Watched the movie over the weekend. All I can say is the acting is absolutely incredible. James nailed the character completely. Charming, funny, intense and fiercely intimidating all at the same time. Such an amazing movie!
I'm so happy the audience gave him the cheers he so rightfully deserved, and he always stays so humble anywhere he goes I love this man!! I know he will be even more successful in the future
I love what he says about being unsettling and walking the tightrope. I don't watch horror movies, but I've been so captivated with his face in the trailers. His expressions are so unsettling but also so curious, and I think I'm going to end up seeing this movie. I was just going to try to see a synopsis, until I watched this video.
I'm so intrigued by this characterization, but I can't go down a rabbit hole figuring it out. (sleep is calling hard and I want to watch the 2nd part of the interview!) please, is it a specific movie reference or was Mitchum horrible to Peck IRL? thank you in advance
7:43 "I don't want to give anything away" Oh don't worry, the trailer already did that (if you've seen the original film you'll definitely know what I mean)
Excited to see this, I’m danish so I’ve seen the og a couple times even saw it in the theater, but I’m really excited to see one of my all time favourite actors James McAvoy, portray the character of Patrick!
He's fantastic. He plays these psychotic and evil characters so perfectly! I watched Speak No Evil yesterday, and I really liked the story. But what really stood out was James McAvoy! I don't want to spoil anything, but his personality shift throughout the film was brillant! It's so fascinating that such a sweet, funny, and charismatic man is able to immerse himself in such sinister characters. As a child, I had a crush on him as Mr. Tumnus. As a teen, I had a crush on him in X-Men. Now, at 25, I have a crush on him in every horror film. 2:23 German efficiency! So true! (I'm from Germany)😂
James has quickly become one of my favorite actors. He only gets better and better with each role. He was robbed of an Oscar for his performance in Split. And to be honest, he was robbed for Speak No Evil. Truly intense, creepy performance.
For those wondering, the play he mentions appears to be "The Reel of the Hanged Man," en français "Un « reel » ben beau, ben triste," which is a Québecois play set in Abitibi-Temiscamingue, which is kind of the middle of nowhere in Québec. I expect it was a bit of a departure from what the audience was used to.
@@winonalovers yeah..for normal folks, but in Berlin, and Berghain (club), the party starts Friday night and goes until Sunday morning for some. Which I why on Mondays, like I said... most businesses do not open at 8 or 9am like normal. They open at noon because people are still recovering from the weekend.
I don't know if I want to see it either for the simple reason of it made me mad too but also physically sick. I was literally screaming and crying during watching the original (I don't do that with any horror movie), it brought out such immense feelings that my poor dogs jumped on top of me to protect me and to calm me down too and they're not small dogs. So, if I do see it, I'll wait til it streams, and I can watch it from the safety of home. I absolutely love McAvoy. He's an amazing actor. His facial expressions are terrifying though 😂.
Same! It's not a pleasant movie to watch for sure ... I heard this version has made some major changes so I will maybe give it a go. Without seeing the original I would've most likely gone straight to the theater upon release
You guys would have found this film cathartic if you watched it in the cinema. It's very tense and gripping but also very entertaining, and you come out of the theatre with a warmed heart not a broken one.
I saw it in Excerpts. Tonight I finished it. Very very good.. It had suspense, it was good. My kid would of just went without her teddy bear or rabbit or whatever it was. Considering the circumstances, She would of just had to hate me till she got over it. But that's Hollywood.. Congratulations to James.. God bless. It was Great.
This was my most dreaded remake after loving the original Danish version BUT James is the best part of it, even though I'd say it wasn't as good, nowhere near as tense or brutal James' acting was perfect
I thought that Seth had started wearing a toupee. It was rather gauche for James to bring attention. But Seth managed to pass it off and stay friendly 😂
He's too good at creepy. Really enjoy his acting.
You'd be surprised what amazing actors can pull off.
He's too sexy to be creepy to me, but he's still really good.
James Mcavoy always making me smile all throughout his interviews like a maniac omg..

Someone saying they’re kinda a fan but meh
His whole outfit is ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I cant get enough of James Mcavoy!!
Please have James on the family trips podcast. I'm sure that episode would leave me in tears because I'd laugh so hard.
Dunno
How is he always so witty and charming that I can’t get enough of him
Oh! It's the Vortex of Scottish Charm! 🥰🥰🥰 I love James' accent.
Def sounds a lot like Craig Ferguson
His accent is sooooooo nice!
Wits fur ye'll no go by ye
This guy deserves an academy award!! He is an awesome actor.
No idea he was this awesome of a personality!!! My new fave
Watch his interviews on Graham Norton show. He's a riot.
I like Seth and James together!! They've always had good chemistry
7:14 The way he says "playing devilish" 😂😂😂
It is always amazed me how he can switch on and off.
One of my favorite actors. Every movie character he plays he nails it, so brilliant.
Love him too.
Only James can play a terrible guy and scary yet you love him. Was a great movie
I need a “Daydrinking” segment with these two. After an hour James will be going full Scott
Oh god! That would be the absolute best!
I'm just a little bit concerned... I mean they're both good at drinking... I think they both would die

Whos Scott?
I love James he is an incredible actor
I saw the original 'Speak No Evil' on a Shudder, and really liked it. Since I love some James, I'll probably see this version as well.
Both Seth and James are gorgeus silver foxes
Please go day drinking with James!!😂❤
I hope his accent gets really really thick when he's drunk. 😁
Peebles are excited about weird Scottish circuses but if it’s one or the other, day drinking is the right choice.
Somehow I truly believe McAvoy will be like 5% drunk by the time Seth passes out. Sorry, Seth, but no.
James is that dude in highschool that everyone fawns over because hes so kind and charming
🥰
And very good looking
He was amazing in the movie
There are no consequences to aging when you look as good as James McAvoy.😍
Totally agree

So did you watch it?
Seems like a very cool dude. And he's also a great actor.
James is so incredibly talented! Omg!
Give this man an Oscar already holy Christ...waited enough
So totally agree, man! Split, It. Chapter 2 and Speak No Evil, what more do you need man?
I have loved him since "King of Scotland."
One of the scariest actors out there right now - Like Robert Mitchum terrorizing Gregory Peck scary.
Totally! He plays diabolical extremely well.

@@spameranneIt's a reference to Cape Fear (1962)
@@Newton-Reuther- He's even more threatening in Night of the Hunter though, I'd say.
I was about to say that the vibe I was getting from McAvoy in the trailer was like seeing Mitchum in Night of the Hunter.
I just watched this movie. It is very good. I saw the original as well. They both hold their own.
Correction … Berliners go to Berghain on a Sunday morning til Sunday night. It only opens Sunday morning (midnight) but closes Monday morning;)

Say “devilish” again James. 🥰
Late night editor, the movie is called “Speak no evil”
they called it see no evil subconsciously because nobodies watching it
Or they are testing Jackals to see if we spot mistakes in titles!

Why Monday? I think he is talking about Saturday and Sunday. And on Monday everybody gets back to work.

Fantastic video! I appreciated it.
First time I saw him as a horror killer and villain which was a huge difference and how good he is at it too
I'm a huge fan of him since "Becoming Jane" (my favourite movie ever ❤️). A great actor and so charming, humble and funny ❤️🤗
These two have been "hot rodents" since before that was even a thing. It's so pleasant to see them together. 🔥🔥
James is such an underrated actor. He could play pretty much any role in.
He'll always be Mister Tumnus to me
And 20 other personalities 😏
YES!!
I was going to say, having lived in Berlin, the reason that people can go to Berghain for days at a time is because they're on SO much coke. 😂
Great underrated actor imo; perfect role for him, he has that screen presence and intensity to make it believable.
McAvoy has unsettled me a few times in movies.
One of my favorite actors.
He is got to be the most sexiest man alive! My God!
Okay even James McAvoy thinks Seth's hair looks like Xenomorph
Day drinking with Seth & James - BRING IT!!
I had tickets to go to that taping and couldn’t go ahhhh lol
ahhhh lol
He is so amazing
Hermoso! He is the best ❤
Always here for The Scottish Vacuum of Charm!
A swirling vortex!
He's so good.
How does anyone not love James McAvoy?
James is a riot.
He never fails to amaze
ive watched so many james interviews that ive started predicting his answers to the questions... im scared
This is the level of obsessions I have we both need go to therapy at some point
He's not wrong. That film stayed with me for a bit.
However, the bad movie lives on for posterity, whereas the play, well, it's more ephemeral
James needs to be cast as a romantic lead more often! It’s been ages since Atonement and Penelope 😢😩
Love him in UK Shameless
I probably would have watched it had I NOT seen the original. The original made me MAD. I don't need to see it again.
