Some things I'd add to the preferences are:
    1. General→Settings →Default Pass Through Composite. Which basically takes into account Z-Depth between layers that go into this type of composite and also is like connecting every node above into every node below independently. While the current default is a Bitmap Composite which basically combines stuff into a flattened layer and then applies whatever comes next
    2. Advanced→Advanced Display. Which allows you to add multiple display nodes and access them in different viewports. To me this helps a lot when adding deformers since I can isolate a certain drawing that could be either masked or hard to see the original shape.
    3. Advanced→Element Node"Animate Using Animation Tools"Default value (disabling this one) . I think you did this manually for your drawings on a previous episode if I remember correctly, but it basically makes it so that drawings won't get auto keyed/keyed, only pegs.
Optionally, Flat toolbar is pretty cool, which basically allows you to customize the toolbar on the left (eraser, select tool, brush, all those things,) so they're not grouped together and you can select which tools to display. If you were to try this, you´ll have to reset harmony and later right click on the toolbar and hit customize at the bottom to select which tools and in which order you want to have on the toolbar

@@ermine.studios Hell yeah awesome tips!!! I had no idea about the Default Pass through composite setting that’ll definitely save me the annoyance of having to change composite settings every time I add a new one
      Tysm!! ^^

This is amazing!! I’ve never understood rigging and I admire it. I’m sticking to normal animation for now XD..

It’s definitely a type of animation that takes awhile to get used to 😂 I still have trouble wrapping my head around certain things sometimes

Hi, I just wanted to thank you becouse I have searched far and wide for a puppet animation tutorial and it will help me greatly.
I am creating a way to have something like puppet rigs in a 3d world in a videogame I am developing and this concepts will help me to develop that. (I am a programer so its new territory jajaja).

About the cutter stacking. There's a rigger named Oli Putland that lives trying to avoid using cutters as much as possible saying they're somewhat resource heavy. I haven't faced much issue with cutters, but I still try not to overuse them. I thing it's better to add stuff into a composite and that to go into the left (mask symbol) of the cutter. Same result, but less cutters used :)

@@ermine.studios ohhh wait that’s super smart actually, Ill try and mess around with that idea and see if I can get it to work with how the fur patterns are stacked, that’ll be awesome if it works, streamline some of the node view spaghetti lol

@@anchornaut That's great! I could give some more tips if you want. Some are more like shortcuts and stuff. It's kinda tiring to do it in text but if you're interested I can give it a go. Or I could send you an unlisted video as well. I also plan to repurpose this channel into an animation studio eventually, and I´d plan to make tutorials/share the process of a web show I want to start, but that will take longer lul
