- I arrived at the next customer, who on the phone asked me to cut a hedge of Ivy about 20m long, as there were complaints from the City Department that the hedge interferes with people walking on the sidewalk, but as in my opinion it was not very overgrown and most likely complained one of the neighbors. He wanted me to cut the ivy off the side of the sidewalk and that was it.
After talking to the owner I decided to look in the yard and was in a bit of shock as the whole yard was completely overgrown with weeds, the sidewalk, parking lot, the place where there used to be a lawn and even on the side of the main road the whole yard was in weeds and small bushes that had sprouted through the stones.
He said he would like to hire someone in the fall to clean up the yard, but I offered to help him, that for the same price in addition to trimming the hedges I would also clear the yard of weeds and mow the lawn, to which the owner gladly agreed.
First, I started working by clearing the sidewalk of weeds, then I moved to the yard, behind the laurel hedge there was a pile of laurel branches that the owner cut himself from the sidewalk.
I also cleared a large area in front of the house and from the yard side I cut down the tall grass near the garden house on the overgrown lawn, where a large bush of blackberries grew, which was already ripening and I naturally could not resist and decided to try, picking a few pieces.
After that, I mowed the lawn with a lawn mower and collected the mown grass in green bags. Then I raked all the mown weeds into piles and also packed them in bags. I cleared the large area in front of the house of moss with a shovel and chopped down the birch bushes with an axe, then I cleared the sidewalk in the yard with the brush attachment of the trimmer and then blew everything away with the Stihl BR 800. It was already getting on with the evening, so I had to hurry to finish before dark and I started trimming the ivy hedge and the laurel hedge.
The whole job took me a little over 6 hours and a trailer full of green waste!
And this video will have a sequel in October, as the Owner, after work, asked me to come back in the fall and clean up the yard behind the pond near the garden house, as it turns out there used to be a garden there and it's completely overgrown.
I'm afraid to imagine what kind of work I'll have to do.

I didn't know that behind the garden house was a garden with a pond, waterfall and bridge that was completely overgrown and the owner asked me to come back again in the fall to clear it.

@@kustorez777 I thought it is quite a lot of features in this garden apart from you have clean out. The way you clean the pathway of the soil n shots of weeds. Always so thorough. Yes I m biased about thinking the Germany skill is never sloppy coz I have been there often since 1986 as I have many relatives there. Watching your video makes me miss my second home. Germany. 🇩🇪🥰🫶🏻

It looks like that was once a very beautiful property. Sadly, it is now so neglected. You did a remarkable job of cleaning up the paver areas. Without a doubt, you could make this property look magnificent with your amazing landscaping skills and attention to details. The owner is probably very grateful and needs to have you complete the job this fall. I thoroughly enjoy watching you transform properties.

I love your channel, and I really appreciate that you collect and dispose of your green waste. Many of the America-based YT lawn care channels just drag the green waste out of frame and dump it behind the house 😆.
Yes, you'd think the (highly) monetized channels could bring it to the dump or green waste facility, instead of throwing it back on the lawn or out of sight. I only know Midlife Stockman and Fill's Lawncare to properly dispose of it.
Also Quick Cuts V2, Mr Cris, Tim the Lawnmower Man remove the waste. I think they have to pay when they drop it off which could get expensive if they're doing the work for free and don't have the viewers to offset the cost. They're all worth watching.

@@tenstreet-007 They use buy-me-a-coffee, Patron, etc. ro offset the expense. Clicks on the videos and number of subscribers also help them. In Western, Massachusetts, in my town, it used to cost $50 a year for 65 & older to bring your trash to the dump (Tip/Transfer Station) and this month it went up to $65 a year. It's only open on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Under 65 went up to $80 a year plus extra fees not covered on certain items. like appliances, tires, computers and monitors, etc. You'd be surprised how many in town pay over $40-50 a month for trash pickup from an independent trash pickup company, when it's cheaper to bring your own trash to the town dump.

So heartwarming to see so many people walking and riding bikes there. So sad people here have to drive their tanks (large vans and cars) to get to 1 block away. And you use a lot of battery powered tools and manual labor. You truly are Santa Claus! Looking forward to seeing the backyard being done.

But that was unnecessary to bring that up and then putting people down for what they drive and judging people you don’t know. People do ride their bikes and go for walks in a safer area than around a busy city. Who wants to risk themselves or take their kids for a bike ride in a busy street? You must not get out much because I always see people on their bikes with their kids or just someone going on a nice long bike ride around their neighborhood. I see a lot of people walking around, around the city and in neighborhoods and my neighborhood. When I go to the park to relax, a lot of people are out and about and talking to each other. Do you think because you saw people in his video, no one has a car to drive anywhere around that neighborhood in this video? Lol.. all around Germany actually has one of the worst traffic congestion in Europe. Most families have to have SUV ( Not many people buy vans anymore, maybe in the 1970s lol)..because it’s safer for their kids, but too bad you didn’t consider their safety. But they’re not tanks! 😂😂.. BTW, people in Germany do drive big SUV’s and big luxury cars and Jeeps! Lol

I visited my grandmother in Germany several times in the 70's and 80's and I don't recall ever seeing a property in this condition. And I think you're right--this was probably more of neighbors complaining rather than a city thing. I always felt, and still believe by looking at the neighbor's yards in this video, that there is a "German standard" on maintaining one's property. This guy apparently did not attend the Standard 101 Class on that subject, and if he did, he flunked. If you do go back in the fall for the other project, I hope he's kept up all the work you've done. Great job as always.
If the man is elderly and I mean 70"s (like me) and older, it's not easy for him to keep up but.... would be nice if the neighbors helped him once in a while. Just cutting the grass and hauling trash would be a big help. Easy to condemn when no one knows his story. 🤔🙄😊

I think this was one of your best renovations ever! It’s hard to believe he planned to wait until fall to have someone do the yard and just wanted you to do the ivy😮. Hope that whipping tool of yours keeps those knee high weeds from coming back on the bricks. That and getting rid of all the dirt on top of the brick & tile. If you come back in fall plan on another full day’s work! 😅 That was beautiful work!!!
