- Should you buy a 3ds in 2024? I think the Nintendo 3DS is still worth it in 2024 and beyond, I go over some top 3ds games, options for systems, memory cards, 3ds game prices, and talk a little bit about why you might want to mod a 3ds in 2024.The 3ds provides a ton of value with an amazing library of games and is a truly portable system. My favorite 3DS game is Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. I've never been more frustrated with a game, yet more determined to 100 percent it, than with that game.
bought one few days ago, its just so much fun and all the OS and little sounds are so charming, they dont make them like this anymore

If you're gonna mod it, absolutely. If Nintendo is gonna kill it, the modders are gonna revive it.
The modding scene is amazing it will keep systems like the 3DS and Vita alive for many years to come

I have 7 3DS consoles. One of each model in the family and two New 3DS XLs. One is modded the others are stock. I highly recommend if you’re going to mod them then get a Japanese unit. Once you have CFW installed then the region lock is removed and Hshop lets you download anything you want, including English games

I got mine a couple of months ago it´s actually really nice to have a such a console. I got 128gb on my sd card with over 50 cia games and over 100+ nds roms :D btw nice video mate keep it up you got a new sub.

Bought a N3DS just to have one cause I just use my O3DSXL. Still one of the best handheld consoles OAT. Loving the smaller form factor of it as well. Never appreciated how big the XL screens really were.

I've bought my Nintendo 2DS for almost 4 years and my most favorite 3DS games I played are Pokémon X, Omega Ruby, and Ultra Moon because I'm always a Pokemon fan and a PokéTuber, but i also played Smash bros, Mario Kart 7, super Mario 3D Land, anime games like One Piece Unlimited World Red, Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball Fusions, Gundam 3D Battle, and i also played Animal Crossing New Leaf. I mostly used my 2DS to play all my favorite DS games. Such fond memories to play Pokemon games for the DS. So yeah I'm still playing my 2DS in 2023 and beyond in 2024

i bought a regular og 3ds a week ago, and i absolutely love it, it gives me so much nostalgia as i’ve had one for like 5 years when i was a kid sadly something happened where it got lost or something. Some games lag a lot on the old 3ds but it never really bugs me that much because it only happens every few minutes and it’s mostly a stutter, i haven’t gotten a crash or anything.
i bought it for 130 bucks pre modded and id say that’s such a steal all i had to do was get a few files so i can get the homebrew apps on it and i was golden. definitely recommend anyone to purchase any of the 3ds family, the og one is more then capable.

I got a nintendo 3ds last year one of the original versions considering i wanted one as a kid but could never get one as they were so expensive and haven't regretted it at all i love my 3ds i got it i believe for $75 which is a steal to me! Ill never stop loving my 3ds its such a fun console and perfect for me as i like a little distraction from reality once in a while and its nice to heal my inner child as well! Amazing video by the way!

I’ve been waiting on a good video comparing the two consoles since a couple of months ago I contemplated buying a 3Ds or switch and I’ve owned 2 switch lites throughout my life though never found myself enjoying it as much as back when I owned the og 3Ds when it came out and even though the switch is newer I decided to go for the new 3Ds xl and I haven’t regretted it I actually think I made a better choice
You really can’t go wrong with either system but the 3DS holds up so well!

I got my 3DS back these days and I'm having fun playing with it like I've never had on Switch. especially the size! it is very light, can be held with one hand, you can put it in your pocket. and then everything is so cute and small. why don't they make portable consoles like this anymore?
I love how portable the 3DS is compared to the switch, I wish they made an even smaller version of the switch lite

I purchased a 3ds recently. I LOVE it. I like that I can carry it in my purse, there’s no way I could fit a Switch. I have Mario Kart 7 and Epic Mickey for the 3ds. I’m going to look into purchasing Luigi’s Mansion. Thank you SO much 😂

After all these years I’m still loving my 3ds xl and I own most of the AAA physical games too. I refused to buy the switch due to lack of online comms but I want a switch 2 now.

I bought two 2ds xl like around 2020. I never regret it. Downloaded every rare game and updates possible before the shop had closed 😂

I have a samus edition and a brand new hyrule edition still in box. I use mine for nes,snes,gb,gbc,gba,ds,
Genesis,neo geo some Playstation and n64 then there's the 3ds library. Everything else i use my steam deck for.

I love my 3DS. My parents got me one in 2021 instead of a 3Ds. I modded it last year and it’s amazing!
Got mine a couple of weeks ago, modded it, added a 128Gb card and it's joyous. Current favourite game that's not one of the usual ... Gotta Protectors.

@@FranchisePlayyer Currently enjoying Nintendo Pocket Football Club, which was only released in Europe. Fun little soccer management game. Also the usual Marios, etc. Fun console, spending more time on it than the PC.

I got my cousins in the Christmas of 2022 and I modded my 3ds today and installed hshop and pretendo and I'm working to mod my wii u

@@FranchisePlayyer the modded 3ds is great, i've found breaking bad and better call saul games on universal updater, i've installed mods for my wii u and I got pretendo to work so I can play Splatoon 1 again

My 2ds xl just got windex inside the screen😭😭😭 I'm trying to dry it in rice but I'm not hopeful. It still works but the right side of the screen has bright spots it's really ugly and distracting. I am so bummed. They are so expensive.

I took out my 7 year old N3DS-XL and my interest was revived just recently. Fearing that the decade old 3DS will eventually disappear (for now we are left with EBay and other online private sellers), I got a few more to form a collection. I even got a N3DS just to see how much "sharper" it would be compared to the N3DS-XL. I do not think Nintendo (or Sony/Microsoft) will be making another 3D-capable handheld (or console), so I see the 3DS as a truly unique portable console - a once in a lifetime collector's item for every avid gamer. I'm mainly a PC gamer and also have a Switch, but to me the 3DS is truly a technological wonder, and this is complemented by Nintendo's library of high quality in-house games which you can't play on any other platform. Oh yes, its currently actually harder to find an unmodded 3DS than a modded one on the pre-owned market lol!

I have a question if the new Nintendo 3ds came out on 2015 and buy a used one in 2024 what would be the lifespan like how long would it last?
That’s a tough one, but if it’s in nice condition you should be good for awhile
I still own my 3ds and DS unmodded and I love them. I haven't modded because I'm scared to break it and I don't have a windows pc and don't know if I can do it on a Mac
I have managed to mod a 3DS with an android. There is most likely a way to do it on Mac but I could be wrong. It’s not hard though, maybe just find a used 3DS in your area and try it with that one

The process is similar for Windows and MAC but he shows what you have to do for MAC
Mac is really easy, it’s a little easier because you have access to apps that come with the Mac like disk utility
Bought 2 used ones coz literally cant find a brand new anymore. Each one costed $250 with their box and manuals

I got my New 3ds xl a while ago and it’s amazing much better than the Nintendo switch in my opinion because of its amazing library and the flawless foldeble design that makes it perfect for travel

I love the 3ds family of systems I had a 3ds XL back in the day but I stopped using it when I got my a 2ds as I never used the 3d anyway than I retired my old 2ds for the new 2ds XL which I still play with today when o heard about the eshop closing I modded my old 2ds as at the time I was scared to mod the new 2ds XL didn't want to lose my data at time so I started to enjoy the modding scene on my old 2ds than a month or so ago I decided to mod my new 2ds XL as i knew the online shutting down was coming soon o wanted to prepare so I took my chance to mod it knowing I done it once I was more confident on modding it without bricking it and messing it I modded it no problem I been enjoying playing my new 2ds XL more since I modded it I been enjoying playing games I never got to play thanks to hshop modding a 3ds or 2ds is worth it they are worth buying still I love the 2ds/3ds line a lot holds a special meaning to me for when I went high school I played on my 2ds a lot playing with friends on games such as Mario kart 7 and Luigi's mansion 2/dark moon and smash for 3ds was fun too I am glad modding exists for the 3ds family

If I knew in longer hindsight that they’d close the eShop, Netflix, and TH-cam on the 3DS
I wouldn’t have even bothered buying it and saved for the Switch
But welp, can’t predict the future. And I don’t really want to sell mine because it was a gift. I had even bought things off the eShop before it went down. Wish I could’ve gotten more themes at least.
I’m better off just trying to mod it rather than sell it. It still works great.

The Nintendo 3DS is hands down my all time favourite handheld system and I've been playing handhelds since 1991. The 3DS is one of the only systems I ever picked up on launch day. Since 2011 right up until today I've managed to collect almost 300 physical games. How I'm Still finding games for this system surprises me lol. I picked up an NTSC 3DS XL back in 2018 And last month a Japanese 3DS LL. Just so I can buy the physical exclusives that never came out in the UK. I refused to buy the digital versions. Thats my level of stubbornness and dedication to physical media. As much as I love the obvious AAA releases. I have a soft spot for the slightly lesser known games like Inazuma eleven 3 team ogre attacks. Mystery murders jack the ripper. And 4 element's just to name a few. I'm currently playing through Persona Q shadow of the labyrinth (finally lol). Inazuma eleven 3. With a few session's of Warioware gold and Theatrythm Dragon quest in between.
The 3DS is such an amazing handheld system. The fact you got yours at launch and are still enjoying it goes to show how well the games hold up.

Oh I certainly collect for other systems as well from the master system right up until the switch. In terms of underrated 3DS game's I recommend. Here's a few I'd suggest. Some may be European exclusives though.
Sherlock Holmes Mystery of the frozen city.
Mystery case file's dire grove.
Mystery case file's return to ravenhearst.
Crash Time 3D.
Shinobi.
Heroes of ruin.
Little battlers experience.
James noires Hollywood crimes 3D.
Crazy construction.
Crash city mayhem.
Just to name a few fairly obscure gems :).

the n3dsxl/2dsxl is worth it but sadly you need to mod it for streetpass hacks/cheats unless your cool with getting 10 more 3ds's for streetpass cheesing

It should work for any 3DS, I recommend following a guide on TH-cam so you don’t mess your system up. Luckily it’s pretty easy to do

I recently bought a midnight purple 3ds for 100 bucks but the bottom screens has a discoloration. Things that are yellow are red, green to purple, and pink to green any ideas how to fix?
If not I'll just keep on using it or end up buying a 3ds xl later on

Ya know what? Maybe it is because emulation is still quite bad. Mostly because the Citra developer has given up but 3DS games are very hit and even more miss.

Why even buy a 3DS in 2024? It's not like you can get games on it the eShop has been Closed since March 27, 2023.
