Excitied for the future too. Seeing, then explaining & showing what you're doing and why....has always been your strong point, and is why I've subscribed as many years that I have. Thanks Nigel.
This tree looks good. Remember that mature Brazilian Rain trees develop a twisted trunk. They are beautiful bonsai subjects. Loved all the bonsai updates. Thanks for your videos. Always a pleasure to watch.
I really appreciate the detailed trimming video. I aquired a double trunk Brazilian Rain Tree in July for my bday and it's ready for some serious pruning. Your thought processes and strategies are very informative.
Love watching these. Just a wealth of information. Normally I actually watch a few videos of yours in a day (recent and a few old ones). Hope the kitties are doing good. Bet they are bigger now. Update: kitties are bigger and mum hasn't got her tounge hanging out her mouth. Super
I like the idea to look on pictures of the species mature and natural growing in the wild and get inspired. Some just buy trees and style single one of them as they was pines.
I really like the Brazilian rain tree, even if it's still in development. I love the shape of the trunk and the cute leaves. It's one of my favourites! And really enjoying the windchimes in the background 🎶
I just found you on You Tube and I thank you for the information you share. I will start watching all the videos because it's so useful for all types of pruning. Meanwhile, I have learned that I CANNOT live near a rooster!
I have a Sophora Japonica which in appearance is quite similar to the BRT. A few years ago I tried taking cuttings and defoliated them. Zero success.. not one of them struck roots. I didn't persevere.. but I suppose I should try again this time with the leaves, and in the propagator for high humidity so there is less transpiration. Someday I'll try to acquire a BRT, they are not common here. Anyway, glad to see your new Scots Pine looking so healthy!
Missed the Live video. I happened to see you are doing Black and Honey Locust. Are you starting from seed? I once came across a Honey Locust that had 3 foot long thorns that had thorns ramified all along the 3 feet. The thornless varieties are call Inermis which is simply Latin for thornless.
My Brazilian rain tree is also is bad shape post repot. While it has not dried, the leaves seem to curl up soon after sunrise - this is something typical post sunset. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Hola muchacho 👋 beautiful Brazilian tree 🌳 I am observing really close because I also have a similar tree 🌳 that I grew from seeds here in North Carolina from Ecuador name is Flamboyant is a very large tree and they come in different flowers colors my is abut same size as your I think I like to do same teaming but he is so wild and beautiful and I don’t want to imposed myself on him … I don’t know what to do 🙄👉🌳please any suggestions? Hi Nigel....I wanted to know How old is this tree now? Obviously U must have grown it from seed. I have also just got a Seedling of this tree and I am very curious to know that.
@@TheBonsaiZone what a pity! The shape of the leaves is really unique and the bark even of seedlings has a nice structure. If you get a new ginkgo one day I wish you have more luck.
This tree had no surface roots to hold it in the pot, so wire was brought up from the drainage holes and wrapped around the trunk to hold the tree in place. This can be done to Jades too as they have very little roots and are very top heavy.
Great work. Recently i have found a shape of tree i really like. Google for Indonesia sumba dancing mangrove. I think it is almost impossible to get this species of tree. Let alone to take care of it in german climate. Do you have an idea, in your seemingly endless tree wisdom, which tree could form a similar shape to these magnificent dancing mangroves. Best regards

Hi Nigel love that BRT. I know that you recently started a Ming Aralia. Will directional pruning work on that species? Thanks for all your great advice..
Haven't seen an update on your Norfolk Pine group for a while. I noticed yours have needles extending laterally whereas mine has needles extending radially - up and down as well. Do they vary?
@@TheBonsaiZone Thanks for your time Nigel. I bought this NIP, labelled as 'araucaria heterophilia', out of curiosity. After I chopped it back it did produce new shoots, so a possible bonsai. Then googling showed up your past videos and I noticed the difference in needle distribution. Further googling led to confusion...

almost snagged myself a brazillian rain tree a couple months back. i still think back to the potential of one. maybe someday ill pursue that endevour

the first one (brazilian rain tree) is so elegant. always a pleasure to watch you work on your trees nigel. happy bonsai'ing everyone!

I don’t think I’ve seen the trunk of a full sized Rain Tree before. I am digging that texture! So awesome that it’s coming out in yours, brother.
Birthday pine looking good at the hands of the Master.
i like your bonsai, i also like your hairstyle 😄
Best hopes for it. I think it will be great.

That has such an incredible canopy and you have definitely captured your inspiration well.

Meanwhile, I have learned that I CANNOT live near a rooster!
Ha ha, and that rooster is actually unusually quiet on this video. I wouldn't have him as a neighbor either. So, cocky!
I like the Rooster and love the ducks!!! I LOATHE THAT TRACTOR REVERSE BEEPER THOUGH!
Nigel memed the crown of this raintree with his messy hair. 🤣🤣🤣

Hey I got the same little set! Super excited for the review in a year!

Very nice! I love the leaves on those trees!
The BRT is looking good, and the second BRT is on its way back, it will get good foliage in no time!
I was wondering if fishing sinkers would get it to do what you want?
Looks marvellous, must try get one (or seed).

Thanks.
I clip the thorns off my Brazilian Rain tree with nail clippers. Got tired of being nicked and bleeding.

I really like the type of leaves of the BRT! The tree looks so light and elegant already.
How is your Ginkgo doing? On the track of recovery, I hope.
Thanks, the Ginkgo didn't make it, it got attacked by boring insects and never recovered.

hi nigel. ive never seen anyone wiring the tree like that. can you explain the method? i dont understand it

Very cool trees, maybe a Ficus would get you this style?
Could you clip off the ugly looking thorns on the trunk?

Trim off the thorns with nail clippers.
@@sylviaburns2995 okay friend, I usually cut the thorns using twig scissors
Its too bad but we cannot get these it seems. Been looking for these and nothing.
Hello Nigel , i wonder if you get dieback on this tree ?
I haven't so far!! It's growing really well this spring and will need a mid summer pruning!
Hi Nigel love that BRT. I know that you recently started a Ming Aralia. Will directional pruning work on that species?
Thanks for all your great advice..
Yes, but they tend to grow vertical, it's just the characteristic of these trees. Vertical branches and cascading foliage!

You are talking to us but your angle of view is not shared by us. So it is like not going anywhere...sorry for that.
