That is what I am sayin. Switch is cool, but it lacks personality and character. It isn't portable enough either for my liking. It also lacks alot of the virtual console games that the Wii U has.
Faceplates on the 3ds XL are extremely easy to swap, its only some screws and you don't have to mess with any internals to get both top and bottom off. If anything the shells are aftermarket, but judging by the scratches on them Id say they were original. My guess would be that the top screen was replaced and the rest of the system is in its original 'used' condition
Honestly that's not bad at all given they replaced the screen and how well it works, you came out good. Also the price DK, Lukie and Even Ebay charges for a used 3ds/2ds systems are insane as of late.
The sticker that gamestop put on the nintendo 3ds serial number its actually used to know what repair they did on that console like for example if they only change the lcd or the touchscreen. If you gonna return the console to them they are gonna know the employee that refurbished that, what they changed, what and how many refurbished parts they used, how much time they spent to repair that console and the time that console was repaired. Its basically a gamestop id for every of their refurbished console. btw i used to work at their warehouse, also sorry for my bad english its not my first language.
@@sigiIkore I’d feel really bad pirating certain Games. Like yeah wouldn’t feel all too guilty downloading a first party Nintendo game, not going to, but wouldn’t lose sleep lol. But I couldn’t make myself pirate a small indie game, a small company (or one person in most cases) put effort into it and they deserve money from it. That’s mainly what I got lately because most first party games have physical versions anyway.

Watched this on 4/24/2023 the part about erasing save data on cards some 3DS games you can't I remember buying Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D from them second hand and there was no way to delete the save data to start fresh so most of the game was completed.
Literally just took out my broken new 3ds and downloaded my old games on the eshop so I can then repair the top screen. I'm super excited to re experience the 3DS on the best 3ds model.

One thing DKOldies has made me realize that Gamestop refurbs aren't/weren't so bad . Just before the pandemic I bought an original Playstation from Gamestop for $30 that looks like new . It would be $130 from DKO today and would be a crapshoot as to what condition it was going to be in .
I bought a refurbished 3DS from the Nintendo store for $100 when they announced that it was discontinued . It looked like new , but would lock up after about 2-5 minutes no matter what you were trying to do . Day 1 I ended up sending it back for warranty repair . They returned it working , but with scratches all over what used to be a perfect shell , I was so pissed .
When I got my 3ds there were pictures on it from the previous owner. They didn’t wipe it I don’t think. It was missing the charging dock and stylus but overall in good shape and still serving me well.
I managed to buy the sun and moon new 3ds XL this week HUGE upgrade from the OG 3ds. I can't believe I missed out on it! The huge screen size is so good!
You got lucky, I bought the same product. The ds worked but the physical appearance was absolutely awful. Had to take it to a console repair store to be refurbished.
Wasn't the OG 3DS XL odd where they were selling them with 2 different screen types? I swear I recall hearing that you could get a good or bad screen and it wasn't much of a difference but enough where people spotted it.
I think the delay is dependent on the data on the console, like a normal DS game will boot instantly, but a game like Smash Bros will take a second to check the storage for a current save file
I got a bunch of 3ds games that weren't working. I figured out the main reason that was, was because the pins were dirty on the cartridge. I cleaned them with some good ol' alcohol and they work just fine now! ;3 The hard part is finding something small enough to fit in the crevasse so you can clean the pin. Happy hunting!

"Dawn of the Final 2 Days"My current 3ds no longer connects to wifi, my speculation is that the wifi chip maybe died? but anytime the wifi is turned on it'll crash the 3ds, this is a fairly new problem for me. Anyways, I just purchased a 2 second-hand Japanese 2ds that I had the dude download a few games for me from the shop before he shipped it out
WiFi technology has advanced a lot and chances are you are using a router with security settings not recognized by the 3DS. You gotta make sure you are using the 2.4Ghz wifi with the WPA2 Security. It's more risky cause newer security methods are more advanced and safer, but that's what's required when you are running tech designed to work with the wifi of 10 years ago. Things like WiFi 6 and 5 GHz band or WPA3 Security are not going to work with 3DS. It's too advanced for it.

I have two New 3DS XLs from GameStop. One of them is fine except for a scratch or two on the shell. The other one, however, must have got hit by a cat. The bottom screen is scratched pretty bad. It is still playable, but it just like so ugly.
Maybe you ought to have looked at the two screens and compared them also, then you'd be in a better position to know if it HAD been replaced with a different one or not? Just a thought!
