A few weeks back this sweet elder lady talked to me about her needing my help to clean up her backyard. She said her husband used to maintain their lawn until he passed away 2 years ago. She also mentioned that he used to be a big time hoarders so he left behind a lot of trash in the backyard. It was a hot hot day when I cleaned this backyard. Temp raising all the way up to 103 degrees. They were also having a Raccoon issues so I was always on the look out. After a few days I got it all cleaned out the best I could.

Being on the receiving end of kindness is such a blessing and relief. My plumber showed up on his day off to clear out my late husband's packed garage to my surprise. Mr. Cris thank you for blessing and bringing relief to my fellow widow. Thats biblical, you know❤😊

I always wonder if they look for any wasp nests before starting those machines etc. You never know what is in there.

I'm not a mental health professional, but to me, it appears that what you're describing is the sadness, confusion and obsession of mental illness ... in one of its MANY forms. I felt like cheering for Mr Cris. The poor widow was probably doing the dance of the forest maidens when he was done. I know I would have. Good for him!!

John, we woman say it hording. But for him, I don't think he really was a horder. My husband passed away and I have all his equipment, tools, and other thinking. Yes he maintained the truck, cars, rv, and so on. So now I have the responsibility of getting rid of it. Sure I have sold some of the things. But other things I have not. There's so much and to be honest I feel like walking away and just leaving everything and start over some where else. 😢. But I try to handled it the best I can. Yes I have donated to the Goodwill and St Vincent DePaul.
I don’t consider this hoarding just junk that he never threw away after a project or never finished. We all have that to some degree! 🤷🏼♀️

In the heat of a Texas summer you persevered! The pool was not very inviting but possibly can be recovered. Very kind of you Cris to dedicate your time in helping her. I can only imagine what's inside that garage and storage shed. You went above and beyond!

Talk about the feats that Hercules had to do. That seemed like that backyard qualified as 1. Great job. What I didn't get was why it took her so long to have it done. I don't care how much I love or care for someone, you live there as well. Sometimes love means knowing when to walk away to prove a point. I have I rule, and that I only keep what I use on a frequently basis. If I can't find reason to have it. Out to the curve it goes.

Hoarding is a mental health issue, not a trashy issue. Thanks for helping.😊❤ He also my have come up during the Depression when nothing was thrown away cause you never knew when you would need it again & couldn’t get it. My dad was like that. At least he was a neat hoarder. But we were amazed at the volume of “junk” he had saved over the years “just in case”.

I can tell this yard this yard was loved at some point, before aging and health issues. For one man, you really did an amazing job. You brought the vision of beauty back. Hopefully she can get help removing the clutter so it can be managed easily and bring her some peace. I find clutter to be stressful. So your help provided more than you know. You rock.

Greetings! I can see the frustration on your face trying to cut the overgrown grass and remove junk from within, The husband is for sure collecting nothing but trash. A lot of unorganized stacks of lumber from a broken fence that was left on the ground. Must be living the good life when they were younger, judging by the nice swimming pool in the backyard. That is a lot of work put into cleaning that yard! Awesome job buddy.

Boy, that cleanup goes a long way in making that property liveable. A little fence repair and heavy removal of "junk" along with pool maintenance would be a great spot for grandkids to visit. I hope she was able to get her arms around the inside of the house. Great job, above and beyond ...
