My problem with this is: they won't greenlit season 2 until season 1 come out. When they finally film again, the egg actor will be a teen, not a child. My hope is they film season 2 and 3 together or with a small gap. Dunk and Egg doesn't work if Egg is not a child, I think.
Well, there's a 2 year gap between the 1st and second novella, so a delay there would still work, unless season 2 fills the time jump (which id kinda like to see cause, well, 'Dorne'. Need I say more, but there is a year between the 2nd and 3rd so your idea about a back to back season two and three would work well too. The 3 novellas cover 3 years so I'm confident wee egg's aging will fit the timeline.
Yeah, it's a problem. Honestly, with how slowly all shows are made nowadays they'll have to start seriously considering recasting child actors when there's a child main character in a show. It's better to have a recast actor than to just completely destroy believability or to use some terrible looking CGI 'de-aging' trickery like they did in the IT sequel. Look how ridiculous the next season of Stranger Things is going to be with 25 year old high school freshmen, or whatever they are supposed to be. You could get away with 30 year old teenagers in '80s slasher films, but you can't get away with that anymore-especially not with what are supposed to be pre-pubescent characters.
@@carter9449 that’s a 1 to 2 ratio…and HotD episodes are far longer than the average GoT episode - HotD season 1 was equal to eleven GoT season 6 episodes (on average)
7:46 Peacemaker has recently finished filming so that is something they could plug for the summer/fall. And still hoping we hear how many episodes HOTD s3 by March start of filming in Leavesden.
I miss the days when we got new episodes September - June, then reruns in July & August. Of course, back then, the shows we were watching weren’t sweeping epics with huge casts, filming locations all over the world, and post-filming CGI to do! People forget that shows like GOT aren’t 30-min sitcoms filmed in a studio in Burbank! 😂
I think Peacemaker will take fall 2025 because the Movie is coming out in the summer & it would overshadow Peacemaker s2. It'd be perfect for DC & Warner cuz their fans would be focus on that show so i think Summer 2025 is perfect for Dunk & Egg
I bet they're delaying it because HotD is also delayed....I also wonder if it's because Pedro and Bella are in "Last of Us" and they don't want them doing press for that while the new ASOIAF universe show is airing, because they could potentially be critical of the new show which would make people not want to watch it because they were on GoT and their characters were beloved, arguably in the top 5 most beloved in the whole series, in the secondary characters at the very least, so HBO don't want any more bad press for one of their shows in that IP
I am so out. I want the books, but George has all but admitted they will never be done. Dunk and Egg is my favorite of all stories in this world, but after what they did with HOTD season 2 I am not optimistic about the stories being properly adapted true to the source material. I lost interest in HOTD because the story and characters no longer resemble the source material. I am not interested in Jon Snow sequel, Arya goes west of Westeros, Aegon the conqueror, Nymeria or any other TV shows. I was so pissed at what they did with GOT I initially gave HOTD a pass and only watched it when reviewers I trust gave thumbs up, I was surprised at how good it was, but season 2 I felt betrayed like I did Season 5 GOT. If George wants to cement his legacy before he dies, he should focus on finishing the story he started and that launched him to stardom and wealth. But he seems to think he is better off staking his reputation and legacy on bad TV shows. I will always love the books we have, but not going to set myself up for more disappointment watching shows and waiting for books that are never coming.
Dude, dude, look at Fire & Blood, now look at any of the Dunk & Egg stories. You mention staying true to source material, so I assume you have read both. Staying true to Dunk & Egg is infinitely simpler than Fire & Blood, there we have a story with actual characters and actual dialogue, not an analysis of 3 separate historical sources as with Fire & Blood, with absolutely no characters with an actual personality and no dialogue. Use your brain and have a little faith.

that's why they should have just done it animated if they were gonna take this long on production lol

They’ve shown that they don’t care about recasting main characters 🤷♂️
The first 4 seasons of game of thrones all aired in about the same time frame as the 1st and 19th episode of HoTD

So when do you think they will start filming for AKOTSK season 2?
if it gets renewed, it will be 6 months after based on house of the dragon.

Dude, a delay doesn’t mean the show will fail. 🤦♀️
I'm afraid Asoiaf is dead. Between GRRM never finishing, and the tepid reaction to season 2 nobody really cares anymore.
Wrong. Almost all shows take this long these days. Stop the overreaction
If no one cared anymore, no one would be talking about it. A LOT of people are talking about it.
