This. This is the epitome of awesome final boss music. This is beautiful and intense at the same time. I own this game, and I love EVERY SECOND of it. The final battle is by NO means an exception, and this music sets the mood of the Sun Goddess, restored to her prime, versus the Ruler of Darkness, threatening to encase the world in shadow. Go, Ammy!
I know that feeling. This game is a masterpiece. Fantastic gameplay, an incredible story, memorable characters with a lot of personality, beautiful visuals, and of course, this soundtrack that is beyond words. It's sentimental, exciting, atmospheric, all in the perfect times and sometimes all at once. I won't say this game is perfect for 3 reasons. 1: Having to fight the same boss three times. 2: That motherf*cking Blockhead Grande. 3: It ends. Other than these nitpicks, the game is flawless.
MrLuizilla Every game has flaws, yes, but this, for me, is just one amazing game. And yes. Fighting Orochi THREE TIMES? That's a bit too much. It sucks because you have to hit the points in the order they appear. And yes, the game ends, which is sad because I wanna see the story continue. This is an absolutely amazing game.

Such a good game. Such a good soundtrack. I am so pleased that I walked into GAME that day and saw that unusual PS2 game in the shelf with its big red circle and a white wolf, and bought it as a gift. It's the best game I watched someone else play through.
OMG!! I love this song!! I just finished the game 2 weeks ago and now I'm dancing to this gone whenever I hear it. When Ammy was all sad and everyone started to believe her and she gotten into a new form and when this song came on during the final boss. I went "Let's do this!" It motivated me Cx Such a beautiful game Okami forever
Whenever im down or sad, I listen to this song, to know that in the end, there's still a shining sun in the sky and that everything's going to be alright.
I really want this game, but I can't decide which version I should get, and where to get it. This track is one of, if not the best song(s) in history. Clover is not gone, they are Platinum, and Bayonetta 2 is their latest release, for those of you who miss Clover, they are still here, and you can support them by buying the masterpiece that is Bayonetta 2.
I'd probably recommend the HD version on Playstation Network, since it's the easiest one to find. However, the original credits theme "Reset" is completely removed, probably because Capcom couldn't get the rights to use that song again. Aside from that, it's the best version, since it supports traditional controls or motion controls similar to the Wii version thanks to the PS Move. It also retains all the graphical fidelity of the PS2 version that the Wii version removed in favor of brighter colors.
DO NOT Get it on the Wii. Get the original PS2 game. I never actually finished it, but I watched a friend play through the whole game. It's a VERY good game.
I remember while finishing off the boss, my heart was so pumped to do beat it. I was chanting encouraging words to myself as I remember the things I had done for everyone. The adventures we had, the laughter, the sorrow, the fun, the battles. I was dogging all his attacks without hesitation. I took every second he was vulnerable as an opportunity to fix what was done from this beast. At first, I didn't think it could be done, but once I noticed how everyone I met was praying for my survival and victory, my heart was lifted and took flight. The power of hopes and determination swelled within my soul, my eyes wide open as I threw everything at him. No matter how many times I would die, I wouldn't stop fighting. I wasn't going to give up now. Not because I'd gone too far; but because I was given the chance to make a change. This game was truly amazing. The art was beautiful. I don't think I could've asked for anymore from the creators of this masterpiece. I did not regret anything while playing throughout the game. And though I had some troubles on my play through, in the end, it was just absolutely stunning.
I've heard many amazing final boss battle themes in my life, but this one takes the cake! Bravo, Japan! 2 thumbs up for both the game and this amazing piece of music!
+TheVectorSilver The song is even more awesome when you're battling Yami with Amaterasu's power fully restored and using the celestial brush to block all of his attacks. This is a game where you truly feels like a god! It's a hell of a journey that everyone should enjoy. Simply unique!
+Luciano Garcia It's one of the best feelings ever in a videogame, to be up against the final duel against the final boss, feel genuinely threatened by him, but at the same time know that you have all the courage / power / second wind you need to triumph over him ... while listening to a heroic musical score proclaiming that the only outcome can be victory ... and then actually win, on the first try. Like another commentor said earlier, this may be the musical track assigned to the final boss, but the song is YOUR THEME. It doesn't sing about how evil and powerful the boss is, it sings about how YOU are about to wipe the floor with it. I've played a lot of adventures, but the ones that fulfill all of these criteria are precious few, and Okami is one of them.
Okami has to have the best OST I've ever heard in a game. I mean, there are a ton of good, epic and memorable game scores out there, but this is one is really unique and instantly recognizable.
I could imagine either a remix or the original version of this theme being used in Amaterasu's reveal trailer if she makes it in. She can sometimes be quite underrated for a video game character. I feel like Amaterasu becoming one of the five DLC characters for the Fighters Pass for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate would truly be, *her time to shine again!*
Ah, I'm getting chills and im tearing up. I grew up on this game, and have played it over 5-6 times now. I can imagine my whole adventure while listening to this song. No matter how many times I play, I have fun and it never grows old on you. Everyone needs to play this game. They won't regret it.
it's almost the end of the year, and it feels like we're finally reaching the end of the tunnel and this song just perfectly summarizes that feeling :)
Love this song.. best lass boss music going. How Ami loses her powers, things look bad, then the prayers and hopes of all she helped give her the strength to "finish the fight" the music reflects it perfectly. Upbeat and full of hope.. such an amazing game.
This was my favorite game ever for the PS2. It was very emotional. I loved how it had it's funny moments, sad moments, and serious moments along with it's happy moment's. :) When my friend showed me this game and let me borrow it I instantly fell in love with it. When he had to move he gave me Okami as a token of our friendship. I love the art as well in this game. Best game ever.

This is the best game ever. I love this game, I still gave it on ps2 :) such an amazing story, unmatched graphics and unbelievable gameplay! Thank you Capcom and CloverStudios
For the entirety of the game, every boss fight has had the theme of the boss playing. Not until the final phase of the final boss do you get to hear the true theme of Amaterasu. 'Tis a thing of sheer beauty when this song begins to play.
Go and save the world, Ammy! For all Nippon have faith in you, and trust that you will defeat the Evil and bring light and peace to the world again! ___ This game is so beautiful and emotional. Truly a masterpiece that won't age a second.
i love that through out the fight not only are we regaining the brush techniques, we also can see the spirits of some people we met throughout the journey, nagi can be seen slicing yami in half when using crescent, Himiko gives you health when using mist veal, and oki can be seen when using blizzard. it feels like their spirits are there to watch over you and assist you to fight back the evil and bring forth the rising sun.
This game has everything that I love in a good game; Fun gameplay, awesome battles, awesome soundtrack, awesome story, awesome characters, comic relief etc.
Hearing this theme and then relearning all of the brush techniques (sunrise included this time) was SO AMAZING and I had chills until the credits. And then the credits music gave me chills too because *of course it did* .

When Ammy was all sad and everyone started to believe her and she gotten into a new form and when this song came on during the final boss. I went "Let's do this!" It motivated me Cx Such a beautiful game Okami forever
Masterpiece.
"I'm sorry Yami, were you doing something? I couldn't hear it over the sound of how awesome my theme music is."
Whenever im down or sad, I listen to this song, to know that in the end, there's still a shining sun in the sky and that everything's going to be alright.
The memories of my constant playing of this game. overwhelming.
It also retains all the graphical fidelity of the PS2 version that the Wii version removed in favor of brighter colors.
gmaster2647 Unfortunately, I don't have the PS move controller, I don't want to buy it just for this game too, anything else?
Hearth Stoned PS Move is just an option actually, you can play it with just the regular controller.
Oh, well in that case I'll probably get the PS3 version. Thanks!
DO NOT Get it on the Wii. Get the original PS2 game. I never actually finished it, but I watched a friend play through the whole game. It's a VERY good game.
With this, your spell of eternal darkness shall be broken, AND THE DAWN SHALL COME!
Touhou reference?
End of imperishable darkness "Rising sun"
This is so beautiful and heart-warming. I have never played this game though. :(
Vector Silver me neither sadly :(
I want to badly
Stratelier i hate oni island
Okami has to have the best OST I've ever heard in a game. I mean, there are a ton of good, epic and memorable game scores out there, but this is one is really unique and instantly recognizable.
If Ammy came to Smash Ultimate, this music would play 😍
I could imagine either a remix or the original version of this theme being used in Amaterasu's reveal trailer if she makes it in. She can sometimes be quite underrated for a video game character. I feel like Amaterasu becoming one of the five DLC characters for the Fighters Pass for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate would truly be, *her time to shine again!*
April 20th, 2006.
I will never, EVER forget that day.
Never.
one of the most underated games ever
Amazing how this song make me want to play the game again for the Xth time...
I've never played Okami before, but I feel such freedom with this theme, I love it!
and play well. I finished it 5-6 times and never got tired of it! Master class from Capcom for once. (and especially Clover)
Love this song.. best lass boss music going. How Ami loses her powers, things look bad, then the prayers and hopes of all she helped give her the strength to "finish the fight" the music reflects it perfectly. Upbeat and full of hope.. such an amazing game.
This game is a masterpiece
who else is back here after announcing Okami HD for the Switch?
Me, of course! I can't wait for it to come out!
Best game ever.
this shit is eternal.. i'll be jamming to this when im old and grey, i swear it.
Only 20 mins to enjoy the music? What if I want to spend the entire 50 roaming around the Shrine Ruins enjoying every second of it!?
Now I wish I had this game this final boss theme is the best one I've heard yet I now got to find this game and make a play through of it it's that AWSOME!
I was crying before I notice. This music is beautiful!
My childhood.... I'm gonna cry lol. I'm so happy to have grown up with this game 😭
This is the best game ever. I love this game, I still gave it on ps2 :) such an amazing story, unmatched graphics and unbelievable gameplay! Thank you Capcom and CloverStudios
i absolutely adore this tune- it's incredibly triumphant and gives a feeling of power to the player as they finish off the final boss.
I never knew that it was possible for music to SING. But okami's music just takes my breath away each and every time I listen to it.
One of my favourite soundtracks Okami is the best game I have ever played :)
For the entirety of the game, every boss fight has had the theme of the boss playing. Not until the final phase of the final boss do you get to hear the true theme of Amaterasu. 'Tis a thing of sheer beauty when this song begins to play.
Best final boss theme in videogame history (At least for me)
Literally just beat the game twenty minutes ago! BEST GAME EVER!!!! ☀️🐾
If Amateratsu gets in Smash, i hope they have a remix for this song
So this is what all the hype is about!? **laughs incredulously** ...There needs to be more hype!
Yami: Why do i hear boss music?
I'm here again because of the event quest in Monster Hunter Rise.
One of the few games that got me to cry like a baby, I freaking love this game
This song gives me goosebumps, and I haven't even played the full game yet! Beautiful!
CHILLS
Go and save the world, Ammy!
For all Nippon have faith in you, and trust that you will defeat the Evil and bring light and peace to the world again!
___
This game is so beautiful and emotional.
Truly a masterpiece that won't age a second.
I was not ready when this music played. I had to fight the boss and my tears haha
Ammy: "I am no longer trapped in here with you. YOU are now trapped in here with ME!"
i love that through out the fight not only are we regaining the brush techniques, we also can see the spirits of some people we met throughout the journey, nagi can be seen slicing yami in half when using crescent, Himiko gives you health when using mist veal, and oki can be seen when using blizzard. it feels like their spirits are there to watch over you and assist you to fight back the evil and bring forth the rising sun.
this is the best okami battle theme ever!
Happy 15 year anniversary Ammy! :)
The combination of events that happened along with this song really made this THE best boss battle in the game (single tear)
This music has so much Shinto in it.... so good!
44 people will meet yami, orochi, and ninetails very soon
Ikr not supporting the sun goddess
Or, probably the ones that i recently defeat. xD

This game has everything that I love in a good game; Fun gameplay, awesome battles, awesome soundtrack, awesome story, awesome characters, comic relief etc.
okami had the most beautiful ending that I have ever seen
How is this NOT Japan's anthem?!
christakisf Christakisf japan’s anthem sucks though.
Praise the sun ya'll!!
Hearing this theme and then relearning all of the brush techniques (sunrise included this time) was SO AMAZING and I had chills until the credits. And then the credits music gave me chills too because *of course it did* .
Okami is one of the best games of all time: ' ) Good music , good story , great gameplay and beautiful graphics , plus the game is very exciting and made me feel many feelings , something that has not happened with any other game up this day , it is definitely the best game I've played in my PS2 , along with devil may cry. It's too sad to have left forgotten this game , had little attention even when it came out (in my opinion) *i am sorry i dont speak in english*
Extraterrestrials should listen to this =D
More people should play this game, it is absolutely AMAZING and so is the soundtrack. I'm hoping it becomes more popular and they make a sequel/threequel for the 3DS. It would look awesome in 3D. #okamiamaterasu
there really isn't a single bad tune in this game and I don't think I can say that about any other game, or even my entire cd collection. hmm
+bezoticallyyours83 Xenoblade :)
+SL99999 yeah? I haven't played it yet. I will definitely have too. :D
You really should
Even the freaking jingles are good.
Okami was one of the best games I ever played! With this music in the background while you are fighting Yami just sets the whole mood! Okami
