one person reversed years of neglect in just one day. it's amazing what people can do when they care. thank you for caring.
Super ✌️✊️👋
Thank you for transforming the sidewalk jungle!
Boy ! Sean you have worked me almost to death on this one! I have helped you push and pull that root ! But it looks wonderfully perfect! I’m a subscriber from Alabama saying thanks for always going beyond what is really necessary.
A stick in time saves nine 😂❤
For this city to ignore a problem this bad is pitiful. How many snakes lurk in there waiting for someone to bite.
Everyone, please take a minute to like 👍 subscribe and leave a little comment. Doing this helps Sean to maintain or replace some of the equipment he uses because it helps with the TH-cam algorithm to enable these videos to be seen by more people. We all know Sean does a fantastic job with every project he sets himself. Thanks to anyone taking the time to read this ❤
Thanks so much!! You’re right. I appreciate all the love and support.
Thanks for the encouragement. I always hit the like as I start watching! A comment also.
Done & done!
That was an amazing transformation
Absolutely...done!😊
The city neglects the sidewalk but they don't hesitate to issue violations to homeowners who neglect their property.
In most cities, the sidewalk is the owners responsibility - whomever owns this lot should have done this - or paid for it to be done. Though it might be different in his city. 🤷🏼♂️
@@jimtalbott9535huh…amusing. In Jakarta, anything past the fence (including the sidewalk) is govt or complex property, so sidewalks are not your responsibility at all. In fact, there are cases where the govvy just reworks it in their own (not necessarily better) way (like replacing a 45 degree entry ramp with a 90 degree entry ramp because they can’t be fucked to keep the old entry ramp in the name of cost cuts for more baksheesh)
Indeed, in Europe also the side walks and curbs are responsibility of the city
@@jimtalbott9535I’m in WA state, and that’s how it is here. Property owners are responsible for clear sidewalks - from overgrowth, trash, snow, etc.
@@lynn2574 same in Pennsylvania
Sir, that city owes you a BIG CHECK!!!
Much love to everyone who stopped by to show their support. That’s what we need more of in all our communities! ❤
Yes it was fun to see all the folks from the neighborhood stop and say hi, thank you, and the gal that hugged him was so nice.
I love how people are stopping by to say hello and thank you! Your work matters
When cities will penalize homeowners but will not clean a mere sidewalk. Shame on them.
In my town, the resident is required to keep the sidewalk in front of their property clear, not necessarily edged but passable.
Amen.
@@Kitty_mama9 That only works if you are mentally and / or physically capable of doing the work. Why does it take a stranger to help? Why can't neighbors take pride in their block and pitch in?
@@Kitty_mama9well that's ridiculous on the other hand they'll tell you the city has an easement and the sidewalk is definitely within the city's easement is the cities responsibility to keep public sidewalks cleared
He should send the city a bill for the cleanup work he did
@@miketully9592 Every state and even town is different. This is the Detroit area. They probably don't want to clean up certain areas.
The fact you had so many people stop and thank you shows how important this sidewalk was to the community.
Honestly, I had tears in my eyes when you got that hug and such appreciation from the woman. She was spot-on in her praise and appreciation, shared by the residents, and those of us watching. Keep up the good work, Sean, you are an amazing person.!
She never came back! Hmm🤔
She really went in for the hug!

The sitting counsel members should be embarrassed by the conditions of these sidewalks. And if a child is hit by a car from walking in the street because of the overgrown sidewalk, who's at fault? Great job Sean...
A man and a shovel...and a lawnmower....and a weed eater....and a hedge trimmer.......you are awesome, Sean. Thank you for all you do.

That lady was so sweet to give you that hug!! She’s watching your videos just like me!! What nice appreciative people. You made it beautiful. Thank you.
I live in the UK. There has been a recent story - the council have neglected to upkeep the public areas just like this. Locals got together to clean up their city. The council threatened to sue them because they said it was vandalism. The group leader was taking the rubbish home and adding it to her household rubbish. She was told she couldn't dispose of other people's rubbish without a licence and that she would be arrested if she continued to do so.
You, and everyone like you, make such a huge difference. You do exactly what should be done by councils.
Your council needs some revision. Hopefully, y'all can vote them out and get reasonable folks to represent you. God bless, and have a great day!
"You got a license for that rubbish?" That's wild.
That is what a total mess society has become. Its quite pathetic
That's what government wants. They don't want us caring for our own community because when that happens, we realize just how much control they have over us and then we realize we don't need government in every aspect of our lives. We become a threat to their existence.
That’s crazy 😮
It was so nice to see the neighbors stop to say thank you. You truly deserve it 🎉
Hi Sean, you are one of the most tenacious and meticulous lawn man on UTube. When that sweet lady hugged you not only are you a true gentleman but quite loveable. Take care and thank you for your outstanding videos.
You are very inspiring. My boys love your channel and Saturday, without being asked, mowed our neighbors yard. Whoa! U have no idea how that makes my heart grow.
Oh !! That’s so PRECIOUS !! They are wonderful ! Blessings from California !! 🌞
This is just amazing!!! This is what it’s all about!!! Thank you for sharing.
Ok.....crying even harder!! How sweet of your boys!
It's great seeing the neighbors taking a minute to thank you and show their appreciation. The girl that wanted a hug was so sweet. She put a big smile on my face when she couldn't get out enough good words about you. !!!!! She is the perfect example of how the world should be!
This was not just for beauty, but a safety hazard for kids. Great job!
Kids, the elderly, everyone benefits from his labors ❤
Especially mom’s pushing strollers or people with walkers or wheelchairs ! What is wrong with the city ???
Amazing transformation Sean! So many people stopped by to say Thank You for cleaning that all up, you know they appreciated you beyond measure for doing that! Bless You!!❤️
The APPRECIATION that whole Neighborhood felt was AWESOME as was your work in making this Transformation.
All the people thinking it is such a good thing you’re doing ,but nobody wants to physically help clean it . God bless your efforts in all that you do.
They not getting paid. This guy is getting paid more than a normal job would pay by all of us watching his videos🙂
I noticed that most of the neighbors don't edge their sidewalks. Maybe they see this and start edging. It doesn't look finished without edging sidewalks, driveways, etc..... Maybe they don't even know what an edger is.
Must've been a long dog groom 😂
@medicbabe2ID it does take a while to get your dog groomed because there's certain things that depend on it what breed the dog is and if the dog is feeling Cooperative that day to let the groomer do their work on them. Certain breeds have a lot of undercoat and I know that my mom's dog doesn't like the groomer doing her face and her legs.
@@DailyBrainIQ the city workers get paid and they don't do their job and if they do it's minimal effort, they also get benefits like guaranteed health insurance and pensions. Even then, you shouldn't have to get paid to help clean up YOUR own neighborhood that's just something good people do for free.
That area had to be ignored for a long time for that vegetation to get that big and thick. So glad you saw it and did something about it. Not only does it add to the beauty of the area and become usable it might inspire more good endeavors. Thank you! As they say, you are a blessing!
People see you as a man with a Godly heart!
How did you even know there was a sidewalk there!?! Yikes!! That neighborhood needs to thank their lucky stars you showed up!! Fabulous job as always. 😇😎🤗💖
I CANT IMAGINE WHAT THE YD LOOKS LIKE, THIS GUY IS A GOAT
It amazes me that the city passes out fines for your citizen's yards being over grown yet they don' t take care of the city's property - such as this side walk. I have lived in several parts of Europe and Canada and have never seen or even heard of a side walk that looks like this. The city should be ashamed. You are a true city hero for taking care of this for them.
Awesome job 👏
Your awesome for doing this jungle clean up! I've never seen any neighborhood side walk such a mess, not anywhere!!
You would think a representative of that district (or any district of any city) would drive their neighborhoods and at minimum have the city run out a crew and take a couple of hours to clean something like this up.
I have seen UK videos where the councils don't take care of their properties either.😢
This is the property owners responsibility in every place Ive lived in several states. They really should have sent citations and then the city cleaned this up and put the bill on the property owners taxes or a lien. But this is not something the city would maintain in most US cities
That wasn't overgrowth - that was a JUNGLE!!!
Keep up the great work, you're an inspiration
😃
It looked like someone played Jumanji there lol
I honestly expected to hear peacocks calling out, and monkeys leaping from branch to branch.

They encourage him. But don’t do it themselves. Hmmm
@@MaryBurnett-u9iThat's not exactly fair: the average person doesn't have the skills or equipment to tackle a project like this.
Maybe someone could lead a grassroots effort through their neighborhood association to tackle problems like this before they reach hazardous conditions like this. Also, helping out the elderly who want to stay in their homes but are challenged to keep up with neighborhood codes.
Nice job. I always appreciate these clean ups.
@@nancychiavetta1351 I think that a lot of the time, people don't realize how bad it's getting, how far behind the maintenance is falling, until the problem's too big for someone who lacks the skills or equipment to handle. Once someone like this gem of a man comes in and cleans it up, I hope that the neighborhood can step up and prevent it from ever getting so bad again!
@@redwitch12Thanks! I think we both just said the same thing!
@@MaryBurnett-u9i Nor offer to help. Even just help drag branches and debris away.
One of the best things about the work you do is taking care of so much trash. The gardening is great (!!) But the removing of trash affects so much more in the long run. Thank you for that!
Thank you! Another awesome clean-up. I can understand Mother Nature trying to reclaim the city but what I find disturbing is the humans dumping their garbage on a vacant property. They have no respect for their neighbors. Thank you again and thanks to all who stopped by to show their appreciation and support.❤❤♻️🌳
True. I started cleaning a small 3 block area next to my neighborhood last Fall. It was full of lots of trash and broken glass. It took me a long time to get it really looking good and now I go over there a couple of times a week to make sure it doesn't go back to the horrible state it was in. I even bought the block a 32 gallon rubber garbage can with a lid and bags to change out the full can periodically. I'm proud of how it looks now and a few neighbors have thanked me for my hard work. There r some who do keep their property nice, but there r a lot of large apartment buildings on these blocks with very little on-site maintenance or janitors to keep it clean. So many people don't take ownership and don't even seem to notice or care. I find that disheartening.
Why would they? I’m sure every bottle was alcohol and if you’re drinking that while walking, it’s doubtful you’re a taxpaying citizen of the community. The city showed them how to treat the property, they don’t deserve the blame, the city does.
Love God! Love your neighbors! Wonderful cleanups you do! God bless you and all the work you do!
That looks phenomenal! Not only did you open the sidewalk back up for the people in that neighborhood, you took away a spot of blight that makes the whole neighborhood look unsafe. Overgrown sidewalks, unkempt properties just invite trouble. Study's have shown that crime doesn't like it when it doesn't have places to hide. Clean well kept areas tend to have less crime overall. So you literally helped make the neighborhood safer. It's not my neighborhood, but I thank you all the same.
That lady in the orange dress. I want to give YOU a hug. That was a beautiful and sincere reaction. You're lovely. 🧡
Thank you, Midlife Stockman. Now kids and everyone can walk safely on the sidewalk again, instead the middle of the street. You can see how many people are happy with the work you do. God bless you, Sean!

Enjoy your videos.
My husband passed in 2022 at 72 yrs old and he was so much like you when he was younger. For 45 years I watched him tackle properties, roots, vines, thorns, fences and numerous stingy things! 🙂
I don’t understand why your city doesn’t do this work. If not for you, it probably wouldn’t ever be done. I hope the appreciative neighbors keep an eye on things and keep the sidewalk clean for themselves. You work so very hard and I love watching your videos.
Many towns and cities in Michigan are financially broken and unable to support the infrastructure. Communities could start Adopt a Road campaigns for the residents to volunteer to maintain. It works in Florida.
It was nice the folks living there stop by and tell you how much they appreciate your work.
"After a long day I can say WE did it." Thank you for acknowledging our contribution....watching. 😉 I was thinking dynamite was going to be the only way you were going to uproot that stump. Good job, glad the neighbors appreciate your efforts. Everyone should subscribe as small way to improve our world.
Perhaps this example of determination will inspire the locals to band together & clean up other blighted sites around the neighborhood & create a stronger sense of community. Nothing like talent, tools, & hard work.
You were correct. That was one of the worst but you did a great job. I know the neighborhood appreciates what you have done. Thank you for helping. God Bless you 😇❤❤❤❤❤
I think it's wonderful that you cleaned the sidewalk. Let's just hope that someone will care enough to help maintain it. Otherwise all your hard work will have been for nothing. It looks great!

The city should be ashamed of themselves for letting the sidewalk get that way. Great job Sean. You are such a blessing to your community. Much love and blessings to you! 😊
This city remind me Baltimore . " I would like to know where the 1 billion dollars Obama gave to the city between 2008 and 2016 went ? On the ground , I see no improvement ." When we have a leftist mayor , a leftist police head , and leftist top judges ,we know the city is going down . Look at Montreal , now that the mayor , a Soros chouchou is in.
The city is too busy sending out Code Enforcement Officers… as if we live in a communist country.. code enforcement out all over the country. Codes are NOT laws, tell them to get off your property they are trespassing.
Cities don't care! Tgey own tge area from the end of the grass to tge middle of the road. But home owners are responsible for taking care of it.
They simply just keep fi ing the person until they can take the property.
What is worse if neighbors who complain but won't help.tgey are directly affected by it being overgrown.
After he clears it they should keep.it up.

Great Job, it's for sure that sidewalk has been ignored for many years. Its also GREAT that so many people stopped by to express their thanks. What I couldn't help thinking was that wasn't there a govt dept in the town that was supposed to taking care of that. If so one may wonder if one or more workers that was being paid by taxpayers for doing that were sitting around in an air conditioned office while you were doing the job they should have done weeks, months, and even years ago. Your the good guy. Keep on keeping on and thanks for letting us tag along.
Everyone talking about how lazy the city is for neglecting the sidewalk, but let me draw your attention to that *drain*. That's what really gets me. That drain was unrecognizable and that is stupid. Thank you for giving your time to make such an awesome change in the community

Litter attracts litter. Once people see a single piece of litter on a property, it becomes "the place where we toss our litter."
100% true, in this instance people were just throwing their bottles in the woods. As for paper trash, I've noticed that since towns/cities have gone to automated trash pickup there's more paper that doesn't make it into the truck and it gets picked up by people or the wind moves it to empty lots/homes and accumulates there.
