A lot of the Boss themes have been formatted for XIV Chaos's Theme, you have Cloud of Darkness, Golbez and the Four Fiends on top of Culex's Theme from SMRPG, Ex-Death's theme, Kefka's theme. You Have Ultimacia's Theme, Even have Omega's Theme. Even force your way and the IX Battle Music is used as Boss Music If you like I can point out which duties those themes are attached to
FFVIII Boss theme is sooo iconic, it's literally shows the dynamic of the fight and the very hard boss you're gonna have a bad time dealing with.. I love it so much
It might be my nostalgia for the game, but Force Your Way is my most favourite boss theme of _any game._ I couldn't even tell you why, while I've heard and loved many boss themes from many a game, Force Your Way always remained at the top for me.
While that could be fueled by nostalgia, it is still valid that Force Your Way is such an incredible track. Getting to hear it back-to-back when fighting the Propogators was a treat!
Just to let you know FFI boss theme have 3 version, 1 for "the mini boss", 1 for Earth and Water elemental Fiend boss fight, 1 for Fire & Wind elemental Fiend boss fight.
16 would be S++ if you included the Eikon Themes. Remember, at Distant Worlds, they didn't play that. They played Away (Joshua/Phoenix), Ascension (Dion/Bahamut), My Star (Jill/Shiva, and Amanda was even there to sing it!), and lastly...Soken got up on stage with a PS5 controller, told the audience to accept the truth, and then went into Find the Flame (Clive/Ifrit)
I was at the New York show and hearing the music from XVI for the first time blew me away. And hearing Amanda sing was gorgeous, first time I've seen her live. And Soken being there was the icing on the cake. The audience roared when he came out on stage.
FInal Fantasy XI Boss Themes would be, in expansion order: Base Game - Tough Battle Rise of the Zilart - Tough Battle 2 Chains of Promathia - Turmoil Treasures of Aht Urghan - Hellriders Wings of the Goddess - Kindred Cry (my personal favorite of them all) Seekers of Adoulin - Keepers of the Wild I don't recall Rhapsodies of Vana'diel having a boss theme and I haven't played much into Voracious Resurgence.
It's really a shame some of 14's better boss themes get hidden in the .X patches, which replace the main boss theme for an expansion and act as, for example 'Shadowbringers, Part 2'. Insatiable has two versions in the game itself, the MSQ version and the version that plays every boss fight from ShB.1 to ShB.5. You can find it on TH-cam under Insatiable (Scions & Sinners). With the pixel remasters, I know what the original sound like already and my opinions between 3-6 are based on the same opinions I've always had. The arrangement doesn't matter, just the composition itself.
Wasn't a fan of what they did with the majority of the musical tracks in the pixel remasters. The original themes were far superior in my opinion. As for the FF14 tracks, a lot of Soken's music in the game takes awhile before it gets to the meat of the music, but when it does they are great tracks.
I mean it is your opinion and we all gotta respect each others’ opinions, but FFVII at B! 😂 when it is regarded as the best boss battle theme of all time is some diabolical shit.
If you haven't heard it already, FFXIV redid a few FFIV songs for Endwalker and they sound =crisp=
Forged in Crimson, one of the revisions of Battle with the Four Fiends, absolutely SLAPS. The best battle music in 14 comes from the raids and trials.

My suggestion is to pick the orignal songs from the original consoles.
The remake/remastered are usually worse
With the pixel remasters, I know what the original sound like already and my opinions between 3-6 are based on the same opinions I've always had. The arrangement doesn't matter, just the composition itself.
Wasn't a fan of what they did with the majority of the musical tracks in the pixel remasters. The original themes were far superior in my opinion.
As for the FF14 tracks, a lot of Soken's music in the game takes awhile before it gets to the meat of the music, but when it does they are great tracks.
Once I actually start making my way through the FF14 expansions, I can definitely learn to appreciate the music in that game a lot more! :)
I mean it is your opinion and we all gotta respect each others’ opinions, but FFVII at B! 😂 when it is regarded as the best boss battle theme of all time is some diabolical shit.
I know why so many people do this though- it brings clicks and engagement and in turn bread- so fair enough
You thought this was gonna be a predictable tier list, huh? 😂
nah, FF7 boss is pretty much mid compared to others in the franchise, but people like it so much because of nostalgia
7's boss theme is good but definitely not top 5. The remake version is better tho
