    Hi yogis! I'm not always in the mood for a full practice. I admit it! :) Sometimes, I'm short on time and I just want to move and stretch with poses that feel really good to me. Try this 30-minute yoga class when you're sore, tired, or lazy; and you will feel so much better after! Thanks everyone! - Maris

    I love your videos and your style! I love that you don't use any music and that it is just yoga straight up and pure. I love that you keep all your talk pertaining to your poses explanations and your natural warmth of personality shines through with these. I love the 30 min. length ones, very good for older bodies. The silence in the videos and just your explanations is enough and beautiful, allows us to go into our own head space as well as bodies and it becomes a meditation for ourselves as I believe yoga should be. I have been doing yoga for over 40 years and intend to continue till the end! Please keep uploading new routines, you are my favourite yoga teacher☺️💖

      Thank you so much for practicing with me, Laura! I'm glad you enjoy the classes. I do use music in some of my videos. Everyone has a different preference when it comes to this. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with. :) - Maris

      Well said!!!!!! Great flow. Good energy. Just the right amount of talking where I can not wear my glasses & know a pose changed but not be distracting. Calming voice. I normally do your more intense videos and did this one today. It is so wonderful!! You are really gifted at what you do Maris!

    I am a complete novice at this, but I decided to take a crack at yoga for mindfulness because I'm a stressed out grad student. It must've been divine intervention for me to have clicked this video because after following this video, I was the most relaxed I'd ever been in my entire adult life. I almost fell asleep I was so chilled out! Thank you for your instruction and the energy & time you take to share this.

    It's a pleasure practicing with you. I love how you remind us to be kind and attentive to our bodies. Thank you Maris for this nice and easy flow practice! I am on the mend from a terrible case of the flu, and after sleeping for 18 hours straight yesterday (yikes! That's the most I've ever slept), I was in need of some gentle movement and stretches. I didn't want anything too strenuous, as I don't want to aggravate the healing process, but my body was so sore and stiff from inactivity, and being sick. This was a perfect practice for me today :)

    Hi Maris, do you know of a good book explaining why we do certain moves, & what are the benefits? Like cobra waves, or why do our feet have to be pointed inward when we are sideways on the mat?Thank you,

    • @YogaUpload
      @YogaUpload  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't know of a book that will answer these questions specifically, but there are a lot of good anatomy yoga books out there. Some books I used for training and still refer to are: yoga anatomy books by Ray Long (Key Poses and Key Muscles of Yoga), Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff, Your Body Your Yoga by Bernie Clark. You can also look up Tom Myers - he has a lot of yoga anatomy articles online explaining the why behind certain poses. Hope that helps. :)

    Hey Maris! I love your videos and I've been practicing with you for a while now. I just have a couple of questions:
    Do you have any videos for more long-time students of yours? Sometimes I find that, because I generally know where you're headed with poses (esp when we've already done one side) I find myself lingering a lot in between poses, where you're describing how to set it up on each side. This causes about 5-10 seconds per each pose that I am just "hanging" and it makes me really distracted, which frustrates me.
    My other question is about Savasana - I can NOT relax my face and keep my eyes closed. It isn't possible. So, I find myself struggling the entire time between forcing my eyes shut and keeping them wide open, blinking, full of light, etc (not very relaxing). Any suggestions?
    Thanks so much! You're an amazing instructor :)
