I love watching you in the shop! I am just a beginner, and right now I am just learning to do pens and pencils - but your videos are inspiring…. One of these years!
Tim, your videos have been a favorite of mine for years, and a few months ago, I bit the bullet and bought my first lathe! It's been the most rewarding hobby I've ever gotten into, and I doubt I would've done it without your inspiration. Thanks for every video you make!
Wonderful Tim You are very good at wood turning, teaching and videos plus you are very fun to watch and great humor so please keep making these videos'. I look forward to each and everyone. Thanks
Wow! I love everything about this piece: the shape, the wood, the grain, the finish. Absolutely wonderful! And I even learned a new word: "chatoyance."
Nicely explained, Tim. At first glance it looks easy-peasy but you are so right. Get those centers off from the beginning and the whole thing would be a mess. You just can't go wrong with Olive wood and your sanding and finish really paid off in a beautiful finished piece! Phil
Absolutely outstanding. I love the shape, especially the flat sides. They give the piece an extra interest. And then there is the figure and color. Beautiful . Topped off with that gorgeous finish. What more could you ask. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.
A beautiful piece of wood and interesting shape. It jogged my memory of a similar ceramic vase my Mom had decades ago. I think I'll try to make one of these; it looks like fun.
Beautiful. Thanks for mentioning that your bits were “very” hot; it’s not the turner doing something incorrectly but the nature/hardness of the substrate.
Tim, The flat sided vase really shows off the beauty of the wood. Thanks for the video. BTW: I also love my Robust American Beauty and Easy WoodTools (and Easy Chuck). Keep the fun videos coming. Cheers, Tom Hope you have a grand New Year.
Yes, yes this was great. Something completely new and different. And the buity of the olive grain, has really high lited this peice of work. NICE WORK, 🤔👍 Viewed from 🇦🇺 Much enjoyed
I just started turning wood. Do you have a video on how to sharpen your chisels? I like how you do not ramble on, it makes it easy to watch your whole video. You are a good teacher.

Outstanding beauty , may i correct you ,your previous attempt , you called it Shoe Oak , we , in Australia pronounce it as She-oak , written as Sheoak !

Absolutely nice job dear! I want ask you something 😅how can i have a Robust lathe in italy? Have you some informations about it? Thank you so much and congrats for your very nice jobs! Roberto
Tim, That is beautiful wood and turning. It shows off the grain wonderfully. A question; I see you have/use some Thompson lathe tools, what flute type do you prefer ( U, V, ?) and what grind? Thanks. Cheers, Tom

Beautiful and unique piece. You didn’t mention what you use for the finish to bring out the beauty of the grain
Timothy yoder should have a gift shop with everything that he makes
Droolworthy - thank you! ✌🏻🎨☕️
When the ends are waxed, I use my scratch awl to mark the corner to corner lines.
Very nice! But what is the extension called that you used for the largest.Forster bit! Really great idea for not so round lathe blanks!!!!!

I almost always use a V. It takes a smaller bite and is easier for me to guide.
@@duallygsd Thanks Tim. Do you use a Wolverine sharpening system? What angles/settings do you going to. Cheers, Tom
@@tomcoker9882 I do use the Wolverine along with David Ellsworth bowl gouge jig. I shoot for around 60 degrees on the front bevel.
@@duallygsd Thanks again. Keep the videos coming, always enjoy them. Cheers, Tom
Beautiful! Where did you get the ruler? Can’t say I’ve ever seen one like that before
Tim sells the rulers on his web site.
I sell them but I am out of the 13" rulers at the moment. Hopefully will get a new batch made soon.
Nice, what happened to Thompson?
Exceptional turning … btw … what happened to Thompson Woodturning Tools sponsorship?
Nice!
That would make a good canvas for a pyrographer or painter. On planer wood.
AT 10:17... Worm hole screw (?) or worm screw hole. HeHe. Either way. We got it.
That's my verbal dyslexia talking over again 🤪
