I know this is kind of a new thing people are doing with baking soda but you can do the same thing with spackle and it takes paint quite well
Baking soda is probably cheaper.
@@treeseneese8655 I did not think about that if you are doing a big project like the beautiful picture that you did you're probably correct
@@erikseanwolff5341 But good suggestion on the spackle, that would definitely hold up longer I would assume.
Spackle does work great. Corn starch, or flour might be a comparable substitute as well.
Good tip👍🏾😊
This mixture is FANTASTIC for beach scenes. You can really get the water and breakers on the sand to look awesome. Thanks for sharing the video!
Will this glue and baking soda attract bugs
This would be great way to make ocean waves 🌊 on an ocean paint pour to embellish the white waves 🌊
finally, a project where I don't have to stay inside the lines...
Lol! Never stay inside the lines!
I love this. I would use a piping bag for the center and pipe little drops
That's a good idea!
That would be a great idea! If you don't have a Piping Bag, you could substitute a Zip Lock Bag!
Good idea!!!!!
Turned out absolutely beautiful something you would see in a boutique💕🌸🌸🌸

Very cool! Yes I use spackle, putty, even grout on glass vases to give texture...it works great! Thank you for this video!
I’ve thought about grout but wasn’t sure if it needed to be the kind that was not sanded.
I mix all of those same items with paper machet
I’m not an artsy person. Had you shown the finished product, I wouldn’t have watched. If I were an artsy person, I’d have thought this very cool, especially since you can choose the colors.
This was so cute and something I want to do with my 7yr old. I'm saving this video for another day. Thank you for the inspiration, my daughter is going to love it!!!🤗
Arre any of the items toxic?
@@maureensamson4863 not in the first one but I guess it would depend on the type/brand of glue you use.
@@maureensamson4863 Breathing in air is toxic.
@@maureensamson4863 Driving in your plasticy car is toxic.
Thank y ou it has given me some ideas. Waves on the ocean and sand - beach scene.
I had that same thought. This technique would be perfect for a beach scene.
I love how you reused an old canvas! The new one is so pretty. Thank you for sharing your idea!! : )
This would look awesome on a wall, love it!!
Put my cake decorating skills to use and put that in a pastry bag….. I could do….. so many things🤫🤭🥰
That 💐FLOWER💐 project turned out DARLING!!!
I absolutely...LOVE it!!!
This Is SO NEAT!!!
You Say Brown...BUT, I See GREEN (MY FAVORITE COLOR!!!). QUESTION:. CAN You Add Flax Seed To Your Brown Mixture To Stand Out More When Flower Tries? 🤔🙂
TYIA @Hometalk
I was skeptical at first but it turned out so beautiful I love it I’m going to try it myself thank you for the idea .
Cool 😎
Idea 💡
I paint boxes and bags to put out Christmas gifts in for family. I'm going to try it with a snowman and a tree scene. If it don't work out and can scratch it off. If it does work out I will have a cool extra gift on the boxes.
I'm going to do this in the wooden birdhouses that my husband makes!! Thank you!
Is any substance toxic ?
@@maureensamson4863 you better check out that water ☹️
Brown....? Why does it look green to me? 😲
This turned out sooo BEAUTIFUL!!!
Thank you for sharing the paint recipe. I love your flower and I think I can paint one now. I have 2 sisters that paint all kinds of things Not me but I do think i can at least paint this kind of abstract
Flower that you created. Janice
This is similar to diy modeling or texture paste for mixed media. This is a neat way to use it!
Yes pretty close to the mud used for paper mache ..
Do you make miniature landscapes.❤
I loved you used an old canvas and made it new. What a great idea! Good project to do with my girls. Can't wait to try.
Love!
Wonderful Idea Lisa! Thank you so much, you gave me a great bonding project to do with my daughter.

Very clever, have not seen anyone using baking soda/glue, and only small amount of paint does the trick! What a savings on paint a d love the chunkyness! Nice job....

I have DT canvases and I can see a grandkids for Halloween coming 😊 thanks for the inspiration ❤
I found colored glue at the Dollar Tree in the arts and crafts area. I bought the blue it's really pretty.I saw a pretty green as well.

Getting used canvases at the thrift store are so much cheaper too.

Beautiful but I'm curious will the bicarb not over dry and become porous.?
Thank you so much Lisa, I really really enjoyed watching you create this amazing canvas. It is a great way to repurpose a canvas too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags

Thank You cheers from Pennsylvania 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🎚🎚🎚
Very pretty!
I wish that she would show the finished product at the beginning of the video, so that I could decide whether or not it worth watching.
just forward to the end and see it?
That’s amazing how you combine the baking soda and paint too, it’s really looks just like the way when you buy paint in the tube! Great ideals 👍👍👍
Thank you for thegreat Demo. Love ❤️ it! We just moved into a new apt. Will make for it.
Love this interesting technique.
All white would hv been pretty as the shadows would give a grayscale feel.
It would be a bas relief style as old school European artist used plaster.
This was So Pretty! What a great idea 💡 & thanks for Sharing!!!
That's beautiful and simple 👍
Such a great idea to reuse old canvas.
Beautiful love it thanks
I like to squirt the back of the canvas with water to make the material nice and tight that way it doesn't become too floppy over time.
Very creative, you go girl!💯
Cute idea. That looks simple, fun and easy.
This would do nicely on a wall or ceiling too ! 🤗🤗
Beautiful!!!I love!!!👏🥰❤️🇺🇸
Very Beautiful Lisa. Great Art. Thank You for Sharing.
Fantastic idea I love ❤️ the 3-D paint ty
What a great idea, love it !! Thank you.
This doesn’t work with every glue. Test it first. The sodium can do something weird to some glues.
@Oonagh72
👍👍👍
Super glue is one of those. It combined with Baking Soda makes a hard plastic that cures in seconds.
😊Thanks for sharing your knowledge! I’m sure it will save many of us a lot of grief. lol
what you are calling brown, is green
Thank you very much gor this thorough tutorial.
Wow that was amazing, I didn’t know you can do that with those three ingredients. Thank you I’m going to try it
This is cute. Maybe even I can do it lol. Curious how the center brown looks green to me, but it could be the phone.
This is great! Thank you so much for sharing ... Simply beautiful~ I needed a bit of inspiration. ❤❇️🙏
And in the end the painting she used was a million dollar painting
I loved the painting it came out great.
😍👆👆😍 that’s very pretty!!
That's a cool way to make a coloured mortar ..
Really pretty! I might give it a try, and thanks.
Geez, l liked the thrift store painting in black better!
I love making that paint texture. It's also gesso. I added color to mine as well to add different textures paint inside my mixed media art and jewelry. Very pretty, Great work😍❤️
With just some baking soda, glue and water. *Grabs magical bucket of paint*
Awesome. Loving that vase too !!!
That looks fantastic, going to give that a try for sure 💕❤️🌻🌻🌻🌻. So you start with the mixture & keep adding pink. Then with the same bowl you add brown, which turns into green?? 🐣🤣
Thanks for sharing, very pretty.👍💕
Such a cool idea
I can't believe how many comments that are asking what kind of paint you used. Lol BEAUTIFUL WORK DEAR.
...so the lime green center turned brown??
Adorable!
AWESOME, have been looking for something sing my put paint days.
I am gonna use this same concept but make some textured roses 🌹. Love this idea, thanks for the video
I'm so happy for that video I find, thanks a lot for that share with us.

I was looking for a nice video like this thanks!
Fantastic 🌞And T U for the heads up on reusing Canvas. Never knew
What a great idea 💡 I love what you did with that canvas. I ♥️ the color of that vase I have it in another color.
Wow, what a fantastic paint, love it
- Beautiful piece of art ! ! ! Thanx 4 sharing.
Fun project! Thinking of doing trees or ocean scene with the tectured paint !
Thank you for this!! This is a great idea
Did u also make that vase that's sitting beside it?? I LOVE IT ❤️😍😍
creating texture: Clear glue and baking soda. 👍
Repurposing those canvases are a smart way to save money. Because, they can be expensive when buying them new.
Beautifull 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Just remember that too much filler(baking soda, cornstarch, etc) w8ll cause the paint to flake off later. Glue might delay it for a while, but don't be surprised when the paint flakes off. Just redo your project.
*Omgosh.... I love this!!! 😍😍😍* Sharon in SC
