    Thanks for the info, and entertaining content. I have a question about the decision to run grizzly locker in the Colorado. I have a grizzly locker in the front of my truck and love it. It works absolutely flawlessly. I also have a spool in the back and want to switch to a locker. I was thinking of an arb or the zip locker from Yukon. My truck is driven 50/50 street and trail. What are the things that I should factor with these different options?? I would fun a grizzly in the rear too but there are a lot of people that tout the superiority of a selectable.

    2 questions about the 9"
    I've always heard if you run a 9" in the front you need to use reverse cut gears, is this true?
    2nd question, high pinion 9" require reverse cut gears, but what if you use it in the front?

    • @Customcreationsllc
      @Customcreationsllc 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reverse cut gears are for when the pinion is above the centerline. So the gears you need are based on the housing you have. The drive side is longer so stronger. When axles go in the front the axle is run backwards to drive forward so you end up running on the reverse side of the gears. Engineers moved the pinion to the top and "reversed" the gear pattern so it will run on the drive/long side of the gear when driving forward in the front axle.

    • @BigTireGarage
      @BigTireGarage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As long as you don't tighten the pinion nut too much to crush the sleeve anymore...I count the threads above the nut...and mark where it is on the pinion to make sure it goes back to the original spot

    know this is an older video but, I was wondering (I'm new to the beefing up of rears or upgrading any of my vehicles) I would love to make my 2002 Chevy Express 1ton diesel cargo van into a 4x4 vehicle. I guess I'm asking is should I find a 3500 truck as a donor or pick and choose from different vehicles. Oh I drive this everyday so it's not going to be a show vehicle.
