    Tim, your videos have been a favorite of mine for years, and a few months ago, I bit the bullet and bought my first lathe! It's been the most rewarding hobby I've ever gotten into, and I doubt I would've done it without your inspiration. Thanks for every video you make!

    Nicely explained, Tim. At first glance it looks easy-peasy but you are so right. Get those centers off from the beginning and the whole thing would be a mess.
    You just can't go wrong with Olive wood and your sanding and finish really paid off in a beautiful finished piece!

    A beautiful piece of wood and interesting shape. It jogged my memory of a similar ceramic vase my Mom had decades ago. I think I'll try to make one of these; it looks like fun.

    Beautiful. Thanks for mentioning that your bits were “very” hot; it’s not the turner doing something incorrectly but the nature/hardness of the substrate.

    I just started turning wood. Do you have a video on how to sharpen your chisels?
    I like how you do not ramble on, it makes it easy to watch your whole video. You are a good teacher.

    When the ends are waxed, I use my scratch awl to mark the corner to corner lines.

    Tim, That is beautiful wood and turning. It shows off the grain wonderfully. A question; I see you have/use some Thompson lathe tools, what flute type do you prefer ( U, V, ?) and what grind? Thanks. Cheers, Tom

      I almost always use a V. It takes a smaller bite and is easier for me to guide.

      @@tomcoker9882 I do use the Wolverine along with David Ellsworth bowl gouge jig. I shoot for around 60 degrees on the front bevel.
