    The attention to detail of your door and window openings is superb, bordering on bespoke. Here in the states masons typically throw down a rusty piece of angle iron and slap bricks on top. It works well enough at first, but not long term. Your work is amazing.

    I think the technique of pre-buttering the perp ahead (when running the line) must be a North country thing as I've never seen anybody do that down here in over 40 years on the tools? Seems to work well though so on you go...Nice to see the 'squeeze' with the 'arris to arris, arris to line' not all that infernal unnecessary time-wasting tapping which drives me nuts!!

    Mint brickwork .. I always use the profile for soldier courses .. gauge the profile up and you can see if you need to open or tighten up to make it work. Also, a tip for you maybe you already know but do away with the top line and set your profile along the top edge of the course and you can use this as your line to get down to and straight edge to follow :).
    My bum twitched at that lintel not being propped too 😬🤣

  • @ryc650
    @ryc650 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Instead of the top line why don’t you have the profile higher up level with the brick work effectively acting like
    The line, and have one line on the bottom to make sure the bottoms in line ?

      He doesn't have to pay any attention to it if he doesn't want to, just wanted to illustrate there was a demand if, the format he is already choosing to explore, without my promoting/request, he chooses to make more of.
      Maybe he is making them as he has some autistic students learning, or maybe it's an exploration of doing those ASM (or something like that) ones, or maybe it's just for kicks but I like it and am not going to stop saying so just because you think I shouldn't.

Your jointing has to be as good as your laying. Maybe a twig in the line as well. You gotta pull that line like you live ,,, hard. Finished product looks good man.
