  • It's the latest idea in off road axles: combining the benefits of the Ford 9 inch and the strong Dana 60. Ian takes us through step by step, on how to plan, measure and build this bulletproof axle combination. And in our event of the week, we're off to Moab's Jeep Safari, and some of it's hardest most legendary trails.

These old vids trip me out. Can't believe they have that tube buggy with about two inches of sidewall. Mall crawler

You do realize that alleged mall crawler is running on 38x15.50 right.

Wait, is this a current production show, or is this from the 90's?

The show is from 2007. I think this particular episode was a couple years in, since the first couple seasons included Jessi Combs - a fabricator, host, and racer. She sadly passed away trying to set a land speed record in Oregon in 2019.

You guys hiring at all? You don't have your top roll cage members angled - in your computer drawing they run straight front to back. It's about a bazillion times stronger if you make them off angled even five degrees to create trapezoids or triangles. Sure😅 it's harder to attach body panels without a tape measure to accommodate the angled tubes..... , but it makes the roll cage a bazillion times stronger. A bazillion is the technical term they taught me at Harvard. 😅 Basically, if you roll the vehicle onto the front corners of the roll cage, it can collapse the whole roof of the vehicle because it has no angle bracing. All the tubes meet at ninety degrees.
