The wife and I started playing yesterday. Just finished your last video from the play list. We love the game and your videos! Hope to see some more videos for VS!
I know this is a year old but thank you for making all of these very digestible guides for this game. At first i was very intimidated but really settled in quickly once i got my bearings.. or gears lol. This game is basically everything I wanted out of Minecraft and much more, definitely subbed!!
OK, thank you for those 16 guids, they are brilliant. I started VS years ago when it was on early access and watched severel tutorials with more or less good informations back than. After a long break I got back to the game a few weeks ago and found the newest version totaly different from what I was used to. Thankfully I found your stuff and it covered up all (for now) my questions. Even the prospecting stuff, which I did never really understood, seem to be clear now. So, thanks again. Great job.
I know it's not really your style of video, but I would absolutely love to see you do a playthrough of this game. Love the tutorials, concise and informative.
2 comments. First - you need only 10 borax pieces to get 20 borax powders which are needed for 50L of soaking solution. Second - the very 2L of leftovers allow processing exactly 1 small hide. If not in a hurry - just use this 2L for another small cycle of leathers when 8 large/12 medium are followed by 1 small.
Late reply, but alternatively you can always just have a spare barrel or bucket that you put your leftover tannin from other barrels in until it stocks up enough if you don't want to commit an entire barrel to one small hide
Just finished your full tutorial playlist. Thanks a ton you really have helped me get started and grasp the mechanics of Vintage Story. Any chance you would do a domestication of animals tutorial in the future for tips and tricks? And maybe delve into the mechanics of windmills?
They currently can only be obtained from traders, and are used only for selling to traders. Or you can release it at your home, but there's no way to tame it or whatever, so it'll just grow up and then try to kill you. I don't know for what reason they exist, but probably devs have plans for it.
Rabbits and Chickens can be herded towards any location, as they’ll always run away from you. Pigs and Sheep can be herded either aggressively or passively. Passive way is to utilize feeding troughs, as long as there’s at least on portion, animals will generally move towards them in their own time, but this can be very slow going. Digging a trench or fencing a path for them can help ensure they go only where you want them. The aggressive way is to punch the male, and have them chase you, the females will follow the male on their own. This works quite quickly, but can be fairly dangerous, especially in the case of bighorns. Also be naturally you need to be mindful of the creatures health while doing this.
Fingers crossed on some Vintage Story mod spotlights in the future. Especially since some interesting mods have come out more recently. Such as "Vintage Engineering" spiritual successor to the mod: "QPTECH". Which is even more inspired by the Minecraft mod: "Immersive Engineering" The dev even confirmed it to be inspired by that mod, they even plan to add the same machines in the future. Metal Press, Crusher, Squeezer, Cloches, etc. So look forward to those too. Storage Controller is another one. *Basically Simple Storage Networks, or Storage Drawers without the drawers*
@@nicktiger4 hell yeah! If you can't find Chalk or limestone, and you have some lime from trading but not enough to make a full barrel, anything is better than nothing
Dyed leather is used for a couple specific recipes, for example the leather mask requires black leather in specific. If I recall, there’s a shield and book recipe for every color of leather. But a lot of recipes require specifically plain leather, or are color locked
@@jpting_ I really wish they'd allow for the dying / coloring of all wearable items. Right now a lot of them look a little weird, especially if you try to mix and match things.
@@Dark__Thoughts For sure, having more extensive dyeing options would be wonderful for outfit design. I'd also love for them to adopt an armor stand system like starbound has, where you can easily swap your worn items with the stand, both armor and clothes
Sorta unrelated, but it would be refreshing if somebody could make guides for the survival mode players. Often guides reference using a map and coordinates when the hardcore playstyle is completely different to a normal playthrough.
@@JappaChow Too true! I currently have a bunch of mods; have things set to be as easy as possible so I can learn wihout dying every time I turn around. I'm watching as many Let's Plays and How Tos as I can manage, too. I hope to reach a point where I can turn off some of the mods and set things to base game or hard core and have a good time.
god i wish i could get this game but i am broke. from what i saw it can even play on crappier pc's like mine so for people who can't play Minecraft due to pc specs this would be a real treat.
A good point for Leather Armor: It has no disadvantages. So it's the perfect traveling armor!
Definitely a favorite of mine! When I’m not wearing full armor, I’m wearing the leather body armor
Leather traditionally wasn't even really armor. It was literally just meant to be sturdy, hard-wearing outer clothing.
Also, if you find limestone sand you can pan it and sometimes you'll find limestone that way.
Finally finished your series and I feel much better prepared to go deeper in my world, hope you make more of these, they really helped me!

Tip for the leftover liquids, it is enough for 1 small hide, so instead of transferring it somewhere you can just make 1 more leather.

thank goodness i can also use the ah cha cha logs for leathermaking
I was hoping you had not given up on this, I'm so happy you're back. I've been loving the game so far, thanks for your guides ❤

Ah yes my favorite wood

New Vintage Story Bit By Bit?! Heck yeah!
I wish borax and lime weren't so painful to get
thank you for all this work
i would love to see a bit by bit for the basics of automation. how it works and what you can do with it.
Yes! More guide goodness!
I so needed this video, i was wondering why the lime powder wasnt turning the water into lime water 😂
Excellent and pedagogical tutorials, thank you :)
Just asking if a Bit-by-Bit about husbandry could be possible
Can you make a guide about good way to lure/ capture animals. Because I've seen traders ask for wolf pups but I've got no clue how to do this.

@@noelka8134 It's for the exotic pet trade and your character, despite everything else they can do, has no business keeping an exotic pet. 🤣
@@Swordofswordom if it could be tamed, sure, but for now you can only keep it in a cage, which is not cool at all

I wanted to see the inventory of that backpack! How much space do you get? Awesome video.
I love your tutorials. Any chance for a fruit tree grafting guide?
Can you please make a video about how to make a dairy farm because I have all nutrients except dairy
can you use a jug to collect leftover dilutedborax/tannin?
Marble can be pulverized by a quern for lime
how do you place those leather blocks?
grinding seashells also makes lime when grinded
Yeah but that's really only a last resort, since the amount you get for it is so pitiful it's best to just use them for decorations
@@sylvo1057 yeah im aware but last resort is better than nothing hence why I said it

how did you make the menus popup and stay in the barrels/chests instead of in your screen?
In the settings menu, you have an option called "interactive mouse" or something like that, toggle it on
Open your settings menu and turn on Immersive Mouse mode
Marbel also grinds down to lime

I am hoping for a video on animal domestication soon, My friend and I are having a hard time trying to domesticate sheep
