a good 15-20mm from the motherboard side and moved it to the GPU side, especially for gaming computers where you throw in a 7800X3D and it's only going to be drawing maybe 80W for a gaming load and would work completely fine with a low profile downdraft air cooler.
bro picked up a cheese grater at the end and thought we wouldn't notice.
The way people have broken the word aesthetic is nuts. The most "what" aesthetic. Cyberpunk aesthetic? RGB aesthetic? Steampunk aesthetic? Wood aesthetic? aesthetic means "a cohesive style" not just "minimalist ikea style"
Do you know what the original meaning of aesthetic is (hint: its not what you’re talking about)
I do love the trend of cases where you pull off the outer shell and have a relatively free space to build in
Nice " speaker design" with a good airflow system. However since its already big I would make it even bigger to fit a Noctau 200mm fan on top and be able to fit larger componentes like fulls- size GPU´s in there. Next Fractal design is probably a case with the " North"- wood and " Mood"- mesh alltogether :)
Finally a Tower case with the ports at the bottom. The only orientation that makes any sense at all. Looking at you Evolve Shift.
I've built in two Fractal cases and expect my next one to be, excellent design and build quality
The ASUS AP201 in horizontal position with the feet removed, also look exactly like a speaker beside the TV, with way better compatibility as it is a mATX.
Great video once again, really in depth exploration into it, and was extremely useful!
Can't wait to see this in Australia, I'd love to see if I could see it in real life. (Mind you, just learnt your from AU!)

You care soo much for your visuals! As a filmmaker I see those efforts! You are a legend!
I just picked up a Fractal North XL and luckily my girlfriend loves it as it fits her mid-century modern taste. I only wish they offered it in more colors than black and white. I ended up painting mine an earth green to be a little different.
What annoys me the most about the North (and North XL) is the ugly-ass gold accents on the black one. Was kinda tempted to buy a black and a white one and then swap the silver front IO from the white one into the black just to make it less fugly, and then dump the other case onto ebay lol
Never been a fan of mini/SFF cases, but they're still better than the current fishtank/dual chamber cases.
I'm glad that Fractal is keeping it traditional. Hoping to see more FT cases from them in the future.
It does look clean. At the moment I am a big fan of wall mounted components.
I love the idea of making a $500 console killer build in this, then throw SteamOS on it in the future if Valve ever releases that for all devices.
That case is a brilliant design. This belongs in my living room and I intend to do that!
Sold!!! Buying this ASAP! - Whelp got too excited from the beginning of the video. It all came crashing down when I learned 3 slot GPUs are out.
0:37 what corsair cooler is that ?
Elephantium MX 4 Pro
You typically don't even need SpeedFan to configure a fan curve based on your GPU temps. Most motherboards have that kind of configuration right in the BIOS/UEFI. That way you don't even need to run 3rd party software.
I've been watching your videos for a while now and I've got to say one thing that always wows me is the background music, it just always matches up with the visuals and everything else perfectly.
The mini fridge/ speaker combo isn't something I was ready for
This case would be great in a Mid Century Modern (MidMod) space! It does seem odd that you can't shift the spine for larger GPUs. I'm wondering if it was designed as more of an HTPC option that doesn't require the highest end of GPU power.
Wish for smaller size and on the rails where you put the motherboard to the rails and the whole ready goes inside on one solid latch.
This does indeed have a nice clean aesthetic..I have the Fractal North and it looks awesome in my office. This blends great in a living room, for sure.
A white version should make it more subtle, blends in to the white walls
I’m so glad to see that air cooled and I bet with the new efficiency of the 9000 series could build a pretty efficient workstation in that
Jesus that's terrible... A 20L case that can't fit 3 slot cards 😂😂
This would easily fit in an IKEA showroom, no one will know except PC nerds!
