At this point, I'd rather see Okamiden remastered for multiple systems. Specially to reduce and remove many of the maps' limitations, add a sneak peak of Celestial Plain (which is hinted in Unused Content), restore the Green Demon Challenge Scroll, the force demons to drop stuff if hit when dizzied, etc.

Also...Chibi never learned Crescent. My understanding is that Dark Chibi copies the abilities of Chibi, so they could only use the abilities he had learned in the game, except Sunrise since Akuro twisted that power to Sunset.

dont know why people portray an eclipse as an event where evil engulfs the world, I see it as an event where light and shadow are in unison/working together.
I never played this one or Okami (even though I have Okami in my collection for like 6 years or something). But the soundtrack is just amazing... maybe I should play them both

I never managed to get hold of this game. Shame too, as it was everything we wanted out of a sequel to the best Zelda to not have the name Zelda in it. Must I say that this is easily one of the best final boss themes I've heard in a long time. And this is coming from the moron who's been all over the Internet, and still prefers this to really good tracks like In The Final, Hopes and Dreams, Nuclear Fusion, and even considers this on par with stuff like Endless Possibility (orchestral version of course.) THAT is how much I love this. THAT is how beautiful this track is. Heavenly. -Okami 2 when, Capcom. And give us the fucking credits this time.-
Eh, personally I thought the idea the actual original people behind the first Okami had for the sequel would have been a lot better than this. Okamiden more or less felt like a rehash of the same exact story, but with everything made chibi and therefore cuter. It just felt like Capcom wanted to milk an IP they were able to keep the rights to after Clover went under before becoming Platinum Games.
AQUA Marine01 Okamiden is sort of a "weird ball" tbh, it introduces some cool new elements and does some things better, but also does some other things worse. I've seen people giving it very different ratings. There's also the fact that, differently from the Okami HD which released on PS3/PS4/Switch, it was never re-released again on any console other than on DS, and that could make it slightly harder to find nowadays. My advice as someone who played them both: absolutely play Okami HD first. It is my opinion, if even slightly so, the better game. Then, if you really liked it and want more, you could search for a copy of Okamiden to play (or emulate it). But this should have lower priority over the original,imo.
I imagine Dark Matter fighting against Synergy Astra. Because she absorbed Lara's Synergy Burst, it will be a very intense battle, because nothing can destroy Synergy. I root for Dark Matter.
Me. Yami may not have had any speaking lines, but it had more presence and was more cinematic. You *felt* how big and disastrous it was, especially with how it drained Ammy of her powers with little to no effort, and each of its forms represented the evils of humanity in different aspects. All of this, plus the fact the battle led to that tear-jerking moment where faith in the gods (in this case Ammy) was restored thanks to Issun, and Yami was a fantastic final boss overall. Akuro, on the other hand, was more of a sterotypical villain, in both design and speaking lines. The fact that Capcom can't seem to decide if Akuro is the strongest of Yami's heirs, or the true dark lord the whole time, doesn't help either. Now none of this means Akuro is a bad antagonist. He worked for the story, and the final battle against him, especially when part of him took the form of Dark Chibiterasu (I wish Dark Chibi *was* his true form. It would've made things more interesting), was intense, and it did lead to the most heartbreaking moment of the game (Kurow's sacrifice). It's just when compared to Yami, he's quite lame.

I was raised on the idea Akuro was a fragment of Yami, and possibly as an explanation of him being the "true evil" being that perhaps he's essentially Yami's "mind" or "personality" and power made manifest, essentially meaning they're both ultimately the same entity, just that Akuro is more blatant about his villainy by virtue of being everything Yami would've acted on because he technically *is* Yami, just without the shell to channel as much of it's power through. Something like Solaris from Sonic 06, with Akuro as the Mephiles analogue while the other fragments are more like Iblis in the grand scheme of things.

Why didn't dark chibi use crescent to blot out the sun. That would have been a neat reference to the original...
When it's solar eclipse, it would be new moon instead of crescent.

Well, in Okami and Okamiden you are the literal sun god. So an eclipse leaves the main character powerless.
