I don’t get why some experienced drivers have the need to voice out why others struggle to get on bays. We all started somewhere and simple videos like this are so helpful to the less experienced drivers. The lack of support at times is so unnecessary and this is why some new drivers don’t last once the licence is achieved. We need to help each other out and not be so negative when others struggle to get on to bays etc. I haven’t been driving long and everyday I am learning the schematics of how to get into places even if it means getting out the cab to look. I also get out and be an extra set of eyes when I see someone struggling. We aren’t all bad apples but we need to support each other more!
Yeah, thats my nemisis at the moment. I just moved to Class1 after 2 years on class 2 an 7.5t. I can do everything perfectly apart from the reversing onto bays. I do feel a bit stupid taking 10 shunts to get in and still being a little crooked. You can't really turn up to a shift and just start practising for an hour before you go out.
@@sleepercell9926 I've got my test 8 days from now then hopefully I can move up from the vans to the Class1 in the company I'm with now. It's shocking how nobody shows you any of this reversing while training, just one simple reversing exercise and then you're left to figure out everything else while on the job. In my current place we have a turntable for HGV in the yard but it always breaks after it rains so they then have to come in and do a 180 turn on the spot then reverse over the broken turntable which turns under them. We've seen more than a few HGV drivers near breaking point in our yard. Then you get the warehouse staff who can't even drive a car watching and making stupid comments. It's crazy. Way I see it, mate is if you've done 10 shunts and are a bit crooked but you haven't hit anything or squashed anyone then you've succeeded 👍
Good morning mate, i can't get you videos notifications, even though I selected all notifications too, anyways i love your content mate, keep posting such videos for new truck drivers like me. I think I love most in your videos over others videos is your accent, superb mate. Peace and love from #Dubai
Done those bays a couple of times on that site back when i was a new driver always got anxiety pulling up to that place just hoping the bays weren't crowded like in the video 😂
It’s more useful to say exactly what you are doing example:- position yourself about 45 degrees of the bay, full lock left and when you reach this position start to take the lock off, go forward and straighten up etc etc. I tried to learn reversing from videos but pretty much all are useless. Just shows a person reversing which is not much help to a new driver.
I Load out of Sittingbourne sometimes and that's Blind Reverse Between Trucks, if in Doubt, Get out and Check but usually there is someone to give you the Thumbs Up to Indicate that you are Clear.
Thanks for the video bro , we learning a lot from u guys 👍... I wish I was able to leave my country nd work with u there ... yesterday I passed my driving test from one the big companies in South Africa. ..the only thing that stopped them from hiring me is my previous employers r not well known 😏... They don't care with your driving skills. all South African big companies seem to follow that nonsense and the small companies r paying peanuts or sometimes they won't pay u at all, u not registered, u driving unroadworthy trucks...bro !!! 😥... They are very tight there at iceland warrington especially when there are trailer parked on the fence on the left-hand side. Don't miss working for iceland as you say pain in ass moving stock to get frozen stock out.
Now go and see some of the back door to some of the theatres around the uk that I've backed 45ft artic into, let,s start with the grand theatre Blackpool. Then theatre Royal in bath. Then Marlow theatre Canterbury, then............ Well any theatre in the uk basically.
I had built my international driving permit from the international driver association from America, Is this permit or not, in Lithuania eligible or not / please say something about my IDP
@@Therevenantdale actually I got a job from Lithuanian transport company as a trailer driver if I drive a truck in abroad definitely I want international driving permit because I am a Indian national I have driving licence from India that's why I had make international driving licence from the international drivers association
Are you kidding, that could not have been any easier ! You need to stop bigging up your part. Any driver who thinks that is a difficult manoeuvre needs to have a long look at themselves.
At best food logistics we unload 7 pallets take them to the top floor at KFC in arndale then the driver has to unload all the pallets placing it on to a sack truck and put all products outside fridge freezer and dry store and we do this at all stores burgerking KFC pizza hut nandos
We were taught how to reverse a rigid to a spot with 2 inches of clearance either side. Made it so easy when I went for my semi licence years later. Any truckie who can't reverse accurately should probably stick to light trucks and vans, until they're taught how to do it properly.
@@charpakgeorges1434 Isn't that something you would've been taught at driver training? Find an empty car park on the weekend and have a go. Once you learn to reverse your car into a spot using only your two wing mirrors (and maybe your reversing camera if fitted), you can reverse anything you drive into a tight spot safely and easily.
Oh come on.....that's a piece of piss. The only thing making it difficult is getting the lock off when you've got your arse in. That is because of the wall. But it's standard fare if you can drive an artic and you did it easily. Opening your doors if you have barn doors might be a pain.
What is the problem? Did you get your licence free with your ticket on the dingy at Calais. That reverse was what we call a P.O.P. or piece of p***. How you find that a difficult reverse is very sad. I think you need to surrender your licence?, and go back to parcel delivery. I won’t be subscribing!
I think someone needs some salt & pepper as there making a rite meal of that ffs!🙄 Get your trailer pointing in the direction you need to go in the first place, I’d back on there in one hit !👌
The "froozen" cracked me up LOL....well done, mate, anyhow
Love the banter a bit of chat makes the day so much shorter👍
Cool 😎
My dad used to drive HGVs , buses , mini buses & then onto security vans .
I appreciate fully the skills needed to drive safely
Brilliant vid

Seen a few bays like this myself. Not a bad job at all nicely done!
Top reversing that
Thanks
Oh.. I can feel the pressure, let alone see it....!
That looks like Iceland Warrington.
There are drivers, and then there's screwdrivers
Its all right. It's very hard if you just started to drive, especially from car to hgv c+e.. Otherwise its super easy..
Good job from Brampton Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks Rd Burke I always wanted to drive in Canada maybe one day
I like watching trucking videos coz I play euro truck simulator 2.
That's not even close to being tight! Nice reverse but not tight at all! Didn't hit anything and nobody died, so 10/10 still.

How is the work, how many hours per day ,can you choose to do morning shifts?

Nice..... Good job
Mad position for a sat nav that
I sometimes deliver to the chill department there.
Very cool mate 👏👏
Yeah I can remember when I'd have thought that was a tight reverse too.
The ink on my licence has dried since then though.

How was the 1st guy struggling think you’ve watched to much eddie stobart programmes 😂😂😂🤷🏻♂️
Nice work mate!
There’s nothing tight about that reverse. All pretty normal for a DC
Good job hey,,,,so easy
If that's hard !!!!! time to send that licence back.
If your in Iceland best to stay there
Easy reverse for UK borne driver😂
Thanks mate 👍

I think Iceland Enfield is worse, with trailers parked opposite the bays.
am from Cameroon
Why drive round? Drive past and wait? simple enough reverse not raining or dark easy standard reverse onto a bay
I don’t remember but I think I was blocking traffic
Hard😂😂😂😂
Froozen food😅
You can tell you've never done shunting before. That bay was massive.
Ok
That aint tight. Tuffnells in Wellingborough is much much tighter
Painful to watch ! You must get your licence in a lucky bag , straight forward reverse on your own side in daylight , 2 minutes max !
1 min 20 in all,..I bet your the type that rushes around breaking off peoples wing mirrors,..
Big man you are.
Did you come out Ur mum's pussy with 20 years experience?
Hahaha
@Therevenantdale Don't mind keyboard warriors.
Passing a test with S reverse and sticking trailer in a bay is totally different scenarios.
