Longlegs is definitely a crime thriller more than it is straight up horror but that said, there are sequences in the movie that are bone chilling and terrifying. And the very opening scene has a cut to the title cars that is one of the scariest I’ve ever seen. The atmosphere is dreadful and thick throughout. Definitely the best serial killer/horror mashup I’ve ever seen.
this movie was phenomenal. the cinematography was amazing along with the sound design. nicolas cage did amazing playing a sadistic serial killer and maika monroe continues to prove why she is a modern day scream queen. the opening scene really set the tone for this movie

I saw this movie last week. I can't stop thinking about it. I don't get scared by movies anymore, but this gave me a sense of dread and tension that I rarely get to enjoy. This... this is now in my top 10 movie list.

I just watched this movie in the theater. It was brilliant. Absolutely amazing cinematography and it was TERRIFYING from the very first scene all the way to the last. There was this feeling of dread the whole entire time and I was filled with anxiety. The scene where longlegs is screaming in the car was so scary to me that I wanted to cry. A horror movie has NEVER and I mean NEVER done that to me before.
Sweet. The transitions go crazy. Love the different lens used and the use of 4 by 4 and widescreen too. Very chilling music too and the atmosphere really sells it. Love the different camera angles and the color of black and yellow being used here
This probably the first trailer I’ve ever seen that put fear in me. Fingers crossed it lives up to the trailer
It's been a long time since a horror trailer has made me emotional. Not due to the subject matter, but how well it's executed. I am so indescribably excited to see this, horror is overtaking all other genres imo.
If you watch this with a pair of good headphones, in the very beginning you can actually distinguish that Nic Cage's character is wheezing the word "cookoo". And it's bone chilling
Now this is an amazing horror movie trailer Gives zero plot away but shows enough clips and awesome sounds, voice over to make the audience beg for more
This freeze frame brings you to Osgood Perkins as Director… What does that have to do with “Say your Prayers”?!? Maybe your 2:17 is different than mine!

when it ended my theatre erupted with so many people whispering different variations of “what the FUCK did I just watch” to themselves, but regardless of that i can still understand why some might not have enjoyed it lol, it was a very experimental film. i’d still recommend it to anyone who’s at least a little curious about it tho
@@drizzuI i get what you mean, i have been an editor for 15 years and have seen hundreds if not thousands of horror films, with this one though the pacing ends up falling in the 'this does not have to be that slow' category for me
I just got back from seeing this and I am so badly hoping for a prequel showing how Longlegs came to be. He was like a more insane and sickly version of Buffalo Bill. Nic Cage was absolutely menacing as this character.
How good was it
@@gerrygizzygarcia2572 Definitely going to be my favourite modern horror movie for a long time to come I think. I don’t scare easily either.
@@DaneMarshall56377 cool ill check it out soon thanks
Best left unsaid, that's what makes him scary.
@@DaneMarshall56377I DESPISE scary things/movies and I’m going to watch this with my friends, Is it gory?
Longlegs is definitely a crime thriller more than it is straight up horror but that said, there are sequences in the movie that are bone chilling and terrifying. And the very opening scene has a cut to the title cars that is one of the scariest I’ve ever seen. The atmosphere is dreadful and thick throughout. Definitely the best serial killer/horror mashup I’ve ever seen.
It was hot garbage
@@Ktown_323 nah
you should try , the road . its a filipino movie
this movie was phenomenal. the cinematography was amazing along with the sound design. nicolas cage did amazing playing a sadistic serial killer and maika monroe continues to prove why she is a modern day scream queen. the opening scene really set the tone for this movie
Who gives a crap scout cinematography, you people say it to sound artsy.
Is it good or not, literally the only reason people scan comments on trailers is for that.

Did not notice the eyes and face at 1:29 at first and on my second watch it scared tf out of me. Amazing stuff.

It’s the doll at the end of the Dirty: Part 2 teaser, there’s a split-second view of the same shot without the veil in this trailer (right before the girl in the library).
Yea i didnt notice that til just now. This is gonna be a fucked up movie. I love how we dont know if theres a supernatural element to this. Cant wait but dreading it at the same time.
I saw the eyes right away! This definitely looks like its gonna be awesome
Just watched this movie. Nice family film with good Christian values

Whoever did the sound design on this trailer should get a raise. Holy shit, it's done so well with the dark industrial melodies throughout the Trailer. It adds a whole 'nother layer to an already awesome trailer.
What made it good? Everyone keeps saying how great the sound is but I'm not seeing anything that hasn't been done a million times before. What's the appeal?
I saw this movie last week. I can't stop thinking about it. I don't get scared by movies anymore, but this gave me a sense of dread and tension that I rarely get to enjoy. This... this is now in my top 10 movie list.
First horror trailer that’s genuinely got me excited in years.
This, Hollywood, this is how you make a trailer!
but the movie is really weak, a total garbage, only good for teenagers
Went and saw this! Was holding my breath in so many scenes! Scary moments lots of jump scares, good character depth, huge plot twist! Great movie
this my most anticipated movie this year
No shit
Mine too
When I watched “hereditary” I couldn’t sleep for 11 weeks. And I needed to be in a room with lights on all the time. I had to sit in a corner at all times so I can set the entire room and there is no space behind me. Just a wall.
Should I watch this movie?
Look at the director’s past filmography 😬… wouldn’t get your hopes up too high
@@Jake-pz7oii actually checked it tonight, I have not seen his previous works , but it seems pretty bad as per IMDb rating.
Oz Perkins could be a one hit wonder tho
@@admed9262That was a Ari Aster movie, that's what he does to you. Anyone else doesn't come close the implementing that level of fear so the answer is yes you can watch all horror films and be fine, but if you see Ari Aster has made the movie i suggest you hide.
No one comes close to his level or horror. Fact.
The sound guys did absolutely phenomenal job.
If this movie scared you please don't ever watch a real horror movie you'll never be able to handle it.
@@evilratincseriously. I find this movie so boring. It had nothing to do with horror.😢
Sweet. The transitions go crazy. Love the different lens used and the use of 4 by 4 and widescreen too.
Very chilling music too and the atmosphere really sells it. Love the different camera angles and the color of black and yellow being used here
The best part of Longlegs was when he said “IT’S LEGGIN’ TIME” and legged all over those guys
whiplash 😂😂 @Curtis006
Longly.
Knowing that Nicolas Cage lurks somewhere in the woods...so simple, yet so hellishly effective for a horror movie.
def most anticipated movie of 2024. top 5 easy. thanks neon for stay in the line
This probably the first trailer I’ve ever seen that put fear in me. I think it was because the first time I watched was unintentional and I wasn’t prepared; it came up as an ad while I was watching another video and after about ten seconds I had to finish it. Fingers crossed it lives up to the trailer
This is a good trailer. No spoilers with suspense & visually looks good. Will be watching
Been a while since I felt so tense watching just a trailer... definitely going to watch this. The sound design was
It's been a long time since a horror trailer has made me emotional. Not due to the subject matter, but how well it's executed. I am so indescribably excited to see this, horror is overtaking all other genres imo.
Imagine if the plot twist was they'd cast DeVito as the antagonist.
If you watch this with a pair of good headphones, in the very beginning you can actually distinguish that Nic Cage's character is wheezing the word "cookoo". And it's bone chilling
That actually makes those noises make more sense.
Now this is an amazing horror movie trailer
Gives zero plot away but shows enough clips and awesome sounds, voice over to make the audience beg for more
The trailer was scarier than the movie.
One of the best trailers i've seen in a long while. So ready for this.

Blackcoat Daughter is still his best film to date. And this being called a "modern day Silence of the Lambs" is an insult to that masterpiece of a film
This is the most intense trailers I have ever came across.
Not only does it deliver fear, but it perfectly describes every bit of it in one video.
Good job.
but the movie is garbage
This may be one of the best trailers I've e ever seen. The sounds, the lack of un-needed music. The darkenss. So damn good.
Just watched the film, apart from the ending this movie is magnificent! But Nic Cage, my man! He's the most terrifying serial killer ever in movie history! Scarier than Hannibal Lecter, Buffallo Bill even Mason Verger!
I'm getting "The Silence of the Lambs" vibes!
Thats what people who saw the film early said. Its silence of the Lambs with a twist.
And a little Se7en and True Detective S1 thrown in 😮
Totally agree
Yess, it also reminded me of the Poughkeepsie Tapes
Looks more like se7en.
This is one of my most anticipated movies in several years. Oz Perkin is a goated horror director and the casting on the leads in this couldn't be more perfect.

The "monster is never truly shown(as it shouldn't), they don't give away the plot nor the scares in general.
I actually enjoyed watching the trailer more than the movie itself!
I love the ambiguity of the trailer!!!! Looks like a horror story that's brand new, no spoilers in the trailer, doesn't give away who Longlegs really is. I can't wait to see this.
I do want to say this again, but this is the best way of making trailers for a horror movie. This trailer is terrifying with the sound design like kudos to the sound designer. This trailer is not giving anything away and is very intriguing and creepy. Also they’re not showing Nicolas Cage’s full face again in this trailer and from other trailers so he has to be looking insane and unsettling when we see him in theatres.
