I've been a fan of the Okami franchise for 10 years, finding out about it by accidentally stumbling across the Okami soundtracks on youtube as a 10 year old kid. I fell in love with the aesthetic, and the art style has inspired me in my illustrations and encouraged me to go on to major in Japanese Studies at university. However because video games were a rare luxury in my low-income household, I never actually got a chance to play the Okami games as a kid, and fangirled my way through listening to the soundtrack, reading the wiki, admiring the fanarts and occasionally watching playthroughs, miserably believing that I'd never get to actually play the game. Today, 10 years after discovering the franchise, bordering on 20 years of age, I got a brand new copy of Okamiden in the mail. It cost me 2 weeks worth of food (yep I'm a broke student barely able to pay rent and eat), but I can honestly say that it was the best purchase of my whole life. I've been playing it non stop for the last 8 hours, and for the first time in months I haven't obsessed over my girlfriend leaving me, thought about the dark things that depression makes you think, or haven't cried/apathetically stared at a wall. Yeah it's just a video game, and not even the main game of the franchise, but getting that package and holding the box when it came in the mail honestly made my year. It's so silly but it means the world to me to own Okamiden after all this time, and especially now that I've not been mentally well. I'm not even huge on video games besides the generic pokemon/nintendogs/animal crossing games that I've dipped in and out of through my teens, but the feeling of finally being able to play a game that you've been secretly wishing for and admiring from a distance since you were little is incredible. I recognise the characters, the music, the locations simply by having browsed through Okami content online for 10 years. Honestly it sounds like such a trivial thing but I'm happier than I have been in months, and it's all thanks to this one game, and the sheer beauty of everything about it.
I love this because it has the cut out parts that the music designers didn't favor in the the original Ryoshima Coast. Look up Early Ryoshima Coast to understand what I mean.
I disagree. I've never played Okami all the way through (since I don't own it), but I've seen LPs of it. I've played Okamiden three times and I'm working on my fourth playthrough. I must say that Okamiden follows in its predecessor's footsteps very nicely. I love it :)
This is the very first thing I came in contact with, that introduced me to the Okami/Okamiden franchise. This piece of music. Am now trying to play through Okami and will probably play Okamiden as well, if I can find a copy, that is.
funny story . . . i first played okami maybe 2 years ago and i was looking for okamiden really hard . . . then i got my friend into the okami franchise . . . and the next day she got okamiden and 2 other games for under 50 dollars, seriously.
I pre-ordered Okamiden and played that first before getting okami for Wii and being able to play it through fully. I love how the sequal stays true to the original sound design and art (albeit toned down due to hardware limitations of the ds) but it keeps the charm of the original and keeps the amazing story telling and gameplay. Especially true on the 3ds with the analog stick control. the gameplay is fluid and works perfectly.
I haven't played this game, but in Okami, I hated getting into battles at Ryoshima Coast because of the music. I assume a similar thing will happen to me here, when I play this game.
Actually, I don't think that's quite correct. If it were a remastering, then it would be the exact same song as the original Ryoshima Coast theme, but in a higher quality. This IS a remix, since it's the old tune spliced into a very different song, though it's still recognizable as having derived from the original Ryoshima Coast theme. A remix doesn't explicitly mean taking a song and making it a different genre of music.
re-mixing means keeping the elements but switching them around remastering keeps everything in order but improving elements so they fit the same meaning in a more powerful way,
Remixing doesn't mean changing it into techno, dance or rock. It can just be the same song with new elements, or a different song with elements of the original.
You know? I thought they should make a lunar warrior that was chosen to be transformed into a god/gekigami's Moon Servant and you can probably guess who the servant is
You know I want to see in a new game for the WiiU? Amaterasu, or Chibiturasu. For real. One of the best games ever. Seriously. Why are we even still talking about this Capcom? Go design it.
People, it's not a remix. This is called (Remastering) not remixing. Enough of the remix stuff. If this was made into a techno, or dance, or rock, then yeah, it's pretty much a remix.
Enough of the "Chugga led me here" the comment section should be used to talk about the theme, that's what Chugga would of wanted anyway. Please just enjoy the music.
You don't learn about remixes in school. As far as I know, it's not on the curriculum. Also this isn't a remastering, it is a remix. It's the same song, but with a different back up tune, but still elements of the original.
remixing is changine the song in more dramatin ways such as changing the background melody or using completly different instruments all together, remastering is re-making a song with higher quality instruments.
Shadelyn Greystorm I understand you think that way, but a wolf and a human... I donno... What the other parent from the baby gods is, is also a mystery...
okami and Okamiden have some of the best soundtracks that may exist

Obama brought me here.
I wish for the context
Thanks Obama
Wow, this soundtrack is amazing! The original Ryoshima Coast has some great music but this is even better in my opinion!
I love both Ryoshima Coast songs from Okami and Okamiden, but I think the one is Okamiden is MUCH better.
I love this because it has the cut out parts that the music designers didn't favor in the the original Ryoshima Coast. Look up Early Ryoshima Coast to understand what I mean.
I disagree.

Ah memorys....Of being killed, thanks for that Amatarasu.
Your welcome ninetails, your welcome.
+Amaterasu okami Thank you, Ammy!
Wait youre dead ninetails....so in the other world there are computers?
I first heard of this song in Chuggaconroy's "Kirby 's Epic Yarn" playthrough.
same
Ah.. Ryoshima Coast's theme in Okami is amazing, but this... I can't describe it! :D
I thought Okami version of Ryoshima coast couldn't be better...
Never have i been so wrong.
gotta love Ryoshima coast, it's always awesome!!!
Thank you for mentioning Early Ryoshima Coast in your comment, I would not have found out about it otherwise.
This is the very first thing I came in contact with, that introduced me to the Okami/Okamiden franchise. This piece of music. Am now trying to play through Okami and will probably play Okamiden as well, if I can find a copy, that is.
I love this stage...I fell in love with the music as soon as I restored the land.
0:47 Why wasn't that part in the original?! It would have sounded so much more epic in the original!
It was the early version, but got changed.
its actually in the credits song of the orginal. not reset but the ryoshima coast remix
Never would've found out about this amazing piece of music without him soooooooo yeah haha
Favorite track in the game, no doubt about it.And that's saying a lot since this game has a l lot of beautiful music!
you know guys... now that i am listening to this again... this is my favorite version so far... i feel so nostalgic when listening to this
funny story . . . i first played okami maybe 2 years ago and i was looking for okamiden really hard . . . then i got my friend into the okami franchise . . . and the next day she got okamiden and 2 other games for under 50 dollars,

I can't help but whistle along. ITS SO DAMN GOOD!!!
I haven't played this game, but in Okami, I hated getting into battles at Ryoshima Coast because of the music. I assume a similar thing will happen to me here, when I play this game.
Good lord, this is even better than the original.

...This is one of the best things I've listened to...
Those taiko drums in the intro give me shivers, every time! :)
When I played Okamiden right when I got to this part I just stopped and listened to the music for like 5 minuets
Just another comment about Chugga passing through here....
Remixing doesn't mean changing it into techno, dance or rock. It can just be the same song with new elements, or a different song with elements of the original.
I haven't played this game (planning on doing so) but both Okami and Okamiden music of Ryoshima Coast are awesome in their own way.
I did a 2000 word essay with this song, without any distractions. So unless you can focus really hard, don't listen to this with homework.
Whoa, chuggaa wasn't kidding! This is amazing!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
xD
I love this
While I never did enjoy the game like I did with Okami, this game has some incredible soundtrack :]
Ohhhhhh, the memoriiieeeees~
chuggaconroy led me to this moment. I THANK HIM!!!!
He's adopted. He's not Kushi and Susano's biological son. Honestly, why is that so hard to imagine?
Amazing remix. It's a shame that you never do anything here in Okamiden.
After not playing the game for 5 seconds I forget what the characters look like that how much I'm addicted
epicness is epic
this ryoshinma coast music is pretty much saying welcome back to ryoshinma coast
0:47 amazing
Remix or not, i still think this song is amazing.
There are speculations that Manpuku was shoe-horned at the very end of development.
this one was the best
It's a lunar gray cat that is a friend to Chibutarastu marked with a bright Crescent Moon Named Sokumarastu
so to sum up what you said; This is a reorchestration, not a remix
its too good
Chugga epic ness
Remake for 3ds anyone?
THAT WOULD BE SO FUCKING AWESOME, I WANT THAT TO HAPPEN :D
Andrea Luna-Niebla We need to make a petition or something.
+Eidolon Song yes.
YES.
YES!
YYEESSSS!!!!!
+The Psuunderhal Goblune fuck that peice of shit. remake for wii u
Diamondpinkiepie amen
"...that's what Chugga would [have] wanted anyway." lol He's not dead! :)
Many people do, and many people don't.
i like if you hear closely you can hear okami's version of rioshi ma coast
So much diffrent from the Northern Ryoshima Coast... But I like them^^
You know? I thought they should make a lunar warrior that was chosen to be transformed into a god/gekigami's Moon Servant and you can probably guess who the servant is
chugga led us here.
You know I want to see in a new game for the WiiU? Amaterasu, or Chibiturasu. For real. One of the best games ever. Seriously. Why are we even still talking about this Capcom? Go design it.

yes he did.
I HOPE THEY RELEASE A HD VERSION ON PSN.. pls?
THANKS CHUGGA!!
Okamiden brought me here
Enough of the "Chugga led me here" the comment section should be used to talk about the theme, that's what Chugga would of wanted anyway. Please just enjoy the music.
Kurow...oh...kurow....
Goddamn... Now I don't know which version I like better D:
You don't learn about remixes in school. As far as I know, it's not on the curriculum. Also this isn't a remastering, it is a remix. It's the same song, but with a different back up tune, but still elements of the original.
Whenever I hear a bad video game song I put this on
love the song but just a question. Why isn't the final partner in the image?
chuggaaconroy brought me here! :D
At least as good as the Okami version (if it ain't better), masterpiece =D
wow! i cant whait to get the game! amateratsu! this is a graite sound track!
Chugga brought me here :3
is manpuku really that needed in the story?
Yes
remixing is changine the song in more dramatin ways such as changing the background melody or using completly different instruments all together, remastering is re-making a song with higher quality instruments.
Chugged never lies ;)
gonna have to disagree with ya there. i enjoyed okamiden every bit as much as the original okami. and i fuckin loved the original.
Though his origin of his parents is unknown
well in the game it says amatarasu is his mother and there was only one other person with her on the celestial plain waka
Shadelyn Greystorm I understand you think that way, but a wolf and a human... I donno... What the other parent from the baby gods is, is also a mystery...
true very true
Shadelyn Greystorm In Japanese mythology often only one parent is needed, so Chibiterasu probably only has a mother, namelay Amaterasu.
MasterMario14 That exlpains everyting! Btw, nice Sulk-manado picture ;P
So? He wasnt originally supposed to be in the game anyway.
Me too! :3
Hope you can pronounce his name
Why isn't there manpuku on the screen?
I acually like this song better then the Ryoshima in okami. (doesn't mean I don't like it)
Eh, I like the Ryoshima Coast music better in Okami. This is still pretty dang good, though. :D
1.25 speed... eargasm...
Has anyone else noticed kuni's stomach
Chugga's kinda dead now 3:
the yami disliked it (yea sorry if i forgot the final boss in okami)
sup
If chugga brought you here,
Leave your thumbs up...
-conroy
sounds like a remix to me! :P (even though... it's not...)
Thumbs up if kurow is the best party member
but it's TRUUUEEE!
Hip hop should be ashamed of itself.
Then maybe you never went to school.
And it's a kitten
Chibiterasu is actually a wolf. :3
Video Gaming Furry-thing a wolf pup and an adorable one at that
I doubt that kittens can howl and bark.
who else is watching this because of chuggaaconroy?
but this is capcom
