I think the lamp base is the perfect size and style, you just need to buy a smaller replacement harp so that the shade will sit a bit lower that’s all. Thank you for the instructional video the finished shade is beautiful 💜
So pretty! I love the fabric colours. I agree with another comment, maybe a shorter harp. 🙋♀️ Thanks for introducing me to a gadget that I didn't know existed, the bias tape thingy! 😊
Not only did you teach me how to cover the lampshade you also taught me how to use the binding tool that I bought years ago and forgot about. Now I have to find it! Thanks Tania!👍
Great tips, thanks! I’ve never thought of doing it this way, so I can’t wait to try it on a shade I have just waiting to be upgraded! Just a smaller (shorter) harp would be perfect!
Great job! Using the bias tape maker was genius! I've watched several videos of people making a lamp shade but they all pleated one piece of fabric. I have 2 shades I need to do this to. I also have the fabric and bias tape makers. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Hi Linda, thank you so much! I'm glad you've gotten some inspiration. I was always a little intimidated with lamp shade makeovers, they seem hard to me but this was so easy!
Thanks so much for this video! I’ve always wanted to learn how to do this!! You did an excellent job teaching me. Do you remember where you purchased the fabric? I’m in LOVE!
I'm so glad you like the video. I got the fabric at JoAnn Fabrics. It's here: www.joann.com/fabric-traditions-pastel-floral-keepsake-calico-plus-cotton-fabric/18075309.html?storeId=1688 :)
Yay! I'm glad you're going to try it. It depends on which size of bias tape maker you are using but you want it about twice as wide I think so that when you run it through, both sides fold over and meet in the middle. Maybe test it out with some scraps first to get a feel.☺️

Yes, I know and I said that I was going to keep looking for a lamp base that would work with the shade in the video. The main point of the video was how to make the shade :)

Love it! Bought my fabric today! How wide do you cut the strips of fabric before you put into the bias tape maker?

So I need ideas on black grey and white
I didn't see this comment until just now, sorry about that. I would pick a cute floral fabric in those colors!
How much fabric did you buy?
Hi there! It will depend on the size of your shade but I ended up using about a yard of fabric.
@@LittleVintageCottage thx. My shade is the size of yours. Lovely!

Lovely shade need a shorter harp on your lamp
Thank you. Someone else suggested that too but the lamp and shade have already sold. Next time I'll know! 😊

@@jacksparrowarrrr The fabric on the Anthropologie shades or the fabric that I used?
The harp is too tall, it does not look like the model

Cute...just get a shorter harp
Thanks! I sold that one but if I make more I'll be sure the lamp and/or harp are the right size.
