After picking this game up a couple of years ago, it has quickly become one of my favorites. One of my favorite things about the game is the small details the devs decided to include. Like how moss is more common on the north side of trees, the smoke particles from campfires being carried in the wind, the way the clouds during the rain raise up into taller storm clouds which you can see off in the distance and know that it is raining over in that region (because rain is localized instead of global like Minecraft). So many small details that add to the immersion and make the world feel more lively. In the upcoming update they are adding particalized insects which is yet another small thing that adds so much. I do hope you continue to play this game because there is a lot more you haven't seen.
Fun video! A little tip I wanted to mention, holding an item in your off hand increases your hunger rate, so putting your torch away during the day will help your foraging and hunting last a bit longer. That was a rough spawn point on your first world, don't blame you for rerolling!
Oh boy, you’re going to love this. If you love old Minecraft, what you’ll enjoy is that every decision you make is valuable, and everything you get feels valuable. Nothing is trivial. You genuinely work for your progress, and you have to make hard decisions on what you will do, because there are real survival and progression tradeoffs for those early decisions. Enjoy it! Will definitely be watching.

@@dialko2596 I want to suggest you try playing this game in co-op. The experience is completely different, as if you are a small community in exile. I also recommend choosing the permadeath mode. And yes, if you play in co-op, I suggest setting the spawn radius to at least less than 100, otherwise you and the other players won't find each other. I'm glad you checked out this game, it's very atmospheric.
You did incredibly well for a first playthrough. Vintage Story quickly became one of my favourite games, it's basically all i wanted from a survival game, so glad more and more people are discovering it. There should be a new update coming pretty soon i belive, the game is constantly growing with a couple of big updates every year and the developers are always listening to the community.
Ever since I bought Vintage Story, I haven't played Minecraft. It doesn't scratch every itch that Minecraft does - redstone and command block engineers wouldn't be happy with the game at the moment and even builders would miss some features - but if you're looking for a blocky game about surviving, it doesn't get better than this. Although the best thing about VS, in my opinion, is the developers' relationship with their community - the modding support and the consistently high quality updates based on player feedback.
@@cherryrook8684 Indeed. Chiseling and support beams can be pretty nifty, I was mostly referring to the lack of diverse block types. I think the game would benefit from some sort of robust dye system which is no doubt coming in the future.
As a builder, after getting into Vintage, I can't ever look back to MC. Chiselling allows me to truly build whatever I want. :D The new blocks coming in the next update are also great, I've been playing around with them. Really excited to build more with em once 1.20 stable is out.
I'm happy you restarted because there's nothing less fun for a viewer than transitions and long journeys from spawn after death, breaks the story apart frequently so picking a better spawn wasn't the cheap option, I think it was the better option. Because now for the viewer Every journey from spawn won't be a battle and for us that's also good long term as you're less likely to burnout on a game save that's not spawning you on difficult terrain after every death. So for us this is really a win-win.
So a little context to this and to point out @3:30 this game wasn't just inspired by Minecraft it originally was a MineCraft mod called Vintagecraft. Then later became it's own standalone game.
And Vintage Craft itself was inspired by *another* Minecraft mod called TerraFirmaCraft And it's frankly kind of uncanny the similarities between the two
I'm glad you are having a blast with VS! I REALLY love this game. The progression is a VERY slow burn and may not be to everyones tastes. The cool part about VS is how customizable it is so that can be changed with mods and ingame settings. I personally play with the primative tools mods and slightly more ore surface spawns to boost the early game. Anyways if you have any any questions about VS let me know! I'm happy to help where I can! Love the vids man!
Alright, I subscribed now that I'm invested in seeing where this newbie take on VS goes... I love your house, and suggest installing as much fencing & gates as you possibly can, to complement your lack of fighting abilities or fleeing abilities. Please continue this series for at least a while (if you want)
So happy to see more people playing Vintage Story, the game deserves more attention. It indeed isn't for everyone and people might think it's tedious but it's so rewarding to do anything in this game that I don't mind spending hours to just make some clay stuff lol Hope you do more videos about VS in the future! And a tip I would give to everyone is ALWAYS check the survival guide, the Everything tab literally has everything about the game. Your first technological jump will be when you get the saw because it unlocks so much stuff.
As someone who has been playing MC since beta, I’ve always wished I could forget everything and re-learn the game. I really enjoy exploring open world sandbox games, so I’m always looking for new ones to explore. Thanks for showing this off and I hope you play more of it!
Woah, I didn't expect a Vintage Story video coming from the channel. Really good, keep going, this game is awesome! I'll let here a good list of tips that I learned while playing that you may find useful: • This game is NOT not nice to you like Minecraft. What I mean with this is, it is hard, sometimes brutally hard. So don't waste your time wandering around, being unproductive. Be fast. Otherwise, the winter will end you! Don't mind if you need to run, RUN! ; • The wild animais are more dangerous than the surface monsters. But the deep underground monsters... ; • There is a good alternative to firewood, the peat. It is found the same way as clay; • The character window (when pressing C) has some useful information about temperature, weather, time, rift activity, etc. For instance, in that place that it was raining nonstop, the rain is probably "almost always"; • These "portals" that were popping out in the end of the video are called temporal rifts. That's where the drifters come from at night. When the rift activity is "calm", it's safe to stay out at night; • There are areas of the world that are temporally unstable, mainly in the underground. If you stay in these areas, your temporal gear will constantly drain; • Always create a way-point when you find some ore nuggets in the surface. There's more ore underground! ; • I think you missed a fruit tree in 55:45. You weren't looking at it, but is was that tree with a different, lighter foliage; • When planting crops, always consider if the crop will survive the temperature variation of the region. Each crop has its max resistance both to heat and cold. You can make a greenhouse to plant when it's colder, but it's generally not sufficient during winter; • Yes, you can make backpacks. They need leather, which is, let's say, not lengthy at all to obtain :) ; • The first great progression happens when you make your first metal tools. The second when you make an anvil and a saw, and the third when you acquire leather.
Dude I almost fell out my chair when you brought up stronghold lmao I fucking love that game and and the sequels are good to. Keep it up man enjoying the content.
HELL YEAHHHHH I was just getting back into VS again and you have no clue how fast I clicked when I saw this. I would 100% watch a series on this from you.
this game is a great example of strong identity. the game know what it is and it thoughtfully put together. truly, man vs nature at its finest. what i hate about a lot of "realistic" survival sandbox games, everything seem to be put their to be an obstacle and normally is poorly thought out. not here, Vintage story do it right.
@darkskingaming07 it is very playable on old hardware. I've played it fine on an old core duo machine with an old nVidia 900 series video. There are some mods that cause issues with that pc, but vanilla or even lightly modded works ok.
Vintage Story is such a great game, glad you're having fun with it. :) You can see the "rift activity" (current rate of "portal" spawning) in the character menu (C by default). Tip: you get better food preservation by storing your containers away from sunlight, so moving your clay vessel inside should give you a bit more time on your foodstuffs. Eventually you will want to think about making a proper cellar (a specific room type, doesn't have to actually be underground), especially once your crops start to come in.
Love seeing people get into this game. I hope to see more from you about the game! I love the feeling of progression the game gives. You really feel like you're achieving something great when you make your first metal tools. Like cavemen discovering fire xD
This game is absolutely wonderful, glad to see more people enjoying it and giving it some exposure. It originally was inspired by the Minecraft mod TerrafirmaCraft, it ran quite similar in its style but of course, Minecraft being what it is, is limited in it's modability and such. Thus having a whole separate engine specifically built for this and with modding in mind has created this wonderful game. There's really a lot to it, the metal progression currently reaches steel, there's some mechanics in place for mechanism like wind mills and some smithing automation/assistance. A couple useful tips for playing, well, 2 buttons really, is C for character and current world data, shows your temperature and what the local region is about. Second button is H, hover over any item and press it and it'll tell you what it's for and how to get it. Obviously you've already seem the guides in there too. Rest I'm happy to just leave you to figure out, seems you got the right idea on most of it.
It's awesome that you gave the game a shot! It's no joke when you say you're only scratching the surface, but I won't spoil anything. I can't wait to see another video!
Yes man keep going, I really liked this video and how you presented everything. There is so much more awesome stuff to get into in this game. It's worth it!

Welcome to the community :) You will find that Vintage Story has a lot of depth to offer. Not just in world generation and caves below but also in its late game mechanics. Its a ride but one that will be really rewarding in a greater sense if you stick with it all the way through ^^
I'm glad to see more people enjoying this game! It's really fun to see someone discovering the mechanics through trial and error, and you seem to have picked it up quickly enough to get moving with it and not die, lol. It's got a learning curve, but once you're ahead of it the game gets less frustrating and more satisfying.
Damn Dialko, share more of those! I was looking into this game a few months ago and totally forgot about it, but it sure does look amazing, and a pretty fresh experience too. Loved the video
Really enjoyed this! Very fun to see someone figure out the first steps of this game. Restarting after you've got your bearings a bit is actually something that I'd recommend because otherwise you might have "wasted" too much time to survive winter, which requires a decent bit of preparation.
It's definitely not an easy game and can be tricky to grasp sometimes. But it is super satisfying, the mods are incredible and the runescape music fit this game so well! Really good choice :)

I felt for you after those multiple deaths. You had a rough spawn for sure! I'm glad you didn't quit and continued giving it a try, it's a fantastic game once you get into it!
Hey mate. I'm watching your video right now. I'm 29 minutes in and I like that you mentioned Stronghold. That game seems interesting to me and I might have to try it. Thanks for sharing that! I like the way you're playing Vintage Story as well. Very relaxed. You're enjoying it and that's cool to see.
I really can't wait for the next major update (coming in the next few months). They're gonna add a bunch of lore dungeons (currently only 1), different modes of travel, and a bunch of QOL and realistic improvements like a beehive kiln and smithing molds breaking if water get poured on them
i loved this video! definitely make more vintage story!! i’d love to see how the game continues to progress, especially since this was my first vintage story video i’ve watched!!
Vintage Story is one of those games that scratches an itch I didn't know I had when it comes to similar survival games, let alone Minecraft. It's got to be one of the best games I've played in this genre. Here's a few tips, from one Seraph to another; -As you might have noticed, the Help menu is your best friend. Always make sure to reference it whenever you get stuck on something or need some further elaboration. -The teal gear right in the middle of your HUD is your Temporal Stability. Think of it like a sanity meter, since this game does have some slight lovecraft themes as you've noticed with the drifters and the rifts. It mainly depletes when you're either standing in said rift or spent a long time underground or in certain chunks, and the lower it is the more dangerous monsters will spawn, the world becomes all wobbly and hard to navigate, and you even lose health if it's low enough. -Food Storage is a must when it comes to surviving winter. You have the right idea with making crocks, but you can go much further with it; making a cellar can help a lot with preserving food along with experimenting with different recipes, and making sealed crocks can bump up that preservation time even further if you have animal fat or bees wax (and yes, there's bees in this game and they can be a pain in the ass to get). -Metal working is just as in depth as the other mechanics in Vintage Story. If you want to get into it, there's both the help menu as well as plenty of videos on the subject. To help you get started, you'll want to find copper bits and collect about 20 to 40 of them (Be sure to mark where you find said bits, as the actual ore is often a few blocks below the ground if you need more copper). Then sculpt some pickaxe and hammer molds as well as a crucible. You'll also need some coal or charcoal to get your fire pit up to temperature. From there, make some tongs, throw the ingredients into the pit and you'll be on your way. -The Crouch key is going to be your main method of interacting with stuff as you've noticed. It extends to much more than just interacting with some things; You can make stockpiles of various things to help with storage, such as ingots or fire logs, clay molding, and so much more. The game does a really good job in explaining what keys you need to press and/or hold in order to interact with something so be sure to pay attention to them. -If you're up to it, you can look into the countless mods that have been made for the game. I recommend some quality of life mods such as Primitive Survival, Player Corpse, and Death Waypoints. -You can set a new spawn if you end up making a base far away from your original spawn. You'll need a Temporal Gear which you can get from Drifters, albeit rarely depending on the tier they are. Keep in mind that, unless you mess with a certain setting in the world configurations, the amount of spawns you get at your new spawn location is limited, around 20 or so. Once that runs out, you'll be sent back to your original spawning location the next time you die, so be sure to refresh it when your spawns run low. -Be sure to rotate your crops. Each crop you plant has different nutrient needs and whatever soil you use to farm can deplete on whatever nutrients the plant requires. If you want to make the most out of farming, variety is the key (that and higher quality soils such as Terra Preta. Be sure to keep an eye out for that when exploring). I could write a billion more tips, but the joy of vintage story is figuring things out to yourself. All of these are to help you hit the ground running, but go at your own pace. Glad to hear that you enjoy the game : D
if you ever find that napping and clayforming is giving you the omega carpel tunnel i would recommend the napster mod, it allows for an option to allow for automatic clay placement, napping and smithing, doesn't make it instant, just makes it less taxing on your wrist, especially if you are making a bunch of clay stuff. shingles are a nightmare without the mod.
You have no idea how miffed I am watching this playthough... how long you've played without meeting a bear. Also, "I can't find food!" he says as he walks by a ton of mushrooms. lol. This game man.
only the human species is capable of making an interactive simulation of how we came about into this planet billions of years ago, truly amazing we are
It's fun seeing new players discover mechanics, seems you figured things out pretty well! I had to look up a guide because the in-game tutorial wasn't in yet. Also, excellent video. I appreciate the cuts, sad we missed out on you starting your house but ah well! I also didn't know Runescape had such cool music until now
Nice - no shame in restarting to get a better spawn!. Might i suggest a gate to keep the drifters out of your yard? Also, look into a cellar in the guide for reducing the spoilage timer. At its most basic, a hole in the ground with dirt over the top of a storage vessel will do. Pressing 'H' while you hover over items in your inventory will show what they go into. Oh, and you can have multiple inventories open at the same time. So open your guide and then your crafting grid to see them side by sideish. Make sure you mark nuggets of copper on the map when you find them for later reference (also, check the keybinds for the minimap if you want to see it).
I've been playing Vintage Story (VS) since v1.5.5 in 2018, when the game still looked a lot like Minecraft, but they were already incorporating the Lore which made it similar, but different in those early stages. With each update, it looks less and less like vanilla Minecraft to me. And there is still so much more planned and look forward to! I feel the Lore really makes this game stand out from Minecraft. Minecraft really doesn't seem to have a definitive story and every player might come away with their own ideas of why there are undead, creepers, the various villages, the Illagers, the Warden, access to The Nether or The End. Killing the various mobs and bosses changes very little. It's more Sandbox than Story. Vintage Story currently takes you from the Stone Age to the Steel Age, but the technology is currently Medieval with touches of future tech in the Lore and some in-world items/areas. The title of the game gives you a hint. There is definitely something going on with the Rifts and Temporal Storms, but we currently have no idea what happened to the previous civilization(s), but the Lore gives us glimpses into the past. The more we read, the more we learn, and for some it makes us hunger for more information, since none of the ruins we find on the surface really support the idea that Rifts and Temporal Storms were normal in the past. I think the VS developers used their own experiences, looked around at other games, and asked other gamers what they liked/disliked about certain games. Being a small company, they were able to react to feedback, and now we have a game that has several toggles and sliders for various computer hardware capabilities, quality of game visuals and sounds, and accessibility tweaks. I think the developers really listened to the players and, to a point, tried to satisfy everyone; the combat players, the builders, the survival players, and those who just want to explore and find secrets. VS has several different Modes of play besides Survival and Creative. VS has a separate Customization screen, so players can tailor their world to their own play style. Good at combat, bad at mining? We've got drop down menus to make combat more difficult and mining easier. You don't want to deal with snow or rain, but still want lots of water? We can do that! You still want to play Survival, but don't want to deal with the Temporal stuff. We can turn it off while keeping the Lore available. Oh, you don't want anything to do with the Temporal stuff or the Lore? Let's go back and change your Mode and then come back to the Customization screen. You've played the vanilla game, and now you want to check out the mods? There is a tab on the Home Page that will lead you right to it. You can make sure you only look at mods for the current game version. You can look at mods that have the Technology, Magic, or Food tag to name a few. You can even follow mods so you'll know when they update. You can click on a creator's name and find out what other mods they've made, or look for their name in the drop-down menu. And you can find out if a mod is client side only or for servers. And if you're looking for a server, but don't know where to start, the VS Home Page has a link for that, too. All you need to know is one website and everything Vintage Story is on it. Super simple. We just got the 1.20-pre1 update to preview and test the newest features before it's released as a 1.20.x stable. Time to learn the basics!!
I was randomly recommended this video. I’ve never seen this game or your channel before, but this looks awesome! I’m gonna subscribe to be sure not to miss the next one.
The spiritual successor to the original TerraFirmaCraft, and you're finally playing it! :) You could argue this's what Minecraft would've been if Mojang took the survival game route or if they did Notch's "Realism" gamemode idea. As much as I love this type of survival mode, I appreciate Minecraft as an ultimate sandbox more.
Ive been playing VS for awhile now and immersed hundreds of hours in the game. It screwed me up hearing the music, because it fits so well. I kept thinking, "is that runescape music?" Lol. Good stuff man, keep it up
I can suggest two mods to you (and Vintage Story supports the Mod community amazingly well). The Mod, "Carry On" lets you build a reed chest and put it on your back. You have to take it off and place it on the ground to put anything into it or take anything out; it slows your sprint speed; and (IIRC) ticks up your hunger rate. However, it gives you a bunch of extra slots to stuff things into while out foraging, and it's not at all a game-breaker. Secondly, if you like even better terrain generation, try "Plains and Valleys." That "smooths out" the world generation and makes it far more realistic. Avoid the "Rivers" mod, though. It's not a bad "first cut," but it's not great -- especially with "Plains and Valleys" and of the two, the latter is a far better choice. I was surprised you made it through the first night, but then the odds caught up with you on the second day. For first-time players, multiple deaths in rapid succession *is* the Vintage Story experience. 😆 That said, staying close to your initial spawn point can be problematic. If you spawn in a forest, you need to get away *in a hurry* because bears and wolves also spawn in them. (Basically, if you see sticks, horsetails and blueberries, you're *in the wrong place* ....) Also, you need soil fertility that's at least medium, and rainfall that's at least "Common" (although "Very Common" is better, but "All The Time" is a bit much).
I hope you continue to upload your gameplay! It's been very entertaining to watch so far, and I'll subscribe for more! Keep in mind that your handbook is your best friend, and when in doubt, Shift+H while looking at anything in the world will pull up it's page automatically in the handbook.
I wonder if my potato laptop can run this game. It reminds me of terrafirmacraft and honestly you remind me of Etho. This is nostalgic af for those reasons. New subscriber for sure.

Tbh as a builder Vintage Story scratches the itch more than MC for me. The chisel can do wonderous things if applied correctly
@@cherryrook8684 Indeed. Chiseling and support beams can be pretty nifty, I was mostly referring to the lack of diverse block types. I think the game would benefit from some sort of robust dye system which is no doubt coming in the future.
@@savlecz1187 Yea true, i would be ecstatic if we could dye wood and plaster
As a builder, after getting into Vintage, I can't ever look back to MC. Chiselling allows me to truly build whatever I want. :D
The new blocks coming in the next update are also great, I've been playing around with them. Really excited to build more with em once 1.20 stable is out.
vintage story devs being fans of the channel is sick bro. Good stuff.
I’m having a bad day today and this video genuinely helped, I really hope you continue Vintage Story
So a little context to this and to point out @3:30 this game wasn't just inspired by Minecraft it originally was a MineCraft mod called Vintagecraft. Then later became it's own standalone game.
And Vintage Craft itself was inspired by *another* Minecraft mod called TerraFirmaCraft
And it's frankly kind of uncanny the similarities between the two
I'm glad you are having a blast with VS!
Love the vids man!
i don't think i've been so immersed in a let's play in a looooong time
Alright, I subscribed now that I'm invested in seeing where this newbie take on VS goes... I love your house, and suggest installing as much fencing & gates as you possibly can, to complement your lack of fighting abilities or fleeing abilities.
Please continue this series for at least a while (if you want)
So happy to see more people playing Vintage Story, the game deserves more attention. It indeed isn't for everyone and people might think it's tedious but it's so rewarding to do anything in this game that I don't mind spending hours to just make some clay stuff lol
Hope you do more videos about VS in the future! And a tip I would give to everyone is ALWAYS check the survival guide, the Everything tab literally has everything about the game. Your first technological jump will be when you get the saw because it unlocks so much stuff.
Please do more, loved watching every moment of the video! And listening to your thoughts was really interesting too
As someone who has been playing MC since beta, I’ve always wished I could forget everything and re-learn the game. I really enjoy exploring open world sandbox games, so I’m always looking for new ones to explore. Thanks for showing this off and I hope you play more of it!
Woah, I didn't expect a Vintage Story video coming from the channel. Really good, keep going, this game is awesome!
I'll let here a good list of tips that I learned while playing that you may find useful:
• This game is NOT not nice to you like Minecraft. What I mean with this is, it is hard, sometimes brutally hard. So don't waste your time wandering around, being unproductive. Be fast. Otherwise, the winter will end you! Don't mind if you need to run, RUN! ;
• The wild animais are more dangerous than the surface monsters. But the deep underground monsters... ;
• There is a good alternative to firewood, the peat. It is found the same way as clay;
• The character window (when pressing C) has some useful information about temperature, weather, time, rift activity, etc. For instance, in that place that it was raining nonstop, the rain is probably "almost always";
• These "portals" that were popping out in the end of the video are called temporal rifts. That's where the drifters come from at night. When the rift activity is "calm", it's safe to stay out at night;
• There are areas of the world that are temporally unstable, mainly in the underground. If you stay in these areas, your temporal gear will constantly drain;
• Always create a way-point when you find some ore nuggets in the surface. There's more ore underground! ;
• I think you missed a fruit tree in 55:45. You weren't looking at it, but is was that tree with a different, lighter foliage;
• When planting crops, always consider if the crop will survive the temperature variation of the region. Each crop has its max resistance both to heat and cold. You can make a greenhouse to plant when it's colder, but it's generally not sufficient during winter;
• Yes, you can make backpacks. They need leather, which is, let's say, not lengthy at all to obtain :) ;
• The first great progression happens when you make your first metal tools. The second when you make an anvil and a saw, and the third when you acquire leather.
The _Hunter's Backpack_ uses raw pelts instead of full-blown leather.
Dude I almost fell out my chair when you brought up stronghold lmao I fucking love that game and and the sequels are good to. Keep it up man enjoying the content.
Stronghold is the goat tbh
HELL YEAHHHHH I was just getting back into VS again and you have no clue how fast I clicked when I saw this.
I would 100% watch a series on this from you.
this game is a great example of strong identity. the game know what it is and it thoughtfully put together. truly, man vs nature at its finest.
what i hate about a lot of "realistic" survival sandbox games, everything seem to be put their to be an obstacle and normally is poorly thought out. not here, Vintage story do it right.
I just started playing the game a few days ago too and i've been LOVING IT. Its everything I wish Minecraft could be and more.
bro, one question. is the game too demanding for the system requirements?
@@darkskingaming07 You can run the game on a toaster. It is extremely well optimized to run on low end systems.
@@darkskingaming07The game offers many graphical setting options.
You can see the "rift activity" (current rate of "portal" spawning) in the character menu (C by default).
It's worth it!
this series is something special in the making, please keep posting!
glad youre playing VS! its been one of my favorite games for nearly a year now and its so much fun with friends. i think seeing you and mongster playing VS together would be my dream video lol
I like how calm ur videos are, I always watch them while drawing, thank u for makin them and I'm glad that I found ur channel :)
This is like my favorite let's play of this game that I've found. The only downside is that there's only one episode of it, lol. Great work, hope to see more!
Welcome to the community :)
You will find that Vintage Story has a lot of depth to offer. Not just in world generation and caves below but also in its late game mechanics.
Its a ride but one that will be really rewarding in a greater sense if you stick with it all the way through ^^
I know you turned music off to make it easier to edit but the music adds so much to the experience in this game. I would recommend turning it on
Holy shit I'm so glad you found Vintage Story! I love this game so so much and I sincerely hope you fall in love with it.
I'm glad to see more people enjoying this game! It's really fun to see someone discovering the mechanics through trial and error, and you seem to have picked it up quickly enough to get moving with it and not die, lol. It's got a learning curve, but once you're ahead of it the game gets less frustrating and more satisfying.
would love more of this game man, love your content.
Would love to see more videos of Vintage Story. It's a game that's my type and you just make it so interesting.
Welcome to Vintage Story! Can’t wait to see how you progress. It’s a truly great game. Cheers!
I love how chill and genuine your commentary is, wonderful video, i hope you keep making more Vintage Story videos
I never watch any Vintage Story playthrough but this was really great. You have a good calm voice and character.
This is giving similar vibes to when i first started playing Minecraft 😊 Learning how things work and exploring is fun!
great stuff really enjoyed seeing you play this. if you livestreams add the vod into the next parts even, or just leave them unedited, tbh would happily have this playing while working
Yes, thinking of streaming the game and then maybe editing vids into another video like this
@@dialko2596 would be great! wouldnt want to miss out on the content🤗
Gotta say i agree with you on the stronghold comparison, around the iron age itll really start to remind you of it. I still hear that announcer when i need resources lol. Great video and i look forward to seeing you do more Vintage Story:D
Im so happy that you are finally getting around to playing this masterpiece, also LOVE THE CONTENT!!!
i'd love to see more of this game! this is super cool
I'm happy I found your first-time Vintage Story video. Fun to see others' reactions to that first experience. Hope to see more Vintage Story content from you.
This really brings me back to Survival Craft. A lot of the aesthetic they got going is pretty similar to Survival Craft.
got randomly recommended this video today and honestly it was pretty nice watching you play this. hope you do more
What a beautiful first time palythrough. The game really shines when you approach it blind and curious like this.
It's been 8 years and this is the first time I hear about this game, wow I really wanna play that!
Basically the entire first year you roleplay as a Stark because the winter is coming.
(Upon watching further I see you already referenced that lol)
21:25 YOU CAN HAVE THE RECIPE AND THE CRAFTING GRID OPEN AT THE SAME TIME!?!?!?? Thank God, that makes things SO much easier!!
This is such a great video and a great game. I'd love to stick around for more, maybe a series if you're up to it. Your clear voice, commentary, and overall entertainment is great. Keep up the good work man!!
I felt for you after those multiple deaths. You had a rough spawn for sure! I'm glad you didn't quit and continued giving it a try, it's a fantastic game once you get into it!
I’d love to see more of this!! Such a comforting vid
Great vid 👍 would love to see more
I had no idea Vintage Story was such a pretty & complexed game. It's like Minecraft on steroids.
Here's a few tips, from one Seraph to another;
-As you might have noticed, the Help menu is your best friend.
I really hope you continue this as a series! I love your commentary and VS is one of my fav games
if you ever find that napping and clayforming is giving you the omega carpel tunnel i would recommend the napster mod, it allows for an option to allow for automatic clay placement, napping and smithing, doesn't make it instant, just makes it less taxing on your wrist, especially if you are making a bunch of clay stuff. shingles are a nightmare without the mod.
Really hoping that wasn’t the only episode of this!! This could be an amazing story!
A vintage story series please!?
I love this game so much, it's great to see more people enjoying it.
really enjoyed watching this, would tots watching another part of you playing.
You have no idea how miffed I am watching this playthough... how long you've played without meeting a bear.
Also, "I can't find food!" he says as he walks by a ton of mushrooms. lol. This game man.
Loving the series so far!
I hope you'll continue recording this game. I love Minecraft, but VS has a special place in my heart.
only the human species is capable of making an interactive simulation of how we came about into this planet billions of years ago, truly amazing we are
It's fun seeing new players discover mechanics, seems you figured things out pretty well! I had to look up a guide because the in-game tutorial wasn't in yet.
Also, excellent video. I appreciate the cuts, sad we missed out on you starting your house but ah well! I also didn't know Runescape had such cool music until now
Love the nature aspect of this game, great vid
i really enjoy your videos, your voice and the way you talk are very calming while still being interesting and engaging
This video reminds me of the oldschool PSJ and Etho minecraft lets plays, Earned a sub and cant wait for more
Nice - no shame in restarting to get a better spawn!.
After watching a 5 minute rundown on gardening, I feel like an absolute pro
Cant wait to see your reaction when you get to yhe archives!
I'm new to this channel and really enjoyed this video. Hoping you do more! Subbed.
I absolutely love Vintage Story. I love that it’s hard, there’s a lot to do, but it doesn’t make it feel grindy or redundant.
I was randomly recommended this video. I’ve never seen this game or your channel before, but this looks awesome! I’m gonna subscribe to be sure not to miss the next one.
The spiritual successor to the original TerraFirmaCraft, and you're finally playing it! :)
You could argue this's what Minecraft would've been if Mojang took the survival game route or if they did Notch's "Realism" gamemode idea. As much as I love this type of survival mode, I appreciate Minecraft as an ultimate sandbox more.
I love that you use classic runescape music. Very fitting
i hope there's a part two! i enjoyed this, thank you for making it
Really enjoyed this video, very laidback. Might give that game a shot.
Warm greetings from the Netherlands🇳🇱.
Secondly, if you like even better terrain generation, try "Plains and Valleys."
That "smooths out" the world generation and makes it far more realistic.
That said, staying close to your initial spawn point can be problematic.
If you spawn in a forest, you need to get away *in a hurry* because bears and wolves also spawn in them.
(Basically, if you see sticks, horsetails and blueberries, you're *in the wrong place* ....)
Also, you need soil fertility that's at least medium, and rainfall that's at least "Common" (although "Very Common" is better, but "All The Time" is a bit much).
I hope you continue to upload your gameplay! It's been very entertaining to watch so far, and I'll subscribe for more! Keep in mind that your handbook is your best friend, and when in doubt, Shift+H while looking at anything in the world will pull up it's page automatically in the handbook.
Thank you love watching people dive in blind and getting the full effect I regret modding silly day 1 can not wait to see more here👍
I wonder if my potato laptop can run this game.
It reminds me of terrafirmacraft and honestly you remind me of Etho. This is nostalgic af for those reasons.
New subscriber for sure.
hope to see you play more of vintage story I love seeing new people find and enjoy this game
Would love to see more of this series. This game is so comfy.
No spoilers, just one quick tip: Never sleep. Spend your nights doing what needs to be done indoors, and that includes reading the in-game wiki, which is quite extensive.
I've also been curious about this game. It draws heavy inspiration from the Minecraft mod 'TerrafirmaCraft'.
It’s really fun if you like that sorta thing
I am pretty sure its made by same people behind TerrafirmaCraft. They explain their background and intentions on the vintage story website.
@@myrtlemist checked out their website, no mention of Terrafirmacraft. They did work on the Vintagecraft mod for release 1.8 and one of them briefly worked on Hytale, but that's it.
@@rogerdecks Ah, thanks for the correction, I guess I misremembered it!
@@myrtlemistnot the same people definitely inspired but the people who made vs made a different mod called vintage craft
