    for your louvers set up you need a double H frame. You have a regular press, you could use that before building something dedicated. The C frame set up has a lot of deflection. You could use a couple of chains on the sides just on dowels to brace the deflection on the C frame. Using chains will make it easy to remove if you need the depth.

    Hi Brent, I think the drive for the bead roller will work. Make a subplate and use a chain and sprocket reduction. Try 6:1 to start. The drive has plenty of speed. Then you may have the desired result. Keep up the great videos!

      I have a suggestion to help with the flex on your louver press. Weld a pin or rod to the top and bottom horizontal pieces, and you can span between the two with bar stock or something similar. It would be removable so you don't lose the depth and hopefully stop the flex issue.

    Hi Brent
    On your louver press you could get some 4 or 5 inch angle iron and weld it on the back side of the main spine of the press plus a peace of the angle iron on the front part of the spine between the sheet metal gussets plus you could beef up the gussets, you could also use the 4 or 5 inch angle iron to beef up the underside of the main arm.

  • @seapy2398
    @seapy2398 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Brent, you don't 'need' to stiffen the Louvre press any more, simple solution; put a 1/8" packing under one end of the 5" bottom die, that way the pressure required to make the initial piercing long cut is much less than for the shorter dies even. Once the initial sheer cut is made release pressure then remove the packing and finish the Louvre.
    Most press cutting tools have a way of shortening the length of the shear area so that the pressure is manageable for the job in hand. In theory there is no limit to how long a louvre can be.
    With clever use of strong springs and modifying the dies you could do away with a loose packing and make the process automatic. Think about a sheet guillotine, the actual shear cutting area is only a tiny fraction to the length of the blade because it closes like giant scissors.

    Hi Brent, regarding your louver press maybe try placing a spacer between the new ram shaft end and the original ram top to allow the new ram to not extend so far before it presses the louver? I'm thinking (a-oh) maybe the torque of the new ram is more at the beginning of the throw rather than at the end of the throw? I'd try putting a spacer like a socket or piece of steel block between the two rams just to see...I'm probably wrong but hey it'd only take a minute to try. Thanks again for your videos i look forward for every one you make. Love your new shop.

    The LOUVRE Press punch can use the lever 3 foot long handle drives the gear pinion and rack as the maximum opening of Arbor jaws is 1 or 2 inch with the reach depth is little more than 2 foot. The length is 3 ft long clamp arch laid down all strong metal. The upper jaw can hold the die that make the work, sheet metal, into break then result is LOUVRE new. The work is in on the lower jaw called bench press table as part of the frame called press of LOUVRE.

    Hi Brett amazing progress in the new shop, its a lot of work for one fella! Ive just checked out your latest video. I know you welcome comments and suggestions so as a qualified engineer in design and manufacturing or special machinery, can I respectfully suggest that on your louvre punch you could weld a sheet on the opposite side to the flimsy louvered panel and that could stop the strain on the down stroke also it could be helpful to go for a larger hydraulic cylinder. Is your pump straining a bit ? As for the bead roller, it seems your motor is lacking torque. As you mentioned lowering the motor to a platform, why not use cycle technology and fiv a large chain wheel to the roller and a smaller one to the motor. A bicycle chain should be okay but you can double up. That will give better torque and the motor should be fast enough. Don't please be offended just suggestions. You are an amazing Guy and should be applauded

    Louver upper blade can not enter the metal flat and blunt. You need a slight arrow head shape to break the tip then cut/ shear out to the ends. The frame should be squishing the metal flat so the tip gets thru, then cut to the edges. The Mating surface would need to have a cavity for the arrow tip to sink past the main die shape. Maybe, That would require less force, I hope you watch thi video and really know the mount of flex you were producing, that frame was not holding up well at all. Whoa! Think it over Brent. Good Luck, Dennis
    I would add the rear brace Brent, it is flexing a lot for what your doing and over time you know it can crack somewhere. Plus you could maybe do the 5 inch louvers, I also think the more pointed tip might help punch thru the larger shapes. The Piston Kit seem to work ok enough. Great effort. D
