Actually Okamiden's sales failed because the North American release was 7 days after Pokemon Black/White, and 7 days before the international release of the 3ds. Thats a failure on Capcom's part.
What I like about this song is how the higher pitched flute almost always appear after the lower pitched flute does something. The higher pitched one kinda serves as the counter melody and be the response one. It feels like Chibi is responding to what his dark version is doing, always using something to counter them
That's the theme of the fight, in my opinion. You have sunrise and sunset(at least I think of it as sunset, even if it is an eclipse),and the fact that every brush stroke you make can and will be countered.
Does anyone actually say that it was bad though? Plenty of people say it's not as good as Ōkami, and I agree with that, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone claim that Ōkamiden is bad
Sugawara AKA King Fury, when controlled by evil, also makes valid points about friendship, he states that all mortals know is destruction, and can never be trusted. It made me question how well i trust others myself, and how well i trust our entire race
@@unklemikesworld5456 Capcom owns the game and the creator is out of the company, who knows if we'lll ever see the day, but He DID say that a sequel was coming..
Ngl i finished okamiden before okami (we had to borrow okami from a friend for a while) and while i can see how okamiden wouldnt hold up as a sequel its still an enjoyable game when you play it on its own
This game in particular pulled at me when they introduced Kurow. Though I enjoy both games and believe them spectacular in their own special way, Kurow was one aspect that I was especially drawn to in Okamiden. His character development, personality, and the teamwork between him and Chibi reminded me very much of a close friend who, unfortunately, does not live in the same area as me anymore. Aside from the blond hair (of which my friend is blond XD), I just... Let me put it this way... (next)
It goes to Chibi's leitmotif, which is moss prominent in the track, Preparing for Action, and is not the same tune as Rising Sun, which is Amy's leitmotif. Compare the two tracks, they are both wonderfull pieces of music in their own right, but the melodys are completely different.
This song fills me with SO MUCH ADRENALINE, IT'S PAINFUL X'D. It just makes me want to fight Akuro with all i've got! You don't how much energy was coursing through me when I first heard this X)
I'm disappointed with the comments. Okamiden was built on a different console, with many different features from Okami. it's not meant to be the same. This game is also aimed at a younger audience, hence it's appearance on DS. comparing these two are like comparing the sun to the moon. they were both masterpieces in their own right. if you only liked Okami and blindly hate Okamiden, you must have no appreciation for the originality Capcom pulled off with okamiden
Okami did not die when Clover died. OkamiDEN is the game this song is from, and Clover died before it was made. The Celestial Plain is still half full.
In the beginning, yes, that is true, after the first minute * about 1:25*, there is the part of it that sticks out in my mind as being Sun Rises. It does go back to the more dark tone, but then goes back to the lighter tone that again reminds me of Sun Rises. That is the problem i have with it. Again, I do love them both, but would prefer if it wouldn't flip flop as such.
(cont.) As I played through the adventure as Chibi with Kurow on my back, I felt like I was reliving my childhood friendship with my friend. Even at our rough points, we grew especially close, and we had each others backs in whatever situation faced us. Even the confrontation near the game's end resembled somewhat of a falling out we had, and even in the end of it all, we were still together, though he is still alive, unlike Kurow. (*sniff* :'( ) I was Chibi. He was Kurow. An unbreakable team.
It's like trying to pick your favorite cereal based on color, to put it in a way that I've heard used. Not many people liked it because it didn't have quite the same amount of violence, or didn't fit their "mature" tastes. The whole central theme of friendship and relying on and trusting your friends no matter the situation that was Okamiden seemed to go right over their heads. Kinda indicates that not many people rely on their friends, or simply choose not to have any.
You said "comparing the sun to the moon" referring to a series that features two sun gods and two moon gods, not to mention a civilization on the sun (Celestial Plain) and one on the moon (Moon Tribe) ...?
Man, was Dark Chibi hard to beat! I had to retry like 1,000,000 times. Well, on my first time around. The last two times were easy because I knew what to do.
i want ask what you think... do you think Kuni is nagi or susano, brought in from akuro's time travel magic as a "perfect vessel" or a totally different idea? What do you think? I think its Nagi or Susano...
Anyways, I got slightly off track here. The main point I was trying to make is that trying to judge a game solely based on face value, on what you see directly in front of you, and making evaluations on a game simply based on that, isn't a proper way to go about making any kind of conclusions on a game. It should be judged on how the game makes you feel... How it connects to you, and what it means to you. That's how you should look at a game, not just at it's colors and physical shaping.
Or well, this one did, anyway... The focus overall though shouldn't just be on, "Oh, what can I kill here?", or, "Are these graphics going to be amazing or will they be sucktacular?"
um sorry but kurow's resolve is a spoiler of what happens to kurow cause everybody knows what resolve means and i played all the way through the game just so you know not criticizing just pointing that out
There is one problem i have with the song. It tries too hard to be Sun Rises. I love both, but i wished for this to be more of an original final boss song.
@Okamii007 I thought the game was very good but I do think Okami was a better gene, that being said I hope they make a third game, but you know how Capcom can be sometimes......
GalaxyLdragoX yes, i thought also when i saw akuro's name for the first time that there was a conection between those two, but i never thought (don't read more i u don't want spoilers) he was a living doll... and that ending so sad... :'(

Huh... Another case just like Haunting Ground. No wonder people didn't know much about OkamiDen
Which is a shame because this game is actually really, really good!

And me and DragonGirl 2000 like it.
Chibi is the cutest wolf pup.

Contrasting tones usually make for a good boss/rival theme. Reala's theme from NiGHTS does something similar.
That's the theme of the fight, in my opinion. You have sunrise and sunset(at least I think of it as sunset, even if it is an eclipse),and the fact that every brush stroke you make can and will be countered.
Here after Okami 2 announcement
Either Yami and Amaterasu were fighting during the eclipse this year or Chibi and Akuro were. *mindblown*
I always loved how the song itself represents the battle between Chibi and Dark Chibi by switching between light and dark tones.
I don't really care what people say that Okamiden was a bad game. I love both Okami and Okamiden :)
Does anyone actually say that it was bad though? Plenty of people say it's not as good as Ōkami, and I agree with that, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone claim that Ōkamiden is bad
How a masterpiece can be a bad game?
DragonGirl 2000
Yeah I agree with you DragonGirl
DragonGirl 2000
I like it too Chibiterasu is the cutest little thing ever I like them both too
Let's give it up for the fact we somehow got a 3rd okami game
I'm hoping it doesn't completely ignore okamiden even if it wasn't part of the original vision for a sequel.
Sugawara AKA King Fury, when controlled by evil, also makes valid points about friendship, he states that all mortals know is destruction, and can never be trusted. It made me question how well i trust others myself, and how well i trust our entire race

In my opinion, one of the greatest final battles in video game history.
It goes to Chibi's leitmotif, which is moss prominent in the track, Preparing for Action, and is not the same tune as Rising Sun, which is Amy's leitmotif.
Compare the two tracks, they are both wonderfull pieces of music in their own right, but the melodys are completely different.
This is probably in my Top 5 list of favourite final boss themes from ANY game, EVER.
To think the DS is capable of giving you what the PS2 was easily capable of... amazing.
This isn't how the music sounds in-game
@@robonaught the ds version of this theme still sounds pretty sick though
I love how they manage to make flute music so dramatic and amazing. This track really feels dark but somehow hopeful as well.

Chibi vs Akuro and Dark Chibi and this song is epic
best fight in the game. Best song in the game. yes.
it still surprises me how good the graphics were for the game to be on the ds.
Well, the console was at the end of its life, so they really could use all of its potential.
And it still looks better than some 3DS games.
Okami did not die when Clover died. OkamiDEN is the game this song is from, and Clover died before it was made.
The Celestial Plain is still half full.
This fight (and the fight with Kurow) was so fast paced I thought my DS was going to explode.
I'm gong to listen to this during the August 21, eclispe.
@speyeker I believe I've already uploaded it. It might be named Kurow's Determination or Kurow's Resolve in the playlist. Not too sure.
Greatest. Song. Ever. 'Nuff said.
For some reason, in the game's gifts from Isshaku section this is called Akuro Beaten. Dunno why. I think Eclipse sounds better
perfect name for the battle
Try this on 1.5 speed. Its awesome
Kittyfuter44 also 1.25 speed. :3

It makes you question which values or beliefs are correct and true, which is something a good game should do, among it's other aspects.

The DS was an excellent council. I'd rather them try to change things rather than keep them the same, thus making a crappy repetitive game.
