Yes, they are so silly like that couple in remake. Silly and full of complex. They really ask why Americans do remakes, what's the reason for it, et cetera. So stupid question.
Great to see Scoot McNairy. An overlooked actor who is extremely talented and gives the best “everyday type man” performances. So easy to watch him work, really grounded actor.
A great pleasure to see him reunited with McKenzie Davis again after their work together on Halt and Catch Fire.
I watched the original and I feel like this trailer gives away soo much.
Soooo much it's criminal.
@@diamonddoggspuppy7755 they just wanted audience to enjoy this one as a remake scary movie during sunday at home to get some jump scares ig
This exact movie with the exact title came out in 2022. Why did they remake this ALREADY?!?!?!!
The Guilty with Jake Gylenhaal released 3 years after the original. Although the og is miles better, Gylenhaal killed it and it was pretty intense. Hope the same happens here
Well the original was a Danish film. This remake is an American Hollywood version. Cuz… idk… just cuz they can?
Same question people are asking about Leonardo DiCaprio's upcoming take on Another Round 😂
Because the original was disturbingly tragic and pointless
Because.... we let them!
James McAvoy's portrayal was absolutely brilliant in "Split" of Kevin Wendell Crumb, and Barry, Dennis, Hedwig, Mary Reynolds, and Jade, not to mention The Beast, Patricia and Kevin's 14 personalities...
M. Night Shyamalan...said it all...
James McAvoy playing the antagonist is going to be wild!
Did you watch Split?
@@Thepossessedmimic I did. He did amazing. I meant wild in the context of playing the absolute monster that is Patrick/Paddy.
@@Nymyzys yes I am very excited to see this the original was great
Best cast choice yet
Thanks for showing the whole movie
Bust out laughing at 1:29. James McAvoy's laugh and expressions are comical. He's like a little kid that just got away with something and the parents haven't realized yet X'D
Thank god I watched the movie without looking at the trailer first. This gives literally the WHOLE movie away.
Is the ending different from the original??? Or the whole movie is exactly copy of the original??
@@donotdisturb6319 only the ending is different. The rest is almost a scene-by-scene reproduction of the original.
One thing about James, he's always going to deliver!
I'm still undecided if I should be happy that such a brilliant movie will reach a larger audience or sad that a brilliant movie that was already acted in English is being remade only two years after its release for no good reason at all.
A little of both.
ah yeah I even forgot the original is English about 80% of the time. such a good film, even for an international audience, and such an unnecessary remake.
I agree. My goodness. It was amazing and I doubt this will live up to it. You can tell from the trailer
@@Belly154 Yeah, the trailer looks like a parody of the original.
@@lucassouzaferreira ending looks different and that's what was so awesome about the original. The shocking ending to subtle lead up.
I will root for any character James McAvoy plays simply because James McAvoy is playing him 😤😤😤. They can NEVER make me hate you James!!! NEVER!!!
If its anything like the original, they will make you hate the good couple.
I'm just now hearing about this remake. The original Speak No Evil (2022) is one of my favorite horror movies of all time. The fact James McAvoy (one of my favorite actors) is starring in the remake and it's being directed by the same director as Eden Lake (another one of my favorite horror movies, also starring Michael Fassbender funnily enough) has me really excited for this. Even if it's a shot for shot remake it'll still be a great movie, especially with James McAvoy in it. Can't wait.
Yes you can.
favourite?? it's very average
You know it's gonna be a great movie when James McAvoy is in it.
Ever since Split, James McAvoy has been one of my favorite actors
Same
The original was so disturbing but I’m excited for a remake, especially James McAvoy he would be perfect thinking about it..can’t wait to see!
This is better than the original I thought it was the same concept to the original , but it's surprise me WORTH TO WATCH.
Did they spoiled the entire movie in the trailer?!
BLUM HOUSE ALWAYS DOES, JUST SAVED ME TIME & MONEY
DID they SPOIL; or say HAD they spoilED, but I think this is a remake of a film and if so I know how this might end. Foundflix already reviewed a film with a similar premise.
No they didn’t, but I’ll happily spoil it for you if you want
@@elitestarI want to know what happens
@@elitestarwas this a good horror movie or no
James McAvoy's willingness to be in schlock horrors is super admirable.
Well, the original was not a shlocky horror. I imagine he got into this with the hope that it might be as thoughtful as that one was... but it doesn't appear to be so.
I love the original one. But I don't know why they would show that the kid has no tongue in this trailer. That was supposed to be a shocker.
Blumhouse gonna Blumhouse.
@@paulwillard81 😂
EXACTLY! WHAT MUPPETS! Copy someone elses movie and show everything in the trailer... HOW DO THESE PPL STAY IN BUSINESS?!!?!?!
I saw the original movie's trailer and they literally mention in the trailer that the kid has no tongue. Why are you guys mad about nothing?
@@Main_Khamakha it’s HOW the kid came to have no tongue that’s the biggest issue and spoiler here. So kindly, you don’t really know what you’re talking about mate
Finally, something I've been waiting for. Some old skool vibes & country. Great film!
I was going to hold my tongue about this remake, but with a September release date, this is just a stone's throw away.
NOT THE STONE THROW
I see what you did there...
lol nice
😂😂😂😂😂
Hehe
James McAvoy does an amazing job on any movie. His recent horror besides this movie was Split. That was a masterpiece.
yeah split was just so good!!! MADE ME HIS FAN!
Yeah, it doesn't take a behavioral therapist to know that kid's tongue got chopped off 😂
If you've seen the original, you know the trailer spoiled the whole damn movie though.
but his vocal cords should still work right?
I loved this movie. It was so good. The entire ending was amazing. James McAvoy’s acting is incredible
This looks promising. I hope it’s an improvement of the original Danish film of the same name. That film was outstanding but very frustrating at times, especially the ending. The Danish couple was way too polite & compliant & didn’t fight for their daughter. Plus, I found it hard to believe they’d go back for a stuffed animal if they were that scared. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it.
That was the whole point of the movie
@@jakiethompson8663 Right. But it wasn’t believable the way it played out in the end. The submissiveness was so overdramatized.
To you, maybe, but that's not the case for all 8 billion odd people out in the world. Think beyond yourself
@@jakiethompson8663 He just expressed his opinion like you, what's the problem? It's not our fault that Western Europeans are so silly.
I literally just saw the original and Blumhouse has already snatched it up. The casting is great though, I am looking forward to it.
WHY …. Make a remake? WATCH… the original- a gem.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
@THEINVISIBLEWARRIORR defending them remaking a movie that came out only 2 years ago is crazy lol have some standards for yourself fatty
James McAvoy is a treasure! Blady good actor! Marvellous Artist he is
Halt and Catch Fire reunion I did not see coming 😅 couldn't think of anything elese because I've just finished rewatch ❤
James McAvoy will be so psychotic in Speak No Evil!
Why are we remaking a movie that came out 2 years ago?
the original was a shudder exclusive. so i guess there were some contractual disputes or something, so they rather buy the license to remake and universal will have full control of their version
nothing new for the market
Americans don't like subtitles. Reading be hard.
@@TheAbabab77 Most of it is English!
Because Hollywood is too afraid to take risks and is full of suits who think/know that a huge portion of movie goers are dumb and will do and see any old shit because they like the actors who are in it.
James McAvoy scares me, his acting is phenomenal!
I think his pivot to horror was such a smart news (I can never look at him the same now but whatever lol)
@@ellaelliott4415 Yeah, I'm proud. He can play anyone from a horrendous creature, to a gentleman with a dark side and so many others. He's fucking incredible!
James McAvoy. one of the best actors ever 😭✨
Idk why they needed to make another one for Americans, the original was fine.
Yeah it’s dumb. As an American - I prefer things made elsewhere. If they ever make an “American” Midsommer…I’m out. I’m leaving the country. That film still freaks me out.
especially since the original is like 80% english. there's not even that many subtitles to read.
@@randomsandra4039Midsommar is an American production, written and directed by an American man, starring mostly American and British actors
@@melvinjoseph952 BAHAHAHAHA - I'm so dumb. I always thought it was a foreign film - thinking wow they practically discovered Florence Pugh. Oh Lords, I will never live it down. Jeez
"Written for the screen and directed by James Watkins, the writer-director of Eden Lake" Okayyyyyyy okayyyy I will be seated
I was thrilled when I heard that, but it doesn't look like he was given the green light to stick to that devastating ending.
Eden Lake is such a grim film, I hope this follows the same steps
just watch the original if you liked Eden Lake, they share a lot of similarities. it literally came out two years ago and has excellent production, acting, writing and directing. there's literally nothing the remake could improve upon.
@@rmikeyd59American horror fans (hell, most normal people) are not going to pay theater prices to watch that ending.
Pls watch the original, I doubt this one will be as good

That I'm not a Doctor scene! Was just pure evil haha
Anything James McAvoy acting in I watching fuss I love to see him act. Will definitely be watching this ❤
Nicely filmed. Decent acting. Terrible writing and filled with plot holes.
It's not the worst movie I've seen this year... ::cough:: _"Tarot"_ ::cough:: // Although 99% of bad movies compared to Tarot will suddenly look great 😭
I’m here for this, I don’t always like remakes, but McAvoy never disappoints.
I went to the cinema to watch it tonight and it was absolutely brilliant. James McAvoy deserves an Oscar for his performance. It's as good, if not better than the original.
It was awesome hey
Masterclass in how not to make a trailer. Gave EVERYTHING away.
James McAvoy looking more and more like gerard butler lol
Absolutely loved this film! First hour was great british humour with some good laughs and such a good setup for the second hour which turns it into a brilliant edgy thriller. Can't rate this high enough.
I agree...it was definitely good. A lot better than I thought it was gonna be.
Omg I love the original movie. Definitely gonna watch this. Especially it's James Mcavoy
Omg I hate the original movie. aND THE DUMB DANISH COUPLE MAKING SO MANMY DUMB UNREALISTIC DECISIONS.,
Awful remake!
Wow they remade it? The way this trailer tells you everything is wild. James McAvoy is a stellar actor though
Turned it off after I saw the Blumhouse logo
And came here to comment😂
this was one of the best made in a long while. I laughed, I cried and had a panic attack. very well made.
yeah thanks for showing the whole movie in the trailer again
Haven't we seen this already? Also spoiling everything in the trailer is a smart move. Congrats!
