"We talk about the thing that matters to us only when we need not fear disagreement." THE reason why Facebook and Co. and their self propagating groups, be they good or bad, will not die out and are contributing to the polarisation of our world.

The statements on intelligence are questionable. Tests are constructed to result in equal average intelligence of men and women by norm. Therefore the result of similar/equal average intelligence has not much relevance and can be expected. However, it is rather clear that differences exists in terms of standard deviation and some specific subjects of typical tests. But the whole thing is not relevant anyhow if it comes to equality in rights as that idea was never meant to distribute rights based on intelligence (one vote per person not per IQ number (if the ability to make any reasonable decision is not questionable). On the other hand equality in that sense never was meant to result in equality of outcome in terms of salary or equality in distribution of profession etc. as equality was always thought together with other concepts like solidarity (fraternité) and personal freedom (liberté) which are contradicting an equal outcome if people are unequal in interests, talents etc. which is highly likely. Salaries are a complex result of education, engagement, working time, talent, physical strength, stamina and other physiological factors and social background. Therefore it cannot be expected to be equal only based on intelligence. An intelligent person would not work harder as health allows for example and might therefore earn disproportional less (or more because he/she knows how to trick the employer). A person which takes solidarity as a high value might always end up with lower salary as a person who values personal success higher etc. a strong person earn more as a worker or football player, but a heavy tall person less as a ballett dancer or a ski jumper etc.. Regarding intelligence it can be clearly shown that it benefits from good education. But that is in our societies rather equally distributed under sexes anyway.

@12:04 that is really stereotypical attitude. Didn't expect it though.

Do you think there aren't any young muscular immigrants working on construction cites? Or do you think they picked the example because they want to address a stereotype, not to give an example that would convince the Polish MEP? (In case you didn't know: The party the MEP is part of is very critical about immigration. Them liking the idea of giving the money of elderly people to young immigrants is extremely unlikely)

She studied in UK and workes as an author. She is perfectly able to write by herself. And the toughts presented here fit rather well to what she argued for elsewhere. So I wonder how you came to that conclusion?
