I honestly like it without the Shroud. But the screws will need to be filed down to minimize the unsightly protrusion. I would also use stainless steel screws giving it that industrial look. The Crown will have to be replaced with a shorter one as well.
Without a shadow of a doubt, you picked the right watch to keep. I absolutely adore the tuna design….not sure why and couldn’t put my finger on it, but I think they are awesome. Not sure the black version looks ok without the shroud though. I’ve seen a plain stainless steel one and didn’t think that looked too bad. I guess with the black it’s got that stealth look, and the shroud adds to that.
Great video Josh. I prefer the watch with the shroud. BTW, I guesses correctly that you would keep the tuna 👏 very nice watch, hope you continue to enjoy it. Take care my friend 👍
Nice! I think I like it on best... Question: What mm hex wrench fits the shroud screws?... how about an Amazon link to your hex screwdriver?... I sure would appreciate it! I went to your store but did not see those screwdrivers... Robert Dakota Dunes, SD I think it is a 1.5 hex.....
I agree with your choice of keeping the TUNA BLACK. Says the TUNA collector... Now, the question here is WR. I'm no expert but I cannot see why/how it would impact it (WR). What say you?
Hahaha! When you tooked of the shroud it was funny. but then you screwed the screws in !!! after weeks of beeing horrified i had one idea!!! YOU CREATED 2 NEW TUNA MODELLS - in one step! for hellraiser fans you can name it "the pinhead"! for elder ones call it "the herman munster"! 😘 🤣
Does anybody know where to purchase new shrouds? I have a white sne545 and I don’t know where to find a replacement. Mine got yellow after one months… horrible mistake buying a white plastic watch…
@@TheTownWatch i thought you were jokingly referring to a screwdriver as a “hex wrench” 😀 A wrench is obviously not the same tool as a screwdriver 😀at least in Australia it is not 🤘😄
@@aussiesuperman5426 You're probably right, I think I misspoke. It's a hex head screwdriver I guess. Thanks for watching! Hope you check out more of my content on my channel.
I didnt know some had plastic shrouds.. Ive always been into just 007s, now getting into tunas.. All i seen were titanium case and shroud..plastic seems cheap tbh but seiko has been cheaping out over the years i guess.. I mean look what they did tonthe 007.. Discontinued it and gave us shit quality compared to the og that looks exactly the same.. Well the NH is a step up.. But the rest ehh, id rather take a old one and throw a nh in it lol..
You've just given Seiko their new "special edition" 😂
That's right! 😅 Thanks for watching!

Now it looks like a citizen promaster

Always appreciate you watching Felo! You guessed it!! 👊
It looks okay without the shroud from the top view but once you see the holes on the side, not so much. Nice pick
Probably possible to put in some dark grub screws into the screw holes.
Nice, it reminds me of Seiko Bottle Cap, which could be inspired by shroudless Tuna. c",)
Thanks for watching!
Looks cool. Leave the shroud off and put the screws back to plug up the holes. It’s like having a different watch
💯 Thanks for watching!
I’ve done this! It is one of those “pay no attention to the man behind the curtain” moments.
Can wear it without on the solars but not with the monocoque cases as the bezels come off without the shroud 🤙🏻
Does this Seiko tuna collect dust under the shroud often?
I don't find that it does. Thanks for watching!
Is it still water resist after the shroud removal
I believe it still is, but I'm not 100% sure. Thanks for watching!
Thanks! I always wanted to know what’s under the tuna can 😂
😅 Thanks for watching!
Did you use a Torx to remove an Allen / Hex? Confused …
I might have misspoke... Sometimes I get mixed up on the terms. Thanks for watching!
Will this shroud fit the SNJ025 “Arnie”

Dakota Dunes, SD
I think it is a 1.5 hex.....
Thanks for watching! Sorry I don't remember which size fit. Here is the link to my screw driver set - amzn.to/41jBCgx (affiliate link)
Whats is the name of this screw????
If you can get screws that sits flush with the case which will even look better.
That would be cool. Thanks for watching!
Good one to keep! Love it.
Thanks for watching!

Where do I find the SD-6 hexhead driver? I've been trying to find what size driver that is...
I would say check Amazon. Thanks for watching!
Thankyou for this, i wonder if anyone makes replacement shrouds
Thanks for watching. I think there are companies that do.
wow ! amazing!

@@TheTownWatch please, if anybody knows just answer to this comment. Thanks! 🙏🏻🥲
I don't know sorry, but I wonder if you have a 3D printer or know someone who does maybe you can print one@@94JAVS
Took the shroud off mine for a while, became a wearable 42mm. But had to put it back due it being so much a part of the design.😬
Keep it on the shroud. BTW, Seiko has a previous model that looks like a hockey puck. Check with Shane at Relative Time, he did a review in the past.
Thanks Greg!
“Hex wrench” 😂😂😂
I don't get it...

@@TheTownWatch all good. I was just assuming it was a planned joke 😀Made me smile 😀 Good content 🤘
Wearing mine without the shroud and without the screws. It looks better for my skinny wrist.
Nice! Thanks for watching!
A very late comment, but I think if you screw the screws back in directly to the case without the shroud, the watch would look great.
Ya that happens at around 5:30 watch it and see
@@Mark-sd7fc Thank you. I just watched. Wacky. I think there is a Seiko with 4 pushers or a Casio. Unsure. Thanks for the response.
It's be great if a third party produced a titanium or carbon fibre shroud.
I think there are some third party companies that do produce shrouds but I'm not sure all the materials they use. Thanks for watching!
Exactly where my mind was going, maybe a nice carbon fibre
The Seiko Bottle Cap is basically what a tuna is without the shroud.
Thanks for watching!
Doesn’t look bad. The crown is definitely more pronounced. I don’t think the holes go all the way through. But not 100%.
Thanks for watching my friend!
Cut the screws so they are flush with the case - or order new shorter screws!
The crown looks extra large without the shroud.
I agree!
looks better
Thanks for watching!
Put the screws back see how it looks at least
It won't affect water resistance
Thanks for the info!
So put the screws back in.

I can only imagine the gunk you'd find if you took it apart after a few years of wear
No doubt! Thanks for watching!
WR should not be affected...
Thanks for watching!
This is the way Marlon Brando would have worn his Tuna if he had had one.
kinda got a hockey puck vibe...

👍

No lol
IMO its looks awful other than with the shroud
