Nice piece Mike. Your design most certainly made the most of that Norfolk Pine blank. The wee cove tool may have perhaps made shaping of the inside and outside of the neck, fearless. However no mishaps with the small detail gouge. Well done. Some edge of the seat moments for nervous viewers though :-) Thanks again.

When I saw the picture in my TH-cam feed I thought you’d got into colouring wood. It looks amazing and the shape you chose works really well. I think the only change I would make is the possible addition of a ring of sapeale, or other red wood, for the opening of the vessel to compliment the red of the knots. I’m now going to have to try and hunt some of that pine down and try it for myself. All the best from the UK. Ben

No, it was green. Turning green is easier on the tools, lungs and just more fun.

I am assuming the wood was green since the pith was in it and it did not crack. I did not see any sap.
