    Wow, your iron is old. I have one exactly like that. Your sewing machine is exactly like the one I used to use at work before I retired. I just can’t sew as good as you do, lol. I sewed for Bassett Furniture Co. , Hanes Co. then for Sealy Mattress.

      I love that iron; older appliances are built to last! I still have a washer/dryer that’s 33 years old and still going strong lol. Even now, if we need something we search for old tools online or thrift.
      So cool that you sewed for a living! I used to sew samples when I had a children’s wear line and have always enjoyed sewing. Do you still sew as a hobby?
      My husband has been restoring vintage sewing machines for several years so now I have a lot to choose from, but I would never stop using my Juki.

    I would like to record my great admiration for these wonderful works of art. I am from Egypt, and my work is in papyrus, which is made of papyrus, the oldest paper in history. I love handicrafts, and I will try to make one out of papyrus.all my apprecition and respect for your wonderful art works

      Your work sounds fascinating! Would love to see how it turns out if you make one from papyrus.

    So on the seam side just fold it over on itself and sew it down?

    • @BirdzofaFeather
      @BirdzofaFeather  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes; one side is shorter so the other side fold right over it to finish it nicely.

    A heat gun will help melt the glue to make it easier to remove the trim.

      This one happened to be easy to remove but that's a great tip! Thanks for sharing it Shaina!

    how much fabric will be needed for this shape of lamp shade.

    • @BirdzofaFeather
      @BirdzofaFeather  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really can't give you an exact measurement because it isn't the shape, it's the size of your own particular shade. I think this particular one fit within a metre of fabric, but you need to make a template to determine the sizing for your own shade :).
