Im a new Class 1 HGV driver and this was my very 1st "BIG" reverse.
This video is for people that may consider to become a HGV driver or for new class 1 drivers...like myself. I'm also learning ...on the go!

About me:
I'm a brand new Class 1 driver that actually like driving trucks and being on the road. As you noticed i got a "strong" South African accent but been living in the UK for more than 16 years. The reason why I make these videos, I was once in your shoes where TH-cam was my wealth of HGV knowledge and I would like to contribute.

That was a superb really long, narrow (and that's the really unforgiving part), reverse. How you kept a cool head is inspirational.
i was there so many times with my arctic.....i never went all the way down at that yard,just right near their office do one side than move over so they can do the other. Much easier that way but well done you sir.

good job! personally i would've been looking to reverse in and drive out considering there was plenty of room on the road for that manoeuvre and i always like to know my exit i also believe backing out onto the highway is also illegal
yeh i would av backed in aswell
They told me im not allowed to reverse in as i wont be able to make the turn from the main road and its company policy
i was with you all the way .....i am impressed i need a lie down after watching that i hope they never send me to yards like that ...that was pain ..got to be one of the worst ....

Well thank you, that was my 1st week behind the wheel. Just remember..... you have to start somewhere and thus you learn on the go! Hard part was getting the licence.... now its a learn as you go

Absolutely loved the attitude.... A bit of a nightmare " but very exciting.." ( I think I would need a change of underwear of that was me....).! Taking class 2 theory tomorrow and these videos are great to watch... thank you for posting. 😲

Reminds me of my 2nd day as class 1 driver, avoiding a low bridge with no pre warning signs ending up up an industrial estate, nowhere to turn around, parked cars everywhere, had to reverse back similar distance 😢😢, nightmare,😂well done mate,I managed it aswell JUST 😂

I've recently passed my test, and only been out once by myself in a month with hardly any training.
It's not easy at all, especially when you can't see anything on the blind side !! 😳

Next time, park on the road, call the destination, tell them to meet you at the entrance and back you in, then you can just drive out
Not allowed.... must drive in and reverse out. Yard rules..... the issue is the yard is unorganised
I would do like that ...if they're no happy cancel delivery...If something happens they blame the driver anyway...Its my license and I would make decisions how to get in to reduce potential damage etc ...not them...few drivers cancelled deliveries in our yard aswell without any hassle
The most inconsiderate builders yard I've ever seen, just another foot wider would be ample, 👏

You have no need to go threw that bullshit park at the roadside and get the telehandler to lift them of remember if you damage something it's you that gets it good driving though 👍👍👍
