The motel thing is like so obvious and I dont think I‘ve ever even seen anyone notice that on reddit or elsewhere I think the writers put a character noticing it in because it‘s something so obvious that went unnoticed. As to theories why it‘s not there I have no idea but that question has been burning in my mind
I loved the Victor and Henry reunion! The bonus question: I think the lighthouse is what brings people into the town. Like a faraway tree with a tractor beam (s1 finale the lighthouse lit up and later the bus arrived) that's how Tabitha was able to use it to get out. I think what's happening to the children is related to the hospital and that's why Tabitha was sent there. There are on slabs (hospital beds?) and the roots were the hospital logo. Maybe the hospital found a way to harness whatever power "the entity/town" is feeding off of. Like a parasite feeding off of parasite. If this is true I guarantee Jade's technology will come into play somehow... with this show it can go a completely other way LOL this is just my running Theory
I was confused because I thought it was mentioned earlier in the show that the specific faraway tree that took Tabby to the lighthouse always leads there, while the others have random destinations. I must have missed something.
I just rewatched the full scene after reading your comment and he doesn't say anything about a pool before entering the tree. He said "You're not me. And that's why you're gonna be sitting here with your thumb up your ass while i'm back home figuring out how to get help for everyone back here." Then he enters the tree partially and says "Look somebody's gotta try" followed by "It's okay you guys can thank me later". There was no mention of a pool at any point.
1:40 that slip made me laugh. This episode felt so meta as well, particularly the diner meeting scene with the criticisms of Tabbie's actions or lack thereof. I hope Victor & Sarah's teamup continues, so much fun.
Pretty sure the Kimono ghost wants Elgin to go to that little pond (Can't remember what they called it) all the Colony House people were swimming in. Remember when he first arrived, he wanted to see it because it was in his vision?

My best guess is that surviving the Far Away Trees involve intention and being lead to one through visions. Tabitha went to the bottle tree with the intention of reaching the Lighthouse and freeing the Ankhooey children, of whom she'd been having visions. Sarah had a vision of the Boy in White directing her to such a tree, and she got herself into the church basement and Boyd into a chimney (and eventually home). Victor saw the Boy in White during the attack on Colony House and saved both himself and Julie. Dale has had no visions that we know of. He went to the bottle tree to save his own skin and hopefully gain some glory and respect. Dale ended up becoming a lesson in patience for the entire town.
It definitely could be that a tree was once there where the pool is, especially since we know the trees move. We saw Boyd and Sarah get in the same tree and gets sent to two different places. Not sure if they were sent there randomly or if the town chose to put Boyd in that pit to meet Martin. I believe he had the 1864 note in his pocket when he went through so that could have played a part also?

The series Started it like Victor is a VERY little character.. has little influence on what happens. But i really started to think that maybe he has supernatural powers.. and he wrote a whole book of Happenings... then it happens without He knowing he is the "governor of the story". he knows main plot things like he is not even in the story, but the producer. He knew the Community ll need graves and after dat many ppl died ( 8 as i remember) but he didnt finish digging! He knew how to escape the Monsters exactly.. and had brilliant idea that They can go trough The tunnels cuz THEY SLEEP in middle of daylight. those weak points of that City... i mean That woman get escaped WHO CAME BACK WITH HIS OWN DAD! :D like... guys... isnt this weird? in deep down in his Brain somehow predicted who would choose to go to his father to get more info, and then he choose That Mom.. come on. And what a Miracle She came back to that Tree on the road. 😏😏 Victor is some kind of Wizard he literally draw dozens of papers about the story before he "got lost" (maybe he wanted to escape reality where he has his mental problems, and avoid people, and created this world) and he was drawing those stuff as a kid... like 40 years ago, really before them happening. what if he is the creator? all of the stuff really goes into this point.
I think mentioned in a theory video from a while back that I think Victor may, in some way, be causing some of these things to happen. It's probably inadvertent, like the town is using him and he isn't aware of it, but there are some hints that he has some kind of influence over Fromville, but we don't know enough yet to confirm.

I think personal possessions combined with the tree will take you to the lighthouse where you can go back to the real world to the location of the owner of the item and this is why they are so important. Numbers are postcodes of the houses of each person who ever came to the village, there seems to be some kind of logic twist that you have to hang your number so you can escape probably. Victor appears to be the person who is somehow connected to the place and responsible for bringing all the people through his visions/drawings to save the children - similar to the fight between Jacob and the man in black from Lost. Maybe there is a conflict between him and his sister or mother, remember that he does not want to leave this place as it is everything he has ever experienced and knows. Children could be a metaphor that all kids in the city are the key to figure out the secrets, analogy to Michael's kid from Lost.
I'm thinking something similar; it's random until the right "key" is presented. We still don't have any way to explain the significance of the numbers.

An expansion of crap that I posted somewhere else while waiting for your review, NF: Using the faraway trees effectively and safely may have something to do with one's mental and emotional states.....unless one is an inanimate object like a rock with a drawing on it, in which case, the trees just do a default maneuver and reject the item passing through by dropping it on the ground. The rejection would/could/does happen because otherwise, over decades or centuries, the interiors of the trees would get filled up with trash (leaves, potentially animal corpses, etc.) and become useless. Maybe? I wonder what would happen if a faraway tree burned? I wonder what would happen if a piece/branch of one faraway tree was placed in a different one? How 'bout one of the bottles? How 'bout fucking Jasper? Put that little turd of a puppet in one of the trees. I wonder what would happen if a person went into one of the trees with a rope/line tied to their ankle or wrist or something while someone outside the tree held the other end of the line? Assume, for a sec, that Fatima is pregnant. If she passed through one of the trees, would she still be pregnant when she emerged? Would she miscarry? Miranda's Camden bottle tree is probably also a faraway tree however, the mundanity of our material world acts as a severe impediment to its power. On the side of the truck, one can read 500. I fig'd this meant that the truck was a Ford F500, probably from the 1930s but I couldn't find a pic of a Ford of that model with headlights etc. that were configured like the wrecked truck has. In any case, I'd wager that the truck in the pool has something to do with this disappearance of the Motel that happened in the 1980s. Victor probably has a suppressed memory of what happened.....something big. Some big magic that went wrong. Nobody in town was there at the time save for probably Victor. Some smart ass like Jade was probably partly responsible for the disappearance of the Motel. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the Motel reappears and goodness knows what would be inside of it. The truck is upside down. It's certainly possible that the truck could roll like that as it went in the pool, but I think it's just as likely the truck fell out of the sky upside down.

I dont know about you guys, but for me its getting tiring to getting more and more mysteries and nothing getting answered or solved. Its S3E05 and it still behaves like s1e01. We still dont know anything, we dont know about those ghouls, the wood, the weird talisman, the hallucinations, the lighthouse, nothing. All we have is random character dramas, and deaths, and pointless detours. And my favourite multiple parts where you would get the feeling that "ah now we finally know something" when they venture in the woods or into the lighthouse, and guess what? Its nothing, actually nothing and back to the "uhh ohh I hate you for random xy thing and lets use the entire episode for our suffering". Honestly this series without the fillers would be like 1 and half season, and we wouldnt lose anything important. And why do they constantly bombarding us new mysteries and abandoning "old" ones without any answers? What was that cicada sickness and dungeon? What was those spotlamp monster thing? Why do the ghouls or whatever started to scream again? But who cares about these, lets add creepy kids, and fill the entire season with random artifical dramas. I have a feeling its going to be another Lost.
I think this will be different from Lost because that show was fraught with issues from day one. It's a miracle that it ever made it the final season. I do think that this showrunner is dipping into that same bag for inspiration, thus the focus on interpersonal drama over everything else. This season seems more intent on sticking to a handful of threads. The Lake + kimono lady, Fatima's change, Jasper and the bottle trees. If they stay focused on this, we'll be alright. But, I get the frustration. They introduced too many mysteries at the start, without a fair measure of answers along the way to make us feel like we're making progress.

I wish you were right and they will do something but if they really want to do then they better start to answer these things in this season too or they will get to the point were they have to scarifice an entire S4 just to answer all the mysteries from previous seasons because its getting way too bloated to just continue like this.
