You’d think customers would have the decency to remove junk that’s in the way of you doing your work. I’d be absolutely mortified to present my vehicle in such filthy condition to someone who’s working on it. Not to mention trying to be even cheaper and ordering wrong parts instead of the ones you advise to order which is always the cheapest regardless…I get people have different situations but for cripes sake...On a positive note though love your work man you’re super awesome, kind and the most genuine mechanic I’ve ever seen. Incredibly talented and knowledgeable with amazing integrity. All of your customers are lucky to have someone like you.

As a customer i purchase all my own parts BUT i make sure i buy OEM from either the dealer or Rockauto. The last thing you want is to have the entire vehicle torn apart to find out the replacement part is wrong. That sucks.
Most reputable shops will charge double for labor if you bring your own parts in.. Franchised dealerships won't even install parts that were bought elsewhere.. They all mark everything up at least 30%.. On top of the outrageous rates they charge for labor..

You never know what your getting from a closing out sale vs OEM which is reliable mostly but usually costs more, and if it's a premature failure oem is bad quality. Also no hate to rock auto they're great I'm a firm believer in trying 3 10$ parts over one 300$ part especially when they work fine. But still basically what your saying is you'll replace your parts with anything 😂
Was the pump the wrong one ? Or since it was cheaper and non oem few things differ? When I look up the pump everywhere shows the pump she purchased. Even at autozone or O'Reilly shows the same. Can you put a part number for the one you looked up ?

Man have you not noticed how flexible he is with his customers. Your worried about him buying his own parts to make more money. He isn't worried about money. How many times you think he has been screwed over by letting his customers make payments? PAYMENTS! He is just a genuine guy that is trying to put the customers at ease in a very stressful situation. So what the customer ordered the wrong part. At least they won't be saying he did and guess what he will still do the job and then the customer will most definitely be more than content on having him again. Simply because he made sure the customer was comfortable and he stayed transparent.
i know the frustration i use to have a suzuki forenza and my booster was bad and i could not find matching one for like 2 months the only way i found one was going to a LKQ pick a part

The thing is, the kids are the reason the car is so dirty. Anybody with kids knows. Knew a girl whose car was always spotless. A few years later I saw her car after she had a kid and it was filthy. Mostly food crumbs.
It's actually not hard to deal with. I grew up with two siblings. The three of us sat in the back of my parents' vehicles all the time on long trips. There was never, ever a single food crumb in the car. How? Simple. Don't let your damn kids eat in the effing car! Set that rule early and stick to it. Only thing we were allowed was water. I know......shocking concept nowadays. Learn to say no to your kids.

If not you should have one set up it'd take like 30 minutes to do just talk with the store manager make sure your pricing is installer with general repair and quick lube it saves big money I've just noticed a few times you've used them and didn't see special pricing on there

I take them out once in a while to do leather installations. Just drill out the rivet and put a new one in when you put the seats back in.

I clean my car's interior before I take it in for service. I don't want the tech to say to himself, "He doesn't car about his car so why should I".
