    UPDATE: Just got word that there has been some domestic shipping delays on these. New launch date is 10/6, but they will be IN STOCK and shipping on 10/6 - no pre-orders!
    The first 1000 people that use the code LEVELUP at checkout get a free Sennheiser single headphone hanger as well.
    Also for those asking about swapping the new pads onto the PC37X, it is possible and brightens up the highs but makes the overall headphone feel thin since there's less bass to balance things out. I also feel like the detail is much better on the new drivers.

    I know this is an old video but I still want to give my early toughts. I bought these yesterday and since I live in the eu and they recently closed their inventory in the eu. I have to pay a premium and wait several weeks. I got a 20 dollar coupon so I saved some. 15 dollar shipping and 5 dollars of the headset. So for most people this headset is 169 usd. For me with taxes which I will have to pay second hand after they arrive, they are 200 dollars. I was aware of this when I ordered them. Sometimes it sucks to live in Europe. But that was the cheapest and easiest way to get a hold of them. Even if they where sold here the price would still be 200 usd. From what iv'e read and watched they come close to headsets way above 200 dollars. And they are one of if not the best gaming/music headset which is exactly what i'm asking for. I also do some video editing and occasional audio mixing. And since these have audiophile roots, I dont see a need to upgrade for the next 5 years+ it was very difficult to find a headset that has bass without it sounding muddy and gamingy, that are great for music and capable of long gaming sessions, but also capable to be used as a work headset for video and audio editing. The closest I could find to these was the audio technica m50x but they where a bit to overhyped and not really the open back design I was looking for. And the s560 but they where to bright and the bass was more resembling the hyper x cloud alphas.

    I already have the pc37x and honestly don't see myself upgrading anytime soon. It was a steal at $100 and I added the short console cable for $14. So under $120 and I have a beast gaming headset. For $170 I would have liked to see a removable mic and a few more color options. The yellow isn't going to be for everyone. Needs a white color option for sure and an all black. It is nice that they include the short cable for console use.

      Yeah the PC360, Game One - basically the same headset. The pricing doesn't seem bad when you compare it to Sennheiser's direct releases but the Drop x Senn collabs skew the price point because they offer things so much lower generally - think 6XX versus HD650

  • @skykingusa
    @skykingusa 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Thanks for all the great videos. I have a question and would like your thoughts. Here is a little background first.
    I like to play games, mostly games like Rainbow Six Siege and the Battlefield franchise (first person shooters). I want to win and have good full sound while doing it - knowing where sounds are coming from and how far is important in these games. I've tried many different headphones over the 20+ years I've been gaming and they have always been closed back because I didn't even know there was such a thing as open back headphones before the last year or so. Currently, I'm using the Arctis Pro Wireless headset and it has the best positional audio I've ever tried. They have a lot of things I really like, but they are not the most comfortable on my head.
    I am at the stage in my gaming life where I am ready to try an open back headset to see if all the hype I hear about them is worth switching from my Arctis Pro Wireless headset.
    Finally, here is my question: Do you think it is a good choice for me to try the Sennheiser PC 38X headset? After all the reviews I've read and watched this headset seems to be the best open back set for me. Reasons: I definitely don't want to mess with a separate mic, I want something comfortable on my head (4 hours plus sometimes), I want a good quality open back sounding set. This headset seems to be one of the best I can find that has the mic built in. I'm not really a fan of giving up wireless or giving up my Bluetooth capability to take phone calls while I'm gaming either, but if I'm suitably impressed with the sound improvements of the open back design, I might be swayed to forget about the Bluetooth connectivity and the wireless convenience.
    Thanks in advance for any advice you have.

The earpads fell to pieces exposing the foam and I was fine with that, but then the mic started creating a horrible noise. I ordered some game zeroes and they are fine, but I decided I wanted to try some game ones for the open back since I have NEVER tried them. I canceled the order for the game ones and am splurging on the PC38X now since I only buy a headset every 5-6 years. Excited to see how they sound and how different open vs closed is when gaming .. It will help with in game chat too since I can hear my voice better when speaking.
